Your device isn't compatible with this version... - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, sometime when apparently updates are posted to the play store, since I use a lower DPI setting, I get incompatible version from time to time. Well, I just updated an apparently that said was incompatible.. weird.. just thought I'd ask if anyone else has ever saw that

Yep, had the same problem. I use an option in TweakBox module for Xposed framework to fake 240dpi for Play Store - works great.

I use market helper is work for me root required

Apps incompatible

Since upgradung to the leaked ics, I noticed hbo go is not in the google play store. I went to the hbogo website and clicked the link to download it in the google store. It pulls up but says its incompatible with my device. Is there an alternate way I can download this

Don't you have to modify something else in order to get that to work? I thought I read something about a build.prop file or something..

That would be good to know , since installing the ICS leak I've been having a lot of issues installing apps such as Groupon,Living Social , Yahoo Mail that would all show as incompatible with device

Groupon and Living Social both work on mine, although I'm using the Stock Revamped ROM. As far as Groupon goes, did you do a backup and then restore in Titanium Backup? If you do that Groupon doesn't launch. If you delete it and then redownload it via Google Play it should work fine.

I'm using Mod1411's NexusMod ICS with LCD Density set to 200. I thought it was the LCD Density at first but it wouldn't work even if I set it back to 240. I searched for Groupon first on Google Play but couldn't find it. Going to the direct Google Play link it will show me as incompatible
Even after setting density back, you have to clear google play data and may have to go to recovery and wipe caches and reboot.
Can anyone speak to the HBO (No) Go app issue? Has anyone been able to get this running on their phone? I'd like to get that back up and running.
Well my i heart radio app was working fine until they released 4.2.1 version for it, now I get that my device is not supported.
Update, found the app on the Amazon app store and it installed and works fine.
to the OP, try that.

I'm using the stock leak (UCLD2) and I don't have any issues searching for groupon on the phone in the market.

Good , hopefully when MOD1411 get a chance to put out the new ROM it would work fine.
Just loaded the new AOKP and had a few issues with app incompatibility, couldn't get SwiftKey and others to install... I tried all the usual suspects - LCD Density, reboot, clear store data, but two tips I haven't seen anywhere else that both worked for me:
- Manage Apps, Google Play Store, 'Uninstall Updates'
- Install from browser instead of Play Store on device
Hope this helps someone!

[Q] Nexus 5 - LMT Problem after update.

After receiving my new Nexus 5,
I had a friend install LMT onto it, which worked perfectly and I was very happy with.
Then the newest Google update became available and I installed it, suddenly my LMT stopped working.
There are some times where a few of the parts of the Pie will work, but 90% of the time nothing works.
Has anyone had this problem or have a solution?
So you're on 4.4.2 now? May have to wait for LMT dev to update their app to work properly with the new version.
Yeah I am on 4.4.2
And thank you very much, any idea when that might come out?
I don't. I'd go on play store for lmt and see if there's any option to email the Dev directly.

Lmt is not in the play store but the current v2.0 version is working without problems on the n5 with 4.4.2.

it might need root for all the buttons to function and you might of lost it in the update. I'm only guessing as I always have root.

Google Play store says my phone is incompatible, could someone please send me .apk?

I bought a breathalyzer that requires an app to use. The app requires android 4.3, so I rooted my Photon Q 4G and installed cm-10.2.1-xt897. However, the google play store still thinks my device is incompatible, even after messing around with Market Helper. I even tried playing around with build.prop manually, which was almost a disaster when it broke my keyboard and I had no way of typing back in the settings I had changed. I changed ro.product.model, ro.product.brand, and ro.product.manufacturer to imitate a Galaxy S3 and S4, neither worked. Anyway, I'd like to try side loading the app on my device to see if it works because I'm pretty sure the google play store is just being stubborn (I've seen other installation issues reported by people with non-rooted phones for this app). Could someone with a compatible phone (stock Android 4.3+) please download this app and send me the .apk file? I'm not asking anyone to steal since it's a free app anyway. Alternatively, could someone explain which settings I should be changing in build.prop to fool the google play store (preferably without breaking my phone)?

Here you go the apk is attached
Editing build.prop to look like other phones is not a good idea.
And to unlock the play store there is an xposed module available. So install xposed and find the module.:good:

Uber App won't work - Chinese Version Mate 9 in Canada

Hey guys, please help.
I am using the 6 GB premium Chinese version, but I live in Canada using all the google play services, ect. Google maps seems to work fine, but when I request a ride using my Uber app, it fails and gives me an error when it needs to obtain GPS information from the phone. The app works fine on other devices. I have already rebooted, updated, and given permissions to the app with no effect.
Just for the time-being I use my Mate 9 as a wifi hotspot and then use the app on another device like my Ipad, so its not the end of the world. That's how I got to work today haha. But it would be nice to use it on my phone, its one of my favorite apps. If anyone knows of anything I could try to troubleshoot please let me know!
Anybody?
You check permissions? Whitelist section?

