So i have succesfully flashed my GAPPS and have it running smooth.but in my angst to get the device rooted and flashed i never did what i needed to in QPST..now i cant get back into diag mode for the system to load the device on the port. I see that people are just flashing back stock and doing it, but from what ive been seeing lately are alot of missing links and bricked photons. Is there anyway i can get this done with my phone and sanity intact. The phone is finally running almost flawlessly on the new rom..But i HAVENT ADDED IT TOO CRICKET YET!!!!OMG
You could try booting into recovery mode and see if QPST recognizes the device there. On my previous device, there is a similar issue where the hidden menu dialer codes don't want to work (or work properly) when a specific ROM is installed on the phone. Someone figured out that while CDMA toolbox (or whatever it's called) wouldn't recognize a device with that ROM running, it found the same device just fine when the phone rebooted into the recovery.
still didnt work
I tried the recovery meth still no go. I downloaded diff drivers no luck..I really dont wanna pay the Aholes at the store 50.00 to finish the remaining 2% of what i started.. Plus theyre gonna pull the whole i can only get talk and text bs..!!!!!! Ive been looking at different threads but i just dont see anything that sticks out as a solution. No ##DATA# ##DIAG# no keypad combo ive tried works...HELP DONATIONS will certainly be applicable to this matter for anyone who can truly guide me through this bs..
Just use RSD to downgrade. There's 2 lines to remove, and if you go back to ICS I think there's some additional lines.
Next time, take a backup before flashing anything!
You're not supposed to to QPST stuff when you're not on stock rom. Necessary files on the phone are simply not included. Flash stock JB FXZ, do your QPST stuff, flash back Carbon. No other way.
Any QPST stuff won't work on CM10.1 based ROM. I used to run QPST on stock ROM. You should flash back to your stock ROM using RSD Lite. After finish flashing to your own carrier, then you are good to go to mod your phone.

What software is that second image? It looks like it's running on Windows, not the phone. But it's definitely not radiocomm or RSD. Looks useful.

I was playing around last night with updating my phone with a different and everything was fine. Today, I installed the proper kernel and it installed and ran fine. I decided I would install a different kernel, one that has audio via USB for the dock and after I selected the file with Odin, I started the install and then I noticed Odin said something about it being finished and removed. Now I started my phone and it just sits at the screen that says Galaxy S. The phone will not start and I cannot get into recovery or download mode. I have tried every button combination I could find online. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get into either download mode to install the kernel again, or recovery so I can just install the zip to reload the software.
Have you tried a jig or adb to get into download mode?
Sent from 234 Elm Street
I have never been able to properly get adb working, I know I am doing something wrong, but I actually just finally got it working. I was able to use One Click Root to have it restart my phone into recovery mode and I was able to reinstall the software and kernel. Everything is going good now, except I can't use the kernel I wanted to use because I don't know if it has CWM3.
This is the kernel that I actually wanna install.

You have SOFT bricked it which means you can get it out of it without JTAG at this point. Go to YouTube and search ODIN 1 Click and watch the video I made to help flash stock firmware.
Any updates OP?
Have you tried taking out and reinserting the battery then volume up, volume down while inserting your USB cable? That saved me one time. Then I bought a JIG.
Thanks for all the help, but I actually figured it out. I had forgotten I installed bootloaders and it changed the button combinations for Continuum.
My phone is dying prematurely, with my camera crapped out and my usb port not fully functional. My phone can charge but it can't be recognized by a computer anymore.
I'm sending it in for a replacement, but I realized now that I can't flash back to Froyo easily. I'm stuck in CM7, and factory reset brings me back to a fresh CM7. I don't want Motorola to use the fact that I used CM7 as an excuse to charge me $300.
Can someone help me please?
you can try restore froyo nandroid backup via custom recovery...
I'll have to remenber tha latest SBF that you flashed on your devide, have a friend with a Defy, flash it on that Defy, give him your SD card to put a full nandroid backup on it ...
basically you need to restore a nandroid backup of froyo of your region since you cannot flash the full sbf. There are already nandroid backups available in xda.
If you have wifi use a simple app called Ftpdroid to copy it to your memory card and restore.
If you do not have wifi then try coping the file using a card reader and restore.

