@akya22 i want to ask you that in your rom both Super use and SuperSu are installed which i should remove
You should remove superuser and leave SuperSU. That's according to changelog. But there shouldn't be superuser, are you sure you made a clean install?
remove anyone bcuz its only grant permission for ur root apps...
I have removed Superuser and added SuperSU. Please note that the name of SuperSU apk is Superuser.apk which resides in /system/app. Are you referring to that?
Also I think you should post questions related to my ROM in ROM's thread itself. I could have easily missed this question...

Which application is better, superuser or superSU?
Now I have installed superuser, if I install superSU, I can delete superuser without problem?
Thanks for the answers!
The SuperSU suppose to be better for ICS. I upgrade from Superuser to SuperSU on my tablet without a problem.
Install SuperSU, install the binary then delete Superuser.
I got SuperSU. But that was only because my brother who likes to tinker with his android installed it for me.
Don't they both do the same job ? Im not fussed as lng as root apps have to ask for permission
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
I has bought Superuser for my Desire. Now with my One S i will unlock and root in next days.
But have anyone a clue why SuperSU (2.37€) can be better as Superuser?
I've rooted my Samsung Galaxy S2X and updated with SuperUser 3.1.3.
Is there anyway for me to change/update this Super User to SuperSU v0.99 ? How can I do that? Do I need to re-flash the SuperSU.zip file again from Recovery?
Reason being SuperSU v0.99 is user to use, I could grant/deny apps from the options.
Thanks.

You will need to delete the current su binary on your system partition, then flash ss. Though superuser is the superior app and has all the necessary settings. Easiest way is through the team win recovery project - TWRP - file manager.

I've deleted the superuser.apk using root explorer and then I install SuperSU from market play. When performing the update, it says update failed. Now I cannot access to my Titanium Backup. Luckily I've performed backup using TWRP and restored back all the files.
Is there any other way to update to SuperSU? Can I just use TWRP to flash the SuperSU file (found this rar file "Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed") directly? Please advice. Thanks
Yeah, simply download supersu from play store and install it. Open it and it will ask you to update su binary, then superuser will ask for permission, allow. Then use a root un installer app or root explorer and delete the superuser.apk and reboot phone
I have some questions about root.. I have searched for the questions below but i didn't get my answer.

Answers:-
1. Uninstalling of superuser with clean Unroot will Remove Root Binary from System and will effect Root, as without SU app you cant play with Root..
2. No, You Can't.
3. No they won't Function. You can uninstall Root apps if they are in System Folder other you will be able to uninstall.

But tell me one more thing what superuser does.. i think superuser app only gives the permission to the root apps to install something in root area.. right? superuser app work is just to allow or deny the permission to the app right..?
So if i don't unroot my phone and if i just simply remove superuser app then i still should be able to install root apps in the root? because my phone is rooted.. and i have just removed superuser app which gives permission only.
I think superuser only gives the permission to the app SO apps will be intall in the root just without any permission of superuser?? this is what superuser does ONLY?
I think i am misunderstanding something about superuser.. Correct me please if i am wrong.. :good:

Yes,
It gives permissions to access, modify your Root area[Restricted when you are Non-Rooted].
No,
Removing SU app will remove permissions with It. So after that you cant use those Rooted app which you gave Permissions when u had SU App.
Note:- Without any SU app you can't Play your System Files..
nor your rooted apps will work..

S4 mk2 i337 soft bricked...
This is the link I started dealing with:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
Problem is, I uninstalled a system file or two...or 15...and now the phone will start up, but no apps show up, just black screen. I can navigate still and work around it, but what i CAN'T do is give permission to that batch file once it recognizes the phone.
Obviously, I didn't know what I was doing, so I didn't realize that unrooting it wouldn't solve the problem, so I need to root, and then somehow get my system files back in place. Titanium Backup says my back up doesn't exist...pretty frustrated, I've spent 10+ hours on this site and some others trying to get back in, so I apologize upfront for possibly missing a post elsewhere
S4 MK2 I337
all these google play apps say : supersu permission needed, but the root features work 100% ok without supersu on my phone(its like my phone automaticly give them permission)
question is does superuser do anything and is it needed for safestrap install of rom(would it work without it?)
Superuser/SuperSU/etc only manages root access. If your device is already rooted and you don't have a root manager, then every app can get root.
The description for SU in the XDA-University dictionary explains it better than I could.
In our project we "lock down" the device and let only our homescreen app running.
therefore we remove all unnecessary apps, and wondering if we can remove superuser or supersu.apk
of course we need root rights, but we dont need the controlling app
we have tested it on many devices, there are a lot where we could remove supersu.akp and our app kept the root right, but on many other devices we lost the root when we removed it
is there anything we have to handle before we remove it, or how does it work?
thanks,
@oisiss, root is dependent on whether or not there are the su binaries existent in /system/bin (among other things). SuperSU is just a root management app, and its being installed does not affect the root access in the device.

Hello, thank you for your reply, but i have to disagree:
1., to check whether the device is rooted or not is not as simple to check if the su binary exists in the /system/bin folder. even if that exists it can happen that our app (and of course many others: rootchecker, es file explorer...) doesnt get admin rights
2., if it would be so simple the root checker app in the google play wouldnt have 10M-50M downloads
3., in our app we also check if the device is rooted, for that we check 5-6 methods: if the su exists, remounting rw the system foder, run su command, create and delete file in a secured folder...
4., many threads talking about how to replace supersu with superuser. all is telling to install superuser first and only after remove the original supersu, so they never mention to remove supersu firts
we have in our lab aprx 60 devices, made many tests, and this is my question:
1., when there is a properly rooted rom, checked by rootchecker.apk
2., we delete supersu.apk from the system/bin and restart the device
3., we check with rootchecker.akk again and says unrooted
so is there any hidden settings somewhere where for example there are default setting for granting or denying root request? or why do we loose the admin righs
I think there is an aswer:
if the original root was not complete (http://su.chainfire.eu/), it can cause issues
the Install-recovery.sh has to be corrected before deleting the supersu.apk (su, daemonsu...)
can someone confirm this?

I am fully aware that root is not as simple as su being in /system/bin. :silly:
