Hi. I bought Note N8010 yesterday and everything is OK, almost. When I turned on the device I notice yellow text with spec of the device on the home screen. If I use any other program and go to menu the box desapear but as soon as I return on home screen I have yellow box and text. Its early for rooting the device and trying to fix the problem in that way, so does anybody have the solution or have to ask for replacement. Thanks in advance.
Its called Factory Mode. The only way I know of to get it of it requires root though, unfortunately.

If you bought it yesterday then take it back to be replaced under warranty... It isn't supposed to be like that...

Ok, so your phone isn't broken, just get that off your chest.
You will need to now flash a recovery on your phone. Go find the thread started by sk8erwithskil I believe is his tag. You will need to use the one and also follow the steps for Odin. Once you've done that, I also believe in the developers section is an Odin for the official ICS for our phone. Download it and follow the instructions for that.
Your phone should be back up and running after this two steps but please read every detail before you start doing stuff. You can wreck your phone in a blink if you don't. I'm in bed but I'll subscribe and check back in the morning.

read the last part of my sig, goto the 2nd link in my sig, you cant use a mac w/odin unless its running windows using bootcamp or emulation, i dont trust the emulation though
Great post asking for help and great responses. THIS is the xda I miss.
As a side note, it seems he was simply updating between official releases. This should be fixed by ATT/Samsung if he doesn't want to tinker with it, right?

My GT-P6200 just ressurected from bricked a few days ago. Samsung centre change the mainboard. After a while i just notice there are some app called "Factory Mode" on the Home Screen. Its like a calculator. I dont know what the hell is that thing, so i just leave there.
My main concern here is, my tablet no longer have the lock screen. I cant lock my screen from the setting menu, no matter what i did. Same goes to power button issue. Whenever i long push the power button, my tablet when shutdown without any other option like reboot.
I've read and tried the solution by senior member tracid from Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android Development, but no luck with that.
Really need help with this issue, i dont know if im the only one with this problem after changing the mainboard. Pls help me with this issue.
Thanks in advance
Hi, I have the same problem, and like you, the issue started after the main board replacement by Samsung. Tried to revert, back to GB, wipe data but no Lock screen.

heres another helpful thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611796
also read through the 10.1 thread and try everything.
or you could always return/call samsung and tell them you cant use your tab like this and to fix it right/do some QC, before letting this stuff out the door.
cheers
thanks chris,
guess im sending my device back to Samsung this morning. Dont how long it takes to repair this. Samsung Service in my place damn too slow, it took them 1 month to change my main board.
Hey. hope someone has a good idea:
tablet had a display crack
was unlocked
i let it repair with rma
they wanted to change the motherboard. i said no motherboard is not brocken, just unlocked
they repaired the crack
i got tablet back
now i can start the device. but nothing is shown on the display. it stays dark (with white background light).
But tablet is running. i can hear starting sound and if i connect tablet to PC i can access all files on the device like normal.
but still nothing is shown on the display. not even starting logo, recovery screen... nothing.
any idea?
Customer care says: yeah you have to replace the motherboard, because its broken.... but it is not broken. it works fine. it just seams that the connecten between display and motherboard is not working correctly.. any idea? any help?
asus wants over 250€ for the motherboard!
i feel tricked
Well the motherboard is fine if the tablets does boot and work but it might be that the connaction to screen and the motherboard isnt working right .
And if the screen worked befor you sent it they should have fix it themselves because the problem happend when they had the tablet.
Btw. I am new here so i might be wrong
But i do know a few thing and it doesn't look like it should happend if tge glass itself was the only thing broken.

thats the way i see it. thanks for the reply.
i think they try to make money and say "MB is unlocked = brocken = need new one" $$
and i dont like that!
anyone got a good idea what to do to create more pressure on asus end?
Once you have unlocked you cant do anything because it voids the warenty
And i have a problem with my tablet and i cant realy do anything about it .
So bad luck for us

So my S3 dropped and the glass & digitizer broke.
I'm looking to sell it locally to whoever may want it for parts (maybe it will sell?)..
I want to Odin back to stock before selling, but I cant see anything on the screen at all, just black and no response whatsoever.
Can I still Odin or are there steps during the process that require the phone to be used??
Thanks in advance.
No, go into download mode and press volume up. I don't believe you need to touch the screen at all, but I've only used it once. Most of it is done on the computer

You don't need to do anything using the screen except see it at the right moment to know when to hit "Volume + Up". You might be able to get lucky though.... After it vibrates, hesitate one second or so and then hit Vol+Up.
hi guys,
first i'm very sorry about my short english. i'm korean.
i used well my phone over a year.
but about a week ago, my phone suddenly got touching problem.
volume and hold button work well but only touch screen don't work.
so i went to service center to fix it,
then manager(?) did factory reset with my phone.
after reset, my touch work well.
manager said 'application in your phone had problem'
recently i upgraded from jelly bean to ics
but there was no problem for 1 months
anyway about 1 hour later, touch don't work again.
next week i went back to service center again,
this time manager said 'main board inside of your phone cracked because i droped a lot.
but if main board got crack, it is normal that hold and volume button don't work too.
in my case only touch don't work.
now question
1. what you guy think about this problem
2. do you know how to factory reset from computer?
i didn't check usb debuging so i can't use adb.
home button of my phone is also touch. so i can't use recovery mode.
