[Q] AMR WB issue - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello XDA team,
I encountered an issue regarding AMR WB codec (HD Voice).
Our network (Orange Moldova) supports it, but the called party has issues in hearing me, when it is used.
The voice gets choppy, lots of noise in background.
I switched to 2G and it seems fine, logs show "setWbAmr(): setting audio parameter - wb_amr=off" that it is OFF.
Is there any setting to disable it in cyanogenmod 9.1 stable for Samsung GT-I9300 intl version?
I would like to use the 3G data connectivity.
Thanks.

[Q] performance of qik

does anyone get decent live streaming with qik? I'm using an evo on sprint. I tried it with 3g and over wifi. It was a little better over wifi, but not nearly what i would consider decent, even with the video set to the lowest quality setting.
when i play back the video after it's finished uploading and saving it to the qik site, the video playback is fine. so it seems clear it's not the phone's camera. And i would have thought using the wifi would eliminate any speed issues. so it is a problem with the qik site/application?

Two issues/remarks on Virtuous Quattro

Hi,
First a big thanks for the tremedous work of the devs on ICS at the moment.. So exciting to see ICS on the Desire S !
However may I raise two concerns about Virtuous Quattro ICS (and maybe CM9 as well).
Audio / Mic support
I make heavy use of VoIP through CSipSimple. Worked great under GB, but pretty much unusable under VQ :
- audio output level is OK
- microphone is over-over-amplified : on a simple echo test, soft voice comes back loud and saturated.
No way to amend microphone level, tweaking every option in CSipSimple just doesn't work (software volume control, microphone source, audio mode, adjust gains etc...)
At best microphone just stops working.
Same issue with microphone level using android SIP calls.
USB Tethering / PM_FAST wifi
For now there's no option for USB Tethering.
However with it comes it'll be great to force wifi PM_FAST or WIFI_HIGH_PERFORMANCE or similar when USB internet connection sharing is enabled.
I understand tethering is primarily designed to share mobile network connectivity but...
...some users (like myself) are using USB Tethering to share wireless connectivity of the handset to a laptop, for ex in hotels and hotspots when only one MAC/IP address can be authentified.
Using Stock HTC roms, internet connection sharing forces wireless to high perf.
Using all CMs so far, as the screen goes standby, ping lags to 200-300ms.
Just my thoughts, thanks in advance !
Dams
I can confirm problems with microphone. I have problems in normal GSM talks too but only with stock headphones.
For now this is the only problem that hurts Virtuous Qauttro really much. Others are minor bugs.
As i've explained on desire S general forum a few days ago, I'm testing ICS Virtuous Quattro Beta 9 but I am not allowed to post on the forum of development.
However, by testing, I noticed that when using multiple accounts in the email application, and that is to be display two accounts in a combined view, after extinction and re-opening of the application email, one account again. I am forced to reselect "combined view".
i haven't seen commentaries about the resolution of this problem with the RC2 version of Virtuous quattro.
Thank you in advance to pass on to developers.
Mic issue confirmed. When using sound meter in a silent room, the figure easily exceeds 70dB.

[Q] Chromecast audio issue - high pitched robotic sound...

Hi,
I have just unpacked and set up my UK spec Chromecast - the cast is fine, it connects and the video as clear - however the audio is like a very high pitched robotic whistle, you can make out that there are pitch changes in the whistle when people talk and music is playing, but you cannot make out anything other than that. And its hurts my ears.
I have tried it on my HTC One, Nexus 10, using the EE router, the extender, BBC iPlayer and YouTube - same everywhere. I have unplugged and pressed the little button. Nothing helps.
Can someone help me??
I am using Android 4.4, my routers are EE Brightbox (by Astoria Networks) with a Netgear WN2000RPT range extender, and my TV is an Elonex LNXTY 37F2.
Thanks in advance!

LG G4 H812 (Canada) WiFi and earpiece Problem

Hi Everyone,
I'm using LG G4 H812. There is no option in Wifi setting to use only single band (5ghz or 2ghz) so switching between two bands causes Viber/Skype call disconnection, Is there any option in rooted or custom ROM for this phone to disable 5ghz?
The second problem is that regular call quality is fine but whenever I use Viber/Skype for calling, I hear noise on earpiece but with using handsfree or speaker, quality is fine. I can't figure out how to solve this problem.
Thanks

Bluetooth audio choppy on wifi connection

Guys I have a Gionee A1 phone working flawlessly as my secondary phone.
Phone isn't rooted.
Since few months it is acting weird.
When I play Youtube or any online videos on phone connected to a Wifi and audio connected to a BT speaker or BT earphones, the voice is very choppy, skipping, stuttering and disturbing.
Earlier it used to work simply great.
The same earphones and BT speaker works flawlessly on my other phones.
But this doesn't happen when I do the above things on Mobile data connection.
I tried various tricks and solutions as below but none worked...
Factory reset
I upgraded the firmware and also downgraded but the issue still remains.
In Battery optimization do not optimize BT ad YT.
Clear data for both BT and YT and Wifi.
Battery saver mode is disabled.
Browser upgrade/ YT app upgrade etc.
Apart from this, there are no other issues with the phone at all. even calls etc work fine on BT earphones. The camera, battery wifi etc all wok flawlessly.
Is there any conflict arising between BT and Wifi connection within the phone?
I dont have any other wireless devices in my house at all.
Kindly help to resolve this minor looking big issue..
I think there is not much you can do.
From my experience with Bluetooth I can say it always failed for some reason. Like when bt mouse becomes unresponsive/skips when laptop is under load, or bt speakers (in home or in car) having choppy playback for no apparent reason.
The bt connection is so sensitive and it can be disturbed by other radio operated devices.
What you can try is using vlc player for music playback when connected to bt speakers.
I found this most useful, as it uses buffer in best way to prevent skipping/choppy playback.
Second idea is to unpair/pair your device and it should work fine, for some time at least...
Third thing you could experiment on is in Android settings, go to Developer options and change settings in the bt section (bt codec, bt sample rate, channel mode) to see if there are any improvements.
