So sometimes when I try and send an sms it "fails". I get a notification saying message not sent and a little red triangle in the sms app. However the message did infact send. I will get a response and if I hit retry the recipient will get it twice. I don't have great service at my house but I have a network extender. I am running Beans ROM build 15 with AOSP messaging but it also happened on stock. Is there a way to fix this? If not is there at least a way to remove the little red triangles from the conversations view?
Thanks!

So I was able to update my rom to the new 5.11.502.2 rom for the HTC Fuze on At&t. I have been enjoying the update, and it seems like the reception is improved.
But I did run into a problem....iono if someone could verify if this is correct or not. So when ever i send a mass text, i would only get one thread for the message and not for each other person i sent the mass text to. With the original stock rom, whenever you send a mass text, a thread conversation starts for each person you sent the mass text to.
i think everything about the text messages in the update is buggy. when i get a text and then reply but still stay inside the thread, my text message icon in the status bar stays there and then when i get more than one text from the same person and then go back to the message list it says there there is still unread messages even though i already replied to them.
That's been an issue for forever.
Nah, this is different. In the stock ROM, it used to automatically show the message was read, just by opening it. Now I have to scroll up to the message to show I've read it.
Sure, it's not that much of a hassle by itself, but when you text as much as I do, pressing the up botton a few times and then bringing it back down, just so the notifications go away, becomes a daunting task.
It's almost depressing.
Not in this way though... it used to be that I could just open the message, and it would register that it was read. Now, I have to manually scroll up to show I've read it.
It's not a huge problem, unless you text as much as I do. It's a major nuisance. Is there a registry tweak we can change to mark it as read upon opening? NOT having to scroll to the message itself, in the thread?
HTC-HD2I live in Houston Texas. I have a incredibly annoying issue with my phone. I am not sure if it is a issue with the ROM's that I get and install or if there is something wrong with the service from T-Mobile in Houston.
I will type up a SMS message to send a friend. I press the send button and I get a pop-up message saying that Message not sent Try Again.
Either I have to click the red text 5-20 times if not more to try resending my text again or sometimes I do not get the convent resend option and I have to go back into the text and highlight what I wanted to send and click Menu and Forward it to the person several times till it finally goes through.
Wanted to see if anyone else anywhere has the same problem or if it is a known issue is there a FIX for it.
Thank you,
Ralph
No matter what ROM I flash when I send a long text that converts to MMS it turns into random garbled characters. It appears to send fine on my end but whoever I send it to gets an unreadable text. This happens with every ROM and with any messaging app I try. I'll attach a screenshot of what it looks like. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks
Also...
I have tried multiple messaging apps such as Handcent and I get the same results. I'm aware that I can split the messages into multiple SMS as a workaround but I really just want it to convert long messages to MMS like it supposed to and not send them as garbage. Thanks.
Ummmm.....I could be wrong, but I don't believe that has ever worked??? Have had my ns4g for over a year and it has always had to split SMS......or at least I have always set it to split......

Ok, that's kinda what I figured. Thanks for the quick reply.
I have posted here but recieved no answer. I figured my question belongs here anyway, so I won't bump the other thread.
I am trying to use Hangouts as my default SMS app (It is also currently the only SMS app installed on my device) because I do like it. However I noticed that sometimes I don't get any notification when I recieve a text message, no vibration, nor sound nor notification in the status bar. As a result, I miss quite a lot of texts. Notice that I do recieve those texts, if I check the app they are there, text bold to indicate they are not yet read. I just don't get the notification. Also, most of the time I do get the notifications without a problem. So to be clear, this is about some SMS's, not about all.
As far as I know this happens when I recieve the message very shortly after I put down my phone (my routine: send text, press 'backbutton' once to get in the hangouts overview, and then I press power to shut of the screen and put the phone down.) If I get a message let's say within half a minute of me turning of the screen I won't have a clue I recieved the message until I go look in hangouts to check. This happens often when someone is quick to respond to my own message, but could maybe be happening with other messages I recieve in that time. I don't think this happens to messages I recieve when the screen has been off for a time, but I can't say that with certainty.
I have a HTC One S currently running CM11, but I had this problem on stock ROM too. However never with the HTC stock messaging app.
I have found similar problems here on the forums, but no satifying answers. I hope someone has a solution?

I've just bought a Nexus 5 and when I type text messages with hangouts I can only see the last 4 lines of the message.
I'm in the habit of sending long texts - 5-6 texts long - with my previous phone, HTC One S, using their stock messaging app the message would scroll up the screen so I could see it all until it went off the top of the screen
How can I replicate that with Hangouts on my Nexus, or at least resize the reply window so that I can see more than 4 lines?
Cheers
There's one way I know that can solve your problem.
You need to have your phone rooted and Xposed installed.
Then there's a mod called "SMS Xposed" that gives you the option "unlimited textbox".
Which means "Removes the 3-lines height limit for the SMS typing box".
Hope this helps
Thanks. For the moments I'm not rooted so I've installed GO SMS Pro which offers what they call 'big edit'
When I use SMS Xposed I stop getting notified of messages. Hangouts and SMS.