My computer does not recognize my phone when it's in Bootloader mode.
I installed the Nordic Rom to use CM7. So I need a nandroid backup. Does anyone know where I can get one?
Whenever I try to connect my phone to USB...
It says there's an error with the device. Windows 7 reports an unknown device, and error 47. That's why I believe there is something wrong with my usb port.
Progress:
I can't load into CM7 anymore, nor the stock rom. I can access the CM7 boot menu however, and go into Clockwork.
I tried a Motorola factory reset, and I tried changing the boot sequence (stock, 2nd-init, 2nd-boot) but no luck.
I'm a little stuck here guys
Have you installed USB drivers? Check all in beginners guide.

You talk about your Defy not being recognized as USB disk?
Did you disable USB Debugging? So the USB Mass Storage option can be enabled after.
The data function in my usb port isn't working, my phone cannot be recognized at all. Even with three different cables and drivers installed.
Any ideas?
Is there a way to repair the port?
Could it have water damage? If it could, let the cap open and let it rest for a couple if days. Open it up and check for visible signs of damage/corrosion. Would not do this if you are trying to claim warranty.
To restore, go to the sbf threat, there are links to the individual threats of each. Normally, you can find there the nand. Place it in the right folder and restore it with cwm. Remove the battery and go to stock recovery. Wipe cache and data. Try to remember what sbf you were on, but don't think it matters much... Don't guaranty it will work. You could try to find someone who wants to try it as they can always flash a sbf if it doesn't work.
Sent from my MB525
i can help u with a nand of any sbf u want...just send me a pm or post here and in 1 hour i will upload it
just be sure u say the correct one, coz any boot cm7 version changes ur kernel, and the nand wont work
LE: after u restore the nand, just use the moto recovery, wipe data/cache so ur phone is back to stock, no root no custom recovery and u can take it to warranty
LLE: i guess i need to make a nand of the tmobile us version also so u can return it to the shop
Hmmm
Hmm but I flashed a nordic sbf. :/
I don't mind restoring nordic though, as long as there's no sign of cyanogen mod. I can replace the bootlogo and animation there.
I have used Cyan 7 for months with none of the problems you are describing. I also dont use any base and wonder why people are so pushy on using a base.
I go into recovery, Wipe all, Then install cyan then gapps.
It sounds to me you did or didnt do something during install.
Download the newest cyan 7 rom
Get into the stable recovery and wipe everything, even dalvik under advanced
Flash cyan
Flash gapps
reboot.
I promise it will work
Base doesn't matter, it gets replaced by stable releases. I think he tries to restore it to claim warrant.

