[Q] question about native music player on embryo 7 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

So after having way too many 3rd party apps for everything, I tried giving the native apps a try. Things run soooo much smoother and more integrated now but am I missing something? Like, is there no rewind or skip backward function for the remote on the music player ? I've only gotten it to pause or play next track. I've tried all the players out there I think and this one seems more responsive, and does just about everything....Except rewind? Doesn't make sense to me but maybe I'm just being thick.

Are you talking about a tape player? Where's fast dub? Use the slider to rewind. And yes there is a previous track. Try using a different widget.

I don't know what you mean by tape player sorry. I also didn't say my question properly. I was talking about the fact that I can't get the remote in the earphones to do a rewind to the beginning/skip backwards through tracks by three clicks instead of the two clicks to skip forward a track or one click to pause. That's what I meant to say. Here's a pic of the one widget I saw available and the full screen mp screen shot

You talkin about headphones with the remote on them? May not be compatible with your phone.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda

Yep. I'm using iphone ear pods and even though the volume doesn't work on android phones the center clicker does. It will already pause and skip forward with one and two clicks respectively.

There aren't many headphones that are android compatible as far as button control like you are wanting. It's not the music players fault.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Yeah....I think things are getting way off track for some reason.
I don't have a question about iPhone earpods working on an android device. I have a question about the native music player in mohans newest embryo rom.
I've had several music players from the android market that work perfectly using three clicks to rewind/skip backwards, and they were all on this same exact phone with the exact same earpods.
Anyway, this questions been up a while already so maybe I just need to deal. No biggie. Still an amazing rom.

mesmerize new us cellular rom 2.2 with working wiimote????

so this maybe a far off idea cuz i really know nothing about how to work over or cook a rom but now that us cellular has put out 2.2 and everything is working is there a way to copy the bluetooth stack out of the cooked rom's that could run wiimote and put it into the stock rom so that we can blow are horns about how we can also run wiimote in 2.2. it sounds like this is a real hard one to crack so the person that gets it done would have big bragging rights.lol let me know what you think.

Some do. However, it's this is so you can use the controller from the Wii you don't play, to play emulators on your phone.

I have been wanting this feature on the Mesmerize for a long time. I'd love to donate to a developer that could bring us this feature. Yesterday I beat the original Legend of Zelda on tiger nes emulator I can personally say the touch screen controls are a terrible way to play. Thank goodness for save states.

Now I'm working on beating Double Dragon - and I'd sure love to be able to do the jump kick without lifting my hand off the phone and tapping a and b together with my pointer and index finger. Unfortunately I feel like I'm playing with a hand up my ass.
I would donate to whoever got it working too! I've been waiting for one- I haven't tried it yet and i don't really plan to but I heard that the bt might work on the AOSP ROM. Worth a shot.
PS Where do you go after you get the sword in Zelda?

Oh hot damn that would be nice.
AFAIK, and a dev might chime in and prove me wrong, but the main reason the wiimote doesn't work is because Bluetooth HID (human interface device) drivers are not built into our roms. There are workarounds for Bluetooth keyboards, but I doubt they'd work for the wii remote. That's my understanding of it, like I said though, I may be wrong.
Sent from EC10 PnP 0.3 + voodoo
from what i have been reading is that some HID items will work and some people are saying that it has to do with are phones using bluetooth 3.0 and wii remotes can't do 3.0 but i have seen clams that some of the other Roms out there when flashed to are phone can run wiimote but the Roms that can have most if not all the samsung software removed. I'm just hoping that someone smarter then me come along and tells us " o thats an easy fix now that 2.2 is out. here you go" well till then i guess we will all just be here hoping.
Not sure about the wiimote, but some bt hid drivers can be compiled into the kernel. Will try to look into it soon.

Im also hearing that it may have something to do with the kernel that is also being installed with these Roms. Im going to look into this again and try to find these links again and post them when i can. Maybe a few days before i can sit down and find them again

Been doing someone reading and sound like you may have to some how downgrade the Bluetooth stack from the 3.0 that we have and get back to the 2.1 stack that everyone is using to make there programs. Any one know of a way to downgrade the Bluetooth stack?

Google Play replacing the Market

Looks the the Market is being re-branded. We'll now have a variety of "Play" apps. My apps haven't upgraded yet, but just so you know there are almost 30 apps on sale for 49 cents right now. Lots of great games and other things to make your skyrocket.. even skyrocket-ier. Anyone actually have all the Play apps yet?
My music and books apps updated already. Now they are play books and play music. Icons are different now too.

I'm surprised as hell that you people are even trying to use it on phones at the moment
XBMC really is designed for tv use currently there are 2 touch screen skins (made by me again) but they still suck on something as small as a phone you really need a tablet at least for it to work half decent.
I guess its a gimmick factor for now that you can actually run it. But don't judge it too harshly unless your using it the way its meant to be on a TV

Yeah I know its just I've invested a lot of my personal time into XBMC of the years, and I hate the thought of anyone dismissing it just because they try to run it on a device that its not currently meant for and get met with a less than stellar user experience :crying:
Its part of the reason why we didn't just ship out apk's or put it straight onto the "Play Store" because its still got a lot of development to go before it really a daily use app. And everyone would just grab and install all the pre-compiled ones without even reading any informational posts about it and complain that its crap when really the main reason the source code is out is so other developers can help us make it lots better for the day it hits the play store
Thats just the way XBMC rolls  develop in the open and encourage other people to help make it better

Also, where does the app store its settings? The .XBMC folder (in Linux) or the XBMC folder in applications data (on Windows) where the repositories addons and themes are stored.

FM Radio

FM Radio won't let you play music from your device to an FM station unless you have headsets plugged in to be used as an antenna.
I have already begun sorting through all the smali files to fix this.
While I am doing this, I am posting here in case someone has already gained knowledge on how to take care of it.
Need this fixed so I can listen to music while in my work truck.
If any of you know anything let me know.

I don't have headphones, and even if I did it would just be one more thing to keep track of in my work truck lol. I would rather limit my things. So, I would prefer to bypass the headset so Radio FM will just play regardless. My phone sits literally right by the stereo so transmitting and receiving won't be an issue when not using a headset as a antenna.
I believe I have narrowed it down to FMRadioMain.smali
