[HiDDEN SETTING] FLASHLIGHT volume-up long-press ALL SAMMY 4.2.2 - Galaxy S 4 General

This was originally found this on the galaxy S3 4.2.2 leak. It will work on all sammy 4.2.2 roms I assume (9505 and 9500).
1. Use a custom shortcut app from Play or Apex/Nova launcher.
2. Make shortcut from:
Activities>Settings>Torch light
3. Click on shortcut to select.
4. Enjoy!!
NOTE: ONLY WORKS WHEN THE SCREEN IS SWITCHED OFF

I can not use the flashlight two times.I can turn it on,then first i have to unlock the screen to use it again.
I think it's not only on my phone this way?
But it's useful! :good:

Yes...timeout is set to 15 sec.
For me it doesn't work so properly, but i can live with it i think

I don't know you guys, but I have a stock widget called "torch" that i can put and can simply activate the flash by tapping it, and it stays active until i turn it off tapping again

Yes but can you turn the flash light on with the screen off simply by holding volume button up?
Not quite the same thing

Doesn't work for me on my i9505.

Very cool, at first I didn't understand what this did. Should be made clear that this works only when phone screen is off, also works with a phone that has a PIN.

Doesn't work for me either. I'm unrooted and run the latest official Nordic rom (ME2)

works for me on the latest FoxHound

Hmmm never not worked for me on every Sammy 4.2.2 rom I've tried including the S3 leak

Should you manage to finish it, do share it if you can. Sadly I cannot offer you assistance in any meaningful way.
I tried patching it into CM10 but it looked too hairy for me and I didn't pursue it.
I got it working. I'll probably get a chance to publish it as a flashable zip this weekend.

I spoke too soon on this one, I do not have it working properly yet (I only got a clean compile so far from source). I also haven't touched it since last week. Had too much going on over the weekend and am way too busy at work to even post the updates to my ROM. Maybe this weekend ...

Adapt Sound - it plays a series of beeps (both high and low frequency) and asking if you can hear them. This way the phone can map the capacities of your specific headset and fine-tune its output for optimal sonic experience.
