Hi I have a Sony xperia s with the build number 6.0.A.3.62 but my bootloader is locked is there anyway that I can root my device on this build without unlocking my bootloader ? I'm new at this so any help is appreciated. Thank you
You could try SuperOneClick or UnlockRoot. Those are two PC based programs. You run them, plug in your phone and click the Root button, and then if it is possible to root your phone without unlocking the bootloader, one of those tools will most likely be able to do it.
If neither work, it probably isn't possible without unlocking the bootloader. But look in the device specific forum for your device for more guidance before unlocking the bootloader.
EDIT: It looks like currently you must unlock the bootloader for the Xperia S. There is no working exploit for rooting. The tools I advised above won't work. If you're not willing to unlock your bootloader, you can't root at this time.
Can i root my phone Sony xperia s it says bootloader unlock aloud:no but is there a way around it And if so can you tell me really hate the stock bloatware.

Unlocking the the bootloader has nothing to do with rooting. See the first link in my sig.

Great i have rooted my phone now but can i debrand it with a locked bootloader? also would i be able to install CyanogenMod?
Hey
I previously had an S3 and rooted it using Odin, however to root my Z3 can I use the program 'Root Genius'?
Just plug my device into the computer run the one click program and im done? Is it that simple? :fingers-crossed:
Thanks all
No
Currently you will have to unlock the bootloader in order to gain root. There is no way to get root on a locked bootloader ATM.
Just Google "Sony unlock bootloader" to unlock your bootloader but ensure you do your research to find out what features of your phone you will lose

Thank you.
I am unfamiliar with unlocking the bootloader and the ramifications involved in doing so, I think I will be patient and wait.
Thanks a lot for responding quickly! :victory:

It's impossible to unlock...
Is it simlocked? If it's simlocked to some network you are unable to unlock the bootloader. If you unlock the phone, you will be able to unlock the bootloader

I had several phones that were sim locked and I was unable to unlock the bootloader. After sim unlocking them I was able to unlock the bootloader. The same goes for the Xperia M2, it was locked on T-Mobile MK, after unlocking the phone I was able to unlock the bootloader.

So, I assume that if I flash a debranded firmware from Xperia M2 (My cellphone can't unlock Bootloader about the "[x]Newtork 10" is locked in SimLock) may unlock the bootloader without any troubles? Is that so? Or I'm mistaken?
If I'm correct, that'd be amazing, I'd like use other ways to personalize my phone but I can't 'cause of the stupid Bootloader xDD.
Thanks!

Debranding basically removes all the bloatware that slow your phone down. You can't sim unlock with debranding, only with special code provided by some other sim unlock sites/ebay

Exactly that. Try to enter it correctly because there is a limit on how many times you can enter to network unlock code. If it doesn't work on KitKat, downgrade it to 4.3 and enter the code. I had similar problem where I was unable to unlock on KK but on 4.3 worked fine.

Well, about that, I have a "plan", or, better said, a contract between the carrier and the cellphone, so, I must wait for two days to complete the "legal" contract. So, after that, I guess that I can unlock the device and then, unlock bootloader.
Thanks for everything!
My phone is through Bell (which I bought outright). Without an unlocked bootloader that means I can't flash custom kernals correct? Is there a way to get around this? Why is my phone's bootloader unable to be unlocked but others are? Any help / clarification appreciated.
If it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: no" then there is unfortunately no way to unlock the bootloader so you can't flash a custom kernel or most of the roms!
this can't be changed except you replace the motherboard or buy another one :/