I think you may have overreacted and made things worse. Sometimes my data function stops working in CM7 - it fixes itself after a warm reboot or two.
Hey everyone, I'm quite the lurker on these forums and don't post very often at all. I just want to first and foremost say that everyone here has been amazing and the work that has gone on for this phone is truly astonishing.
Now, with that being said... I'm bricked.
I was running CM7 today and decided (don't ask why) to try that ICS for the i9003. Dumb move. Hopefully someone is getting a laugh out of this as well.
I expected the results to be bad, but not disastrous. In the process of trying to do this I bricked the phone. When I had the ICS ROM on it, it got stuck on the AT&T screen. No worries, I made a back up this morning... I figured just pop back into recovery and restore myself back to normal and everything's fine.
Well, here's where it gets bad. I cannot get into recovery. After multiple attempts of trying to get into recovery. ADB nor Odin even see my phone in download mode. I do have a USB JTAG jig, which has saved me quite a few times.
I started downloading stock ROM's like crazy today. The only one that I could get to install was stock 2.3.5 with Boog's kernel with CWM. I booted into the OS and all seemed well at the time... except there's no modem! I have no internet, service, or anything. This is the only time ADB can see my phone, is when it's booted up. As soon as it's in download mode, ADB can no longer see my phone. The same with ODIN.
ODIN sees my phone when it's booted up, but doesn't actually make the handshake for an install of another version. I've tried to root it, in hopes of being able to push ROM Manager, Super User, and restore my back up in CWM. This didn't work either. During the rooting, using a one-click, it hangs up trying to run the psneuter exploit.
If I'm booted into this 2.3.5 stock of android with no modem, I tried to reboot into recovery using ADB running reboot recovery. This just boots the phone back into Android as if there's no recovery on the device at all.
Soon as I'm back in download mode I cannot push any files with ODIN or ADB. Neither one of them see my device at this point. Even using the JTAG jig.
This is where I'm now at. I'm not sure what else to try at this point. Is there a reason that my device is no longer being recognized in ADB when in download mode?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to scour forums and search engines with no luck so far. This is my only phone, so it's a little depressing to be without any means of communication on the go, but that's the chance you take...right?
p.s. I do have all the Samsung USB drivers as I normally push files with ADB and have just done so earlier this week. Had the same luck on my computer at work today. So, I know it's not a PC related issue.
Thank you to everyone in advance.
I've also tried to push a modem to the phone with no luck.
I installed 2.3.5 with the Executable JAR of Heimdall AndroidOS 2.3.5 to push the files and that JAR version is the only device that will install to my phone and makes the handshake. Just no modem
You may want to give Heimdall a try - it installs its own USB drivers, so it's possible it might be able to see your phone that way. Nevermind - just saw your post. Which Heimdall did you grab?
Also try switching USB ports - sometimes a different port makes a difference.
There's a one-click in my signature if you need it.
I believe it was the one in your signature to be honest. Which is the only one that recognizes my phone in download mode.
I get it to boot to Android, but that's where I'm stuck. Can't get into CWM from that stock ROM. I'm assuming it would have to be rooted to even use CWM, and I was unable to one-click root it.
edit: Just to be sure I did try the one in your sig. It installs no problem, but ROM manager crashes and the screen distorts right before home screen loads. Once it's loaded it seems OK. Might be a boot loader issue.. but not sure. Once in download moad Odin3 doesn't recognize the device. The one click app does, but not Odin3 v. 1.3 to flash rooted kernel. It just doesn't recognize the device for some reason, but java installer still recognizes it.
I cannot get into CWM as it just crashes. Doesn't reinstall correctly, gets stuck on running privileged commands. Cannot boot into it since it's a privileged command as well. Only version of odin that recognizes my phone is the one in your link and it's a JAR Exe lol. This is the strange part.. no modem. Just got the wifi to work to at least make it to the market place. Still no modem, broadband is 'unknown'.
When I go back into download mode to flash a kernel in Odin v1.3 it doesn't recognize my device. ADB does not recognize my device. The java installer for the stock rom I just used in your sig still recognizes the device. Only the java installer recognizes it. Tried using Heimdall 1.1 for the kernel flash and it also does not recognize my phone.
I do have an HP TouchPad running CM7 alpha 2.1 as well. Not sure if this will help, unless someone can think of something clever by having an extra Android device. Just throwing it out there.

As far as I know, that should have CWM installed in the file. Depending on which bootloaders you have, either holding V+ and Power from a powered-off state, or V+/V-/Power should put you straight into CWM.
If that isn't working for you, but you're at least on a Gingerbread rom, try this. It appears Heimdall is ok with your phone, and this kernel I'm certain has CWM baked in. You might bootloop, but you should definitely get to CWM from this.
That's exactly what it was. That version of Heimdall in the link you provided solved my issue.
Thank you so much!
Glad to hear it.
Samsung Galaxy s 4g T959V-Gingerbread. Rooted it with SuperOneClick... Didnt have CWM. when I tried to install Black Ice and ICNINB. Tried doing with Rom Manager. Then read that doesn't work with this phone. Was able to flash AltonX KJ6 kernal through SGS kernel flasher in order or get CWM on the phone. That worked. But when I went to flash the zip files for the roms again. They still didn't work. I thought I was following the directions. Get into download mode> create a backup> wipe data> make sure the mounts were right> then flash the zip file. Well the first time I did i,t it kinda went through. Although I didn't have RED CWM or Linda. Wanted to get Voodoo and LagFix. So I decided to flash again. When it came time to reboot.. it got stuck in a loop between two different Samsung screens. One with a big swoopy S the other just the normalt-mobile samsung screen before it boots up. Going from one to the other never really rebooting. So again I decided to get into download mode again and then flash a recovery backup file. And NOW it just hangs on the Samsung T-Moblie screen. I've tried battery pulls also tried using a JIG. Screen pops up but just freezes there.
Any suggestions??

you don't want voodoo lagfix. unreliable, imho.
Try eollie's stock + root in the second post my oneclick thread. It's a stock rom and blastoff v2.5.
Run the oneclick the first time to flash just the kernel and rom.
Click flash bootloaders.
reboot phone to download mode again
flash again, this time with bootloaders.
After that, you should be golden.
Don't forget to read the directions in the OP.

