I upgraded handsets and wanted to continue with my game progress in 4 Pics 1 Word, so here is how to do it.
ROOT REQUIRED. It's so easy these days why wouldn't you just do it?
Install the game from the Play store on your new phone.
On your old phone, using a root browser/explorer go to: /data/data/de.lotum.whatsinthefoto.us/files
copy these 2 files: gameState and solved.txt
Paste them over the existing files in the same location on your new phone. All done.
I have checked Android OS 2.3.3, 4.0.4 and 4.1.2 and the files and locations for this game are the same, so this should work for everyone.
For those who want to cheat you can edit gameState. You can increase the number of coins and change what level you are on. But be warned: You need to know what letters are required for the level you choose!
The contents of my gameState file are:
Code:
{"tag":"GameState","showJokerIndices":[],"deleteJokerIndices":[],"generatedKeys":"OSTPYZVHOGOO","level":900,"nDeleteJokersUsed":0,"poolId":9,"currentPhotoId":2600,"coins":87}
The other file solved.txt contains a list of the levels you have completed.
Enjoy.

Does that work if transferring across different versions of OS? Like 2.3.3 to 4.1.2?

It is nice to be able to find things... when you're migrating things from one phone to another for your wife, and her "favorite game" wasn't backed up before the sdcard was installed in the new phone... and now you can't back it up using TiB... as TiB no longer see's the game installed on the phone...
Thanks!
4 Pics 1 Word's gameplay
4 Pics 1 Word's gameplay is very simple: each level displays four pictures linked by one word - the player's aim is to work out what the word is, from a set of letters given below the pictures. The game is said to follow the "freemium" model: although the game is free, microtransactions are available to help the user progress through the game more quickly.
The game is written from an English dialect perspective, as well as contains some unfamiliar words, causing some people to turn to cheating sites or apps to get the correct answers. Game apps are a popular way to kill time, and word games are among some of the biggest fads. One game in particular, called 4 Pics 1 Word, has become increasingly popular on Facebook, the iPhone, and the Android recently. If you've never played this game before, here's how to do it.
Once you start the game, you will be shown a screen with four photographs. These four photographs each have something in common. Sometimes it will be obvious, while other times, it can actually be fairly hard to guess. This is especially true of later levels.

CrazyBoxes is the new creation of Kenzilab.com, this time we bring you a great logic game. It's simple, you just
only need to count boxes on images and reach more and more levels.
As long as you play you will find new levels, Each one will be harder but you will have more time to solve solve de CrazyBox.
Also you can store your score, not only on your device, you will be able to store it on internet and compete with many other people over the world.
We hope that you all enjoy this game as we did on the development process.
There go some screens and the QR-Code in order to access Android Market. (see attached files)
Do not hestitate to contact us if you find any problem, or you have some ideas to improve the game
Best regards!!
Can't try it just yet (I am at work) but this looks like a fun game.
Hmmm, is it free? We will see
You make me feel stupid .
The screen says "Easy", but my brain goes "Aahhh, time goes too quickly for me!".

hehe don't think I'm the master... I can't reach dificult level but... it's still funny!
My new favorite game!
Thanks
Great game, thanks
Really like the game. Good work!i! I agree, it's certainly challenging =D
Fun game, really makes you think fast. Only problem I noticed is after I lose, if I hit the second button from the left, I immediately get a force close. Phone is a Moto Droid running UD8.

Hello thanks for the words, it's always nice to see how our works is funny and interesting for people.
About the problem we will study it, but at the moment i can't reproduce it. My htc desire works great with global save feature and i have notice that others devices do too.
Between if you don't care I will pm you in order to ask you about some additional information.
On my droid incredible Froyo i've got an issue where it says I lose before the timer runs out. I'll play the first level with time to spare, but the second one stops ans says I lose when it shows even up to 7 seconds left sometimes.

Just a possibility (may not necessarily be the case), but the game will end if you enter in the wrong number of boxes.

Yes, if you enter a number over the solution, you will loose. But if you enter a
lower one, you will be able to erase and enter again your solution. but you can not
be exceed the good number.
Between i will decrease the dificulty of the game, at least i will give more times
each level.
I want see you all enjoing the game, not crying becouse of the game is extremally hard even for us
Would it be possible to add a difficulty option? Maybe label the current difficulty as 'Hard' and create an 'Easy' difficulty that gives the player more time. Just throwing ideas out there.
really enjoying the game!
i'm having the same problem as Ross LH. when i try to submit my score, it hangs and then force closes. i'm using a stock captivate.

