Difference between apps is fact that free version got advert.
WiFi Data - essential application for all WiFi users with splendid Holo interface.
It offers you presentation of all data from your WiFi device. If you have problems with your signal strength WiFi Data will help you. You can test, diagnose your WiFi signal quality and check the status of the device with our app.
With splendid UI consistent with Android Holo theme (also for Android 2.3 devices!) you will never need other WiFi app!
Four different tabs are at your service to test and see your WiFi data:
1) Connection tab – info about current connection, net and access point you are conected to. All important informations like SSID, BSSID, MAC, speed or lease duration are available, Your IP address, netmask and net gateway with dns adresses.
2) Acces points list tab – list of all visible network access points to your device. Every row describes one network with its name, channel, security and signal strength. You can sort this list by every attribute and discover networks around you!
3) Channels tab – graph presentation of visible networks with parabola shape depending on signal strength and channel on which network is working.
4) Signal tab – graph of time-dependent net signal strength. Small list showing every visible net. You can select most important network from list and watch how it's signal strength is changing in time.
Also I want to remind you my other app GPS Data https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pierwiastek.gpsdata

Hi Everyone,
I have a weird problem with my connections since upgrading to ICS. (Stock / Virtuous Inq / IC Sense 3.6 / IC Sense 4). 3G Data is used whenever the phone wants to get an estimate about my whereabouts. All active wifi connections are dropped at that stage. (Really annoying with cSipSimple)
Steps to reproduce:
- Enable 3G and WiFi, connect to WiFi
- Enable Google Location Services
- Start an app that tries to get your rough location, like Facebook or Speedtest.net
You can see the E/3G/H icon appearing and also see that data is being sent. Worse, all the apps are using this connection now (the WiFi connection seems invalid at that point). It takes about 5 to 10 seconds, then this 3G data connection is being dropped causing the apps to lose the connection to their servers. The phone then switches back to WiFi until it uses the location services again.
Can anyone confirm this behaviour?
Is there already a solution to this? I didn't find one. I could go and deactivate Mobile Data everytime I log on to a WiFi, but I really don't want to spend so much time thinking about how to use my phone and just use it... maybe a little app?
I did find an app called Smart Data Switch which has an option for what seems to be working for me

It's called "wifi preferred" and deactivates the 3G Network every time I connect to a wifi network. As soon as the connection drops, it reenables 3G data. With this, I do not suffer those problems in Facebook anymore... but is it worth 1,29€ or is there an alternative solution?
When you enable apps that check your location (why would you let facebook do that??) it then needs the 3G to check aainst the cell for you position
So it can't use wifi and 3g together therefore wifi goes off whilst it logs onto the cell for you position
Change the settings for the apps if you enable gps as you location (again why for facebook it knows avery thing about you except when you scratch your self anyway) it can stay logged onto wifi and power up gps - no loss of signal for you
Tbo I can't remember what I set, but for me (not facebook) what happens is
I'm on wifi - open up app that uses my location - gps fire up - picks up location
- gpss closes down - apps continue to have a connection - no loss of service/time and no frustration
If you rom can't do this condiser trying one that can

WiFi Companion switches your WiFi in a smart way by turning it on only when is needed in order to save battery power based on cell towers information. You can set when and where your WiFi turns on or turns off, how often it connects, at what time or even which days. It is all up to you.
Additionally, it records relevant information of every network you use so now you will not wonder where this "default" network is located, or when was the last time you used it. For every network you use, WiFi Companion (privately in your phone) stores:
- Name of the network.
- BSSID.
- Last IP address.
- Maximum speed reached.
- Precise location. This location is determined once per each network and uses GPS if available, so you can see its location on a map. You can also manually set its location.
- Last time of connection/disconnection.
In addition, for each network you can:
- Set a label to help you recognize it later.
- Set a password reminder, or even the password itself if you want it. Since Android doesn’t let you see passwords once you set them, now you can use them later or share them with someone else.
- Control its proximity calculation. Some networks are not related to cell towers location, such as mobile access points, so you can exclude them from near networks list.
- Control its precise location if you don’t want to show them on the map.
WiFi Companion provides a notification that shows you when your WiFi is turned on, so now you can easily check when you are wasting battery by not being connected. It also shows current network name, IP address and last time of connection/disconnection.