Thank you so much for getting back to me. A couple of questions if I may?
1) if I'm able to get the samsung screen, does that mean I'm able to get into Download mode? It just seems to hang on that samsung T-Mobile screen.
2) The link to dropbox that I'm supposed too click on, seems to be broken... Stock_KJ6_+_root-One-Click.jar (this has the blastoff v2 kernel)- https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10373328/Stock KJ6 + root-One-Click.jar -
Here's what comes up: Error (404)
We can't find the page you're looking for. Check out our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home.
3) Assuming that I'm able to get to download mode, I just want to check to make sure that I'm reading your directions correctly.
- when I run OneClick the 1st time, it will automatically apply just the kernel and rom.
- Then I'm supposed to reboot? Or flash the bootloaders?
- After that I'm supposed to reboot phone to download mode again.
- Flash Bootloaders again??
I'm sure I'm messing up the directions or rather misreading them.

Yes. Sometimes even if the phone seems to turn on and go to a black screen, you might still be able to get to download mode.
Seriously, this phone is like a tank... unless you flash gt-i9000 or vibrant roms. Then you will brick your phone.

Put your phone into download mode, either by holding vol+ and vol- and plugging in the usb from your computer (keep holding vol+ and vol- till you see download mode) or use a jig.
Once your in download mode. Flash the first time. Yes, it will only flash the kernel and rom. The phone will automatically reboot after the flash.
Wait a little bit after the phone reboots, you'll see a little local update happen and reboot the phone again. Then pull the battery and put the phone back into download mode.
Then check the "flash bootloaders" checkbox. flash the oneclick again this time with bootloaders.
After this, you can go anywhere from this rom, except back to froyo. I'm still working on a simple oneclick method for going back to froyo.

It's me again... Sorry if I'm being a pain..
So I downloaded the link.. I have it on my desktop...I put my phone into download mode..(Yellow Triangle> Do not unplug).. I clicked on your OneClick... it loads but then tells me to connect my device... It keeps telling me I'm disconnected..
When I plug my phone into my compt via USB.. it now tells me that my device is unrecognized.
Now what did I do wrong?
I was hoping I was close to a resolution... another roadblock.
Can I fix it?
Once again, thank you for any and all the help and advice you have given me.
There is s thread called fresh out of the box now what. It will help you immensely. Sounds like you need to uninstall all samsung and android drivers and reinstall them. In that thread there is a application for your computer called usbview that can remove them (I probably misspelled that apps name). The thread is by lumin30.

Is it a matter of drivers? Can I get them offline? and then plug in my phone?

I just went to the samsung website and downloaded the drivers from there.. Still having the same problem... usb device has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it.
IIRC when you plug the phone in you need to stop it from installing the samsung drivers. Then use zadig to install them like illustrated in lumin30s guide.
Be sure to use a rear usb port if on a desktop. Dont change ports if things start to work. If you have to use a different port I suggest using usbdeview to remove drivers each time. It seems like overkill but it might work.

The screen now says:NO SIM CARD IN PHONE
AFTER YOU INSERT THE CARD, PLEASE REBOOT
EMERGENCY CALLS CAN BE USED
The SIM card is already installed... the phone is not recognizing it now.
What now??

IIRC when you plug the phone in you need to stop it from installing the samsung drivers. Then use zadig to install them like illustrated in lumin30s guide.
Be sure to use a rear usb port if on a desktop. Dont change ports if things start to work. If you have to use a different port I suggest using usbdeview to remove drivers each time. It seems like overkill but it might work.

One more thing, I installed Stock_KJ6_+_root-One-Click.jar (this has the blastoff v2 kernel)... That should mean the phone is rooted.. correct? although I don't see SUPERUSER in my apps list.. Also does this have CWM installed? Can I flash a custom rom moving forward?? If so which one do you consider the best? I originally was having trouble because I was running into low internal memory and couldn't download many apps. That's why I wanted to flash BLACK ICE originally.. I thought that would fix my problem..
This phone suffers from low internal memory. However you can move almost all apps to your sdcard from within the rom. If the things that do not work on the JB roms are ok with you I hear good things about those.
As for the sim card..Im not sure. The one click you used doesnt have SU included because it is a stock rom with custom rooted kernel. You would have to install it from the Play store. But I reccomend flashing a different rom anyway. Again the JB roms seem to be pretty awesome so that is a option.

Did I do something wrong because I didn't pull the sim card when I flashed: Stock_KJ6_+_root-One-Click.jar (this has the blastoff v2 kernel). Also does Stock_KJ6_+_root-One-Click.jar (this has the blastoff v2 kernel) come with CWM Red?

reboot to cwm (recovery). wipe cache partition. advanced -> wipe dalvik cache. advanced -> fix permissions. reboot phone. Let it sit for a few minutes before doing anything (I'd say 10-15 minutes).
Oh weird. did that oneclick come with blastoff v2 and not 2.5?
Hmm, then do this. download blastoff v2.5, put that on your sdcard and install it from red cwm.
Then do what I said above. You should be back to blue after rebooting to recovery after flashing that kernel.
EDIT: if you really want red cwm (voodoo lagfix), I really don't know why you'd want that, but checkout my older subtly modified stock kernel.