I tried that, given the app full permissions and allowed secondary launch, ect. I have rebooted and force closed, opened again, and still get the same error.
I will take a screenshot later and post it here when I have time.

I got the same problem with P9 Chinese version. With another car-calling service app like Grab it's work well. But only Uber can't. I think problem from the firmware
Are you sure that your Uber app is the latest version?
I am also having the same problem. Whenever I press to request Uber, it shows an error. Tried in many ways, updated Uber, uninstalled the app, etc but I am still getting the errors. Can anyone help pls?
make sure dont use the HiApp version but gplay to install the app, recently I had issues with an app just not working anymore after I installed from gplay and then updated from HiApp. after this I disable all notifications for updates and auto updates from HiApp so everything now comes from gplay, my uber app works fine tho but it is a little slow on getting gps signal sometimes not sure why, my way around this is start gmaps first and then start uber app. being thinking about rebranding to internatinal version (maybe you could do the same) but still researching for it.
just tried uber for the first time after update to B175 in my chinese mate 9 and I got an error about processing my request. not sure why is doing this now.
I found a way to do it, apparently the problem is just with requesting the drive once you do that you can track and pay from the app itself.
I used https://m.uber.com/ to get my driver and then used the app for everything else. It is an odd but faste solution until we find out why the uber app is not working on MHA-AL00 devices.
Why are you guys buying Chinese version when you can get the US version ? Just curious

Play store apps "not compatible"

Came across 2 apps today that I get "your device isn't compatible with this version" messages. These are 2 apps I use on my axon 7 with Android 7.0 so I know they work with nougat. I've tried deleting the cache and data for the play store and Google services but still the same. Anyone have this issue or any ideas on how to stop it? Also can anyone else check the "apple music" app and see if they can install it?

Some apps just won't be compatible until the developer(s) make the app compatible specifically for the Mate 9. However, I was able to download the Apple Music app.

Well that's interesting. I'm running the us version of the phone fully stock so what would be preventing me from installing it? My play store version is 7.5.08.M-all Phone software MHA-L29567B138

Are these 2 apps on Play Store the same versions of those you used on your axon 7 with Android 7.0?
As I know, some apps will not work with Android 7.0 until their developers have distributed the latest versions and have made them compatible with nougat.
Yes, in fact I just uninstalled them on my axon 7 and reinstalled them to verify them

Decided to reset the phone this morning and see if that fixed it. Before any updates took I was able to install the 2 apps showing as incompatible, however after about 10 minutes they went back to "your device isn't compatible with this version". I uninstalled the updates to the Google Play Store as well as Google Play Services and they still said "your device isn't compatible with this version" even though I checked the Play store build number and it was the same before the update and after uninstalling the update. Some update somewhere is causing a compatibility issue and I'm not sure what it is. I may have to reset the device again and not update any of the built in apps like Gmail, Youtube, etc. and hopefully catch whats causing it.
Edit: Reset again and everything was fine. Google play store was on version 7.4.12.L.all [0] [pr] 144479971 and remained there. Installed one of the apps I was having trouble with then updated system apps one at a time. After each system app I checked the other incompatible app and everything was good. Then after updating google maps the app went back to "your device isn't compatible with this version" so I uninstalled the maps update and cleared the cache and data and the app remained "your device isn't compatible with this version" . The play store stayed on version 7.4.12.L.all [0] [pr] 144479971 and play services never updated from what I could tell. This and some of the software bugs are becoming a bit aggravating. Really hoping the update comes soon and fixes some of the issues.
It's a DPI issue...You have to set display view to large, then install whatever apps you want, then set back to small or medium. That should fix for you.

Well I was hoping that would fix it but it didn't. I set the display view to large, rebooted. That didn't work so I cleared the play store and play services cache and that didn't do it either. Lastly I cleared the play store and play services data and rebooted and that didn't work either.
I'm not sure what's causing it since both the play store and play services are the exact same versions on my mate 9 and axon 7.
Edit: OK this is just stupid. I put the view back to small and font back to normal (where I've had it this whole time except to try the above fix) and now the app allowed me to install it. I don't know what fixes it but at least it's working lol.

Having this same issue with Amazon Store App. Works fine on my PixelXL and Nexus 6P...but for some strange reason, I cannot install it on my Mate 9. Go figure. It's really the ONLY app I'm having this issue with. All my other play store apps installed fine, and my settings and logins work fine. But for the life of me - I cannot install the Amazon Store app, even thought I have successfully installed the Amazon Kindle app. too strange....

Have you tried changing the display size? That definitely has something to do with it and even though for me it didnt work at first it definitely solved the issue. Change it to large, reboot and try, if no go wipe the play store data and play services data and reboot and try again. Keep changing the display size after that and eventually it will work. For me I had given up and set my device back to small which is where it originally was and out of nowhere it worked.
Now if they could just resolve Hulu without having to contact customer service things would be great.