Now I'm looking for beta testers. A pretty improved beta version has been uploaded so if you want to help please join this G+ community:
https://plus.google.com/communities/109900803911277061839
And then follow this link:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.weavestudios.wificompanion
Please give it a try and let me know what you think. I'll be posting here and in the G+ page.
A new version has been published adding many features requested by you and fixing some important bugs.
It's been a while since WiFi Companion was first published and I think it's way more mature now, so please take a look and tell me what you think.
Was lurking a battery drain thread and 5G came up a couple times so I thought I'd try to switch my band and see what's up. Tried dissecting Settings to the best of my ability and couldn't find sh*t for switching to 4G.
I was determined tho, whipped out the old Google and after a couple searches found a 'Samsung Band Selection' app as a workaround, but I thought the app was overkill for what I wanted. It was pulling a native menu from Settings so I used Tiles(Nova Actions worked too) and looked through its Activities and found that menu myself

No idea if this is even useful for anyone-- thought it was neat. I'm streaming music at work and the network constantly disconnects into a limbo/tug-of-war with finding a suitable connection. Now it's a QS shortcut
Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks -> Network mode -> LTE/3G/2G
LTE is 4G. No dialer codes or fancy backdoor access required.
Right, that's where I originally got frustrated. This is what happens when I click Network Mode and why I even considered making this post
Spoiler: Screen Shots
Completely different menu compared to the unlocked version. Must be a Verizon thing.

Verizon continues to amaze me with the ridiculous chastity belt it puts on each device. Theres only one Flip3 section so I put it under general knowing that it'll only apply to a fraction
The discussions in these threads were super helpful towards my battery drain, but I wish I could follow universal guides for android
The ability to access simple things without needing the planets to be aligned..
If your current network is not working properly and you want to switch your network with verizon so you will take a good decision here you have to use WPS BUTTON OF WIFI ROUTER this network is very fast and it help you to download your work and content.
Good day.
I have the following problem.
My Phone is Xiaomi 13 (global version). Codename is "fuxi".
My rom at the moment is stable "xiaomi.eu_multi_FUXI_V14.0.24.0.TMCCNXM_v14-13"
Please be advised that every time switching on the Wi-Fi portable hotspot (for internet sharing), the MAC address (BSSID) is changed in the phone.
And the problem is Wi-Fi adapter (TP-Link TL-WN725N v3) in my car (Kia Sorento Prime) recognized it as different hotspots, and therefore not connects automatically. I have to mannually connects to new hotspot everytime. Photo and screenshots attached.

FYI, my previous phone Xiaomi Mi6 had a static BSSID of portable hotspot and the car always connects automatically which was great.
I have been looking in settings for everything related to Wi-Fi for a long time and found the following:
1. Developer options > Wi-Fi non-persistent MAC randomication
This option doesn't work! I tried ON/OFF - no any difference.
Screenshot attached.
2. Password & security > Privacy > Protection from Wi-Fi probe requests
Alternative name is "Wi-Fi Probe Protection". I've googled what is this and found the following: "XDADevelopers says that the feature appears to “randomise a smartphone’s MAC address so that the actual address is not shared with the WLAN router with a probe frame,” which is basically a request from a smartphone to scan available WiFi networks in the vicinity"
This also can be a sollution, but the problem there is no possible to disable this option. How to switch it off?
Screenshot attached.
3. Just FYI, real device mac/randomized mac can be configured in Wi-Fi saved networks only.
However in case of portable Wi-Fi hotspot (for internet sharing) - there is no such option, always randomized mac.
Screenshot attached.
Pls check on your side and fix if possible.
Pls revert with your comments/sollutions.
Many thanks in advance,
Hi, i have never had issue with this, but for second question, did you try disabling MIUI optimisation? Maybe it will then allow you to disable that option.

Hi. There is no "MIUI optimization" option in the developer settings on Xiaomi 13 (xiaomi.eu rom).
Look at screenshot.
