[Q] Mtk6577 ROM's, general question - General Questions and Answers

hey guys, have one question. I have Alcatel ot-992d, 4.0", dual core, dual sim, based on mtk6577 chipset. Since i saw a lot of different phones with this chipset, which have identical specs, are all ROM's for this chipset compatible with my phone?
Thanks

NO. Alcatel uses a different structure of android, they included a "custpack" partition with alcatel specific files. basically, you can port a lot of mt6577 based roms to your device, this will need a lot of symlinking and porting skills.

[Q] help me with tut to port MTK6575 tablet 7" dual sim to Jellybean

I cannot believe no one has come with a valid jellybean rom or try to porting something for our kind of tablet:
ED88
mt6575 1GHz cortex a9
512mb ram
4gb HD
is rooted now.
build ALPS.ICS.PM.V2.2
running android 4.0.4
baseband version MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V18.2012/11/19 20:48
It has dual sim cards, resolution 1024 x 600px, hdmi, hd screen, dual cameras of 2 mpx, gps built in, bluetooth built in and gsm and 3g-wcdma built in modules.
I can give you a link for the original android 4.0.4 rom.
So someone can help with the tutorial of how to cook a jellybean rom for it...or it is a lost battle.
Thanks.
bump, please someone able to help me out.

[Completed] [Q] Flash Android 4.4.4 Kitkat or other ROM to MTK china phone.. is it possible??

Hello! I want to upgrade my MTK china phone (model UBTEL U8 octa-core, MTK 6592 processor) from android 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 KitKat or higher.
If none of the previous options is possible, anyone here knows about a custom ROM for this model or for ANY MTK 6592 PROCESSOR?
So, the question is, exsits and it's possible to flash a "general" ROM that fits with every MTK 6592 model and it's not for a single device?
Actually, my phone is rooted and i have a custom recovery installed.
Thank you for your help!

Have a look here: Custom ROM Central > AOKP General > AOKP Discussion > Mtk 6592 custom rom..
And here is a guide how to port a ROM to your device: Android Development and Hacking > Miscellaneous Android Development > [TUT] [TOOL] MT65xx ROM Porting.
Good luck !
Thread closed and thank you.

[Completed] [Q] Porting a ROM to my phone possible?

Hey, I have a Micromax Canvas 2 Colors phone. And there are very less developers or porters for this phone. I've seen a couple of threads in XDA about porting roms and stuff. I wanted to know is it possible for me to port a rom from Moto G II Gen to my phone? Every spec is the same except for the processor. I've got a Mediatek one while the Moto G has a qualcomm one. Both are Cortex - A7. I'm new to XDA as well as porting and stuff. Any help will be really appreciated.
I do not recommend trying this if you`re not experienced. However a good place to start is here
That is full of information you can check out
Good luck