They are required for ads purpose. I would prefer remove them...but
Kenzilab's projects need some support.
We have released a new version of CrazyBoxes that fixes the problem that appears
when you try to save your score.
Soon, maybe tomorrow, we will add more CrazyBoxes (images with cubes) to the game
We want to keep the game updated.

Adds usually need rough location and maybe internet access. Why would then need personal information?
Just a little thing I figured out that can give you the ability to save the progress of ANY game.
This can be helpful if you are playing games like where you are about to do this level that is very hard and you want the ability to restart the battle if you die and it's game over.
STEPS:
1. Make sure you have Titanium Backup installed.
2. Where ever you want to restart at, go to that spot or stage or whatever in the game, and then save the game and exit.
3. Go to Titanium Backup, go to the backup/restore tab at the top, go to your game, and click it and press "backup".
4. Then go to your game, and either beat the boss or stage or win the poker game or whatever or lose everything and die.
5. If you died, you can go back to Titanium Backup, go to the same tab and click on the game, and press "restore" data only. Congrats, you get another chance at doing the stage again!
6. If you did beat the stage, you can make another back up!
+1 Thx if this saved you time on your games!
What's the point in saving your game, making a titanium backup, and then restoring the data?
Why can't you just load from your save point again? That's pretty much the idea behind save points....
As one example, this is a great option for Gun Bros, as far as shopping for which Guns you want.
In the game's Store, you get to see the weapons' stats, but the only way to see it in actual action is to buy the thing outright and then start using it.
Right now, there's no option to sell anything you've already bought, which is a pretty big frustration especially later in the game when the decent weapons take a pretty long time to get to because you have to build up the money...So if you buy a weapon and end up wishing you got the other one, then you're SOL.
This Saving and restoring fixes that.
Tonnes of games don't design savepoints.
For example, in "World Series of Poker Holdem", I am playing in the final table of the WOSP tournament. I have pocket Aces, and this guy goes all in. If I call and lose the hand, I will be knocked out, and the $250k I put in will be gone.
Therefore, I save the game, call his all-in, and if I lose, I can restore the game and NOT call his all in.
kind of pointless
I thought that was the point of games.......... To play them

Well yeah, but some people cheat before the beat it and some people cheat after the beat it. All in all, it doesn't matter. He is just telling us how there is a loophole with games on Android. That's all.

Probably the same kind of folks that buy a game, the walkthrough, and find all of the cheat codes before even starting.
I've given myself more gold in games before to decrease the PAIN of moving through a game, and a few I've bumped up Experience to reduce the tedious "go outside town, fight until you're nearly dead, come back and rest, repeat until you're level X" but otherwise, it's no fun if you cheat every step of the way.
Just want to let you know guys that another good RPG is out and it's free on the market!

Thanks for the heads up! I'm amazed this game is free!
Does somebody know why it is free? I don't see any in game purchases yet...
I want developers to make some money so they will make another game later
Thnx for the headsup! Gonna chck it out!

its admob supported as of the moment
and yes the ad placements is sometimes distractive on gameplay as it blocks the whole screen
but i agree with you
they should make a paid version soon or else these devs'd go bankrupt
Is there an Inotia 1 or an Inotia 2 for our devices? Or was it only for iPhone/iPod/iPad?
Seems so many RPGs these days are really into these anime-style characters. It works for some games, but it's getting old.
I applaud the developers, though on their technical merits -- I'd just like to see some variety.
Does anyone know why the game needs so many permissions?

I don't think the quality of many of these games is very high though. They're all missing the mark. This looks good though and I hope we see more quality JRPGs. All we get are lousy, cliche knock offs with crappy graphics.
Thanks for sharing!
many permissions:
why?
PHONE CALLS

Why does a game need my phone number and serial number?
Why does it need to know what apps are running on my phone?
Why does it need Market Billing Service permission? Isn't it free?
Why does it need to mess around with my network settings?
Of course, full internet access is required to transmit this info out into the ether.
I'm not going to try it until these questions are answered. Call me paranoid, but I think this game requires too much.
Thoughts when compared to zenonia? I was a huge zenonia fan and that game set the bar pretty high for other anime styled rpgs

1. This is required for almost all games especially when they are resource extensive. Because it seeks permission of the android OS to kill cached running apps to make room for itself.
2. IDK
3. It needs this one because this app is ad supported. How can it get ads if its not connected to the internet?

