It would probably be better to just explain how to properly setup adb/fastboot and how to use it instead of making a script that teaches you nothing.

What i should do with this .img file?
This recovery won't allow you to do a boot or system wipe. just data/cache and dalvik. If you do the wipes included you can still boot the phone afterwards...that's not a full wipe.
Just FYI.

So are you saying this is just like Googles own recovery?
It wont actually allow you to wipe the phone like AmonRA does?
Then thats useless wouldn't you agree?

How To: Flash UltraJack Recovery to your Phone (Windows/Mac/Linux)
How To: Flash UltraJack Recovery to your Phone (Windows/Mac/Linux)
NOTE: This is a modified version of the AmonRA recovery flashing package.
The only thing I really did was modify the .sh/.bat files and include the UltraJack Recovery.
@devilzeye793 and whoever else may be wondering: Here you go!
1. Download the attached ZIP and extract
2. Make sure you have the necessary drivers installed for bootloader mode (installing PDAnet seems to do the trick on Windows: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9861928#post9861928)
3. Boot your phone into bootloader mode (Google it, I can't list all the ways here).
4. Plug your phone into your computer and let Windows install the drivers automatically (if you're on Windows, unfortunately I'm not really sure how this happens on Mac/Linux). NOTE: On some phones (i.e. the U8150), the phone will stay on the carrier logo screen. THIS IS NORMAL!
5. Run the installer for your OS from the extracted folder (.bat file on Windows, .sh file on Mac/Linux) and let it work its magic
6. After the script has flashed the recovery image (should take ~1-5 seconds), unplug your phone and remove/re-insert the battery to get out of bootloader mode
7. Enjoy your new recovery image!
Hope this helped some people out there!

Great, I'm glad it worked out for you!
I am currently using the stock ROM, simply because I currently see no reason to install any of the currently available custom ROMs for the Comet. As soon as someone has created a stable port of Cyanogen however, you better believe I'm going to be one of the first people on board!

I tried this for a Lenovo IdeaTab A2109 to try and build a touch recovery. It already has a unofficial cwm recovery non touch, so I used that as the recovery.img. It put out 2 recovery.img's. One was a recovery.img and the other inputreovery.img. I'm not sure what one I should flash or if I'm supposed to flash both. Would it put out errors if it didn't work?
Thanks for this post and any help you can give.

If it gives error like black screen or volume key unfunction means it is not compiled properly but don't worry your device won't brick and u can revert back ur recovery by placing original.img on the root of phone storage and flash through mobileuncle tool..all the best

Three Questions and I'm gonna try this out:
1. If the CWM recovery I build from CWM builder doesn't work, can I flash back the stock recovery by Mobile Uncle Tools, I mean won't it brick the device, can I still boot? I have a MT6577 device.
2. Does the script provided here backups up the stock recovery on Ice Cream Sandwich?
3. What else does this script do? Backup the whole phone?