No..no.. I'll definitely take your word for it.. I'll stick with the blue. I just thought that with the lagfix, it would fix my problem with internal memory.
My problem now is my SIM card.. The phone reboots and I get : NO SIM CARD IN PHONE
AFTER YOU INSERT THE CARD, PLEASE REBOOT

I did as you said:

Should I still install: download blastoff v2.5?
Thank you again for ALL your help.. You guys saved my phone..
some notes
rooted using Root RK29 Tab Toolkit 1.3.
reset and vol + = flash mode rock usb.
RKAndroidToolv1.37 and RKBatchToolv1.7 work for flashing.
used rock usb driver included in either of the flash
tools. when flashing several things needed done to
enable flashing and or adb. do not enable usb storage
on the device. on windows pc used the safely remove
mass storage tool. only on the removable drives that
showed in my computer after plugging in the tablet.
in RKAndroidTool or RKBatchTool use the "switch" button
to put the unit into flash mode. I used RKAndroidTool
to flash the cwm. I tried several cwms, PER5274B_CWM.zip
was only one to boot to recovery for me
(tried many including ones from developerof cwm, just
happened to find one to boot after trying
over and over). so far. succesfully made full backups of
the unit to sd card. obviously mount the ext sd in cwm
first before backing up to sd. succesfully flashed
gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip using PER5274B_CWM.
the stock recovery tool rejected all gapps. note gapps
sometimes closes for no apperent reason with no error.
all other gapps versions i tried crash soon as i
opened them.
cwm file working so far PER5274B_CWM.zip. have only figured
out how to boot to recovery using reboot apk.
key combo is unknown to me so far. actively trying other cwms.
Other cwm's have booted to a white screen for me.
a word to the wise, make full flash backup soon as you
get cwm on. its the only way to turn back to stock as
far as i know. I cannot find a factory rom for this
unit anywhere.
downloading cm 10.1 for rk29xxboard now, will report
results!
Cheers hope this helps out someone.
well cm10 didnt work out so well. the unit is now resting with no response. I can however still flash it with rkandroidtool. the issue I am facing now is I do not have a full dump image for this unit. I am looking for one that will at least allow me to get it to boot properly to cwm lol. I can see it with rkbatchtool as well. what I would need there is the proper parameter file. pretty sure thats all I need. I did happen to make a backup with cwm but if I cant get the tablet into cwm (currently a no go) thats not going to help me. figures I have since found out how to generate a parameter file.
good news is its not dead, just not working.
I have gotten my moneys worth out of it, not only in using this tablet but also in hacking the thing passing time.
will report further updates.
Cheers!
Well its running again, after many firmwares etc. I have the stock firmware running and two others I have modded removing system Apks I didn't want and adding a few as well.
Have several cwm backups as well, a few I plan to post links to. Googleplay works to, root, cwm and busybox also.
Still trying to get hardware keys working to launch cwm at boot by editing the parameter file. It will run when I edit the file with notepad++ and flash it but then I end up in a cwm boot loop forcing me to reflash the orig parameter file to get out of it. Cold boot will get me out if I completely drain the battery otherwise nothing short of flashing it will get me out of cwm. Using notepad++ and inserting "COMBINATION_KEY: 0,6,A,7,0" right after the kernel IMG line gets the power + volume key to start cwm at boot. Then I can't get back out lol.

Stinkster,
Have you made any other progress? Got my kids couple LT7035-F tablets.
Thanks
To the both of you... LT7035-J
curtisint has firmware for model lt7035-j; however, when using rkbatchtool it fails at 97%. My tab is only able to connect to the pc as of now. I can see it with batchtool; however, have not found a firmware.img file to flash to it that completes and works. Very interested in the parameters file you speak of in your second post. Don't know what you know now but I was able to get it root with a tool I found on the net. I think I have it somewhere. Well anyway I was trying to reflash stock firmware because I had no sound just a popping noise/key tone which was silent only when mute. If anyone could help out with a firmware.img that will work for me that would be great.
stink you sound like you know what you are talking about, do u java develop or something?