Yeah, I think so too. Zenonia series was great, along with Illusia, another good game from Gamevil. For me, the best goes to Spectral Souls. It is beautiful 2.5D, good (super long) story, many characters (85!), for a tactical turn based rpg. Purely revamped classic.
But pretty costly though.

hi guys, wanna ask, is there any cheating tool for wp7? e.g. there is Sorcerer Game Cheating Tool for symbian that can change any values it is like cheat engine for pc. i have full unlock, so maybe in registry or somewhere else it's possible to do? just interesting ty
You could do it manually by modifying game files, but no, there's no "tool" for it that I'm aware of. I personally have absolutely no interest in developing one, either, especially because that kind of thing gets your box Live account banned (if you use it to gain achievements).
Generally speaking, games (being third-party Marketplace apps) have no access to the registry.
It is possable with SOME games. They use XML files to to do backups. It's in the protected storage for the games. If you phone is fully unlocked browse around your phone then look in each game to see if you can find the save files and open them to see if you can edit them.
I have done this on a few games that I got screwed on. One was a blackscreen issue and I could not get my final achivement and the other was a app bug that they updated, so I did the minor cheat to get me back to where I was. For example, I set the games scrore right before the achivement, so when I Started the game, I didn't have to do much to get the score.
You need to be carefull on what you do, if you get an achivement that you should not of gotten before another one, it could flag you and get banned or even lose all your gamer score.

I'm not going to help you with exactly how to "attempt it" This will get you started...
Go on windowsphone.com browse to your app..
http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/d9ff60f1-cece-45ab-80af-7397dd2072c2
d9ff60f1-cece-45ab-80af-7397dd2072c2 is the game ID
Browse on your phone where the apps are find the Game ID, then see if you can find save file (some say "save" in the name), check to see if you can edit it.
That will get you started but, I'm not going to do it for you. There is a newer file explorer that has a edit feature built in, that is what I used to do it...
Dont forget to hit thanks if this helped !
Good luck
There's plenty of info on Doom 3 here on XDA but I just wanted to let you all know that it runs very well on our device.
I've just finished playing the whole way through using a Moga Pro, with graphics set to 'ultra' using the in-game menu, plus a few tweaks in the config file. A lot of the time the frame rate sits at 60, and on a few occasions slows down into the 40s. I'm guessing it gets lower than that at times as there is a little stuttering here and there but it's over very quickly and then recovers to maximum again.
I'm using the game data from an installation on my PC that I made using a CD ROM purchased for £5 years ago from the 'sold out' range of PC titles, but you can still download it from Steam I believe.
You need to have the game patched to version 1.3.1 on your PC before copying the 'base' folder over to your device. Place it inside a folder called 'diii4a' in internal storage, then download the free Diii4a app from the Play Store.
See below for screenshots showing what options I have checked/unchecked in the launcher app. I'll attach a couple of in-game screenshots and also my config file that sits in the base folder.
There are a few glitches in the game. In some places glass textures do not load. In some areas the teleportation lighting effects look blocky. I didn't bother trying any further tweaks as it didn't spoil the experience.
If you get choppy or distorted sound, just come out of the game and launch the diii4a app again.
Finally, note that in the diii4a launcher app you can configure the on screen controls in the game. You need to find somewhere to put the keyboard icon if you want to have access to the console in game. You can also adjust the opacity of the on screen controls so that they don't get in the way.
Oops, config file....
Also, there's a glitch where the ammo counter doesn't show on the mini-gun.

Well, the app is free so you just need the game data. If you don't have a Steam account, you could buy a PC CD ROM of the game from eBay or somewhere like that. There will secondhand ones kicking around....
Edit. There are loads on eBay UK for under £4. Not sure where you are, but there will be some about if you want to keep things legit.

hi guys!
Can you please help me? I'm trying to make it run on my OP5.
The diii4a launches and all that, but when I touch on New Game, I get stuck on the loading screen foreer.