Okay, Thank you.
I will try and update you on this.
Edit: After flashing recovery, I got blank screen in recovery mode.
thanx mate , really a helpfu guide i have Xtouch x714 with Allwinner A13 chip
before i tried many A13 CWM none of them worked not even boot , they nearly damage my tablet
thank god there is Phoneixcard i was able to revive it .
Anyway , your methode of getting the recovery.img from [gscript] did not work for me , it kept give me errors
even though it shows 100% complete
so i used another method to get my recovery.img , hence my tablet is an Allwinner A13 chip, so
i used [ Rom Dump ] which a small and powerful tool run it in Windows from [ http://www.techknow.me ]
it uses ADB so u have to be rooted and enable developer mode in your device and have ADB drivers in your PC
it backup image of your system and boot.img , recovery.img and data
so i used the extracted recovery.img in the site you provide me and i got my new recovery.img and flash it to my tablet via NovoTools 1.0
and i test it , it works like charm , thanx again mate really helpful
step 2 no working....website down?
Black Screen
When I flashed recovery made through it, it gave me a black screen Is there any way to fix this??
the online one is not working
i tried twice for micromax a84... i got the CWM recovery and flashed it via mobile uncle tools...but it didnt work
?
after hitting "build" it states
your build has been queued.The
build id is
9b42b141e21a35c4007c250f45ab2039
continue to the build sever
view the current build output
when i hit either option i get "HTTP ERROR 404.
can anyone else see my build id and if so can you download it and link it to me via PM.
or what can i do to get my image
Its simple
All you need to do is to flash some files and then you will have Mi- Pop
1# Download zip file(links are in a txt file which is in folder as zip )
2# And flash the zip that you will get
Reboot and done
If you don't have a flash image get this (its in a txt file in folder as zip) lewa recovery image for nokia x (recommended for nokia xl) and flash it with rasher or any other to whom you trust and after flashing the image it will reboot and lewa recovery will start. Then chose install , then chose zip file that you downloaded earlier wait for to finish and then reboot.
FaQ
Did i built any of these files?
Ans: no
All these files belong to you?
Ans: Not a single one
Who's files are these?
And: These files belongs to Dom (thnks)
Have you test it on some device?
Ans: Yes. On my nokia xl working perfectly.
Why nokia x flash image ?
And: Because i did it with it. But i prefer chose cmw recovery image specific for your mobile
And do it on your own risk. I am not responsible for any kind of demage.
Was it helpfull click thnksss and remember me in your prayers and its my first theat so there can be mistakes so help me to learn more and links are in txt because i am under 10 posts. Thats why i have to zip it
THIS TOOL IS FOR TESTING PURPOSE ONLY.
THIS MAY WORK ON SOME DEVICES OR MAY NOT WORK AT ALL.
IF THIS TOOL MAKES THE ROM UNBOOTABLE PLEASE COMMENT BELOW.
NO BUG FIXING not until i get an oreo supported phone for me to test.
TREBLE ROMS ARE NOT SUPPORTED!
FEATURES:
CAN DETECT OREO BOOT.IMG (YOU CANT MESS UP THIS TOOL. HAHA!!)
CAN DETECT WHETHER THERES A BOOT.IMG INSIDE THE MAIN FOLDER
CONVERTS BINARY INTO PLAIN CONTEXTS (MAIN FEATURE)
DECOMPRESS .BR IMAGES INTO .DAT (COOL RIGHT?)
USAGE:
GRAB A BEER AND RELAX
WHILE ON YOUR WINDOWS COMPUTER, UNPACK THE ARCHIVE AND GRAB THE OREO BOOT.IMG INTO oreo_contexts_tool FOLDER
RUN OFC.EXE AS ADMIN (NO NEED ADMIN RIGHTS FOR V2.0.0.1 AND V2.0.0.2)
FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS AFTERWARDS..
IF YOU NEED THE CONTEXTS CONVERTER FOR NOUGAT THEN USE MY TOOL HERE TO CONVERT PLAIN CONTEXTS INTO BINARY AND VICE VERSA.
tested only on x32bit windows 7 ultimate
ofc v2.0.0.1
ofc v2.0.0.2
!!VERY IMPORTANT TO READ NOTES!!
Code:
v2.0.0.1
can decompress .br image into .dat
can compress .dat image into .br
NO NEED to run the application with admin rights, just run normally.
I added x64 bit application but havent tested it yet on 64bit machine
(my laptop cant run x64 os :p) if it wont work pls use the other application.
v2.0.0.2
file contexts output is current directory
added reset tool if experiencing errors
added clean current directory
less popup of cmd (only when unpacking boot.img)
x64bit tool is not included yet.
note:
choosing "clean current directory" option will delete EVERYTHING
inside the current directory except for the tool. so i advise to run this tool
inside a folder/directory to avoid deleting all your important files on your pc.
e.g you run ofc.exe in drive C:\ (C:\OFC.EXE) ...then you chose
"clean current directory" option, this will delete EVERYTHING in
C: drive so BE CAREFUL!! I wont be responsible if this happens..
if your anti virus detects malware, trojan, etc just ignore.. my script is very simple and basic that any highschool student can laugh at it. :silly:
