If you boot into bootloader, it is searching for a zip to install. This zip must be named PL80IMG.zip in my case. And you can flash in this way splash screen for example. Inside the PL80IMG.zip must be the fitting android-info.txt for your device.

This will save allot of time in the future. Great work.

I want to know what boot img is suited for my phone I have build 2.14.162.8 buil EU with LTE ?!
Thank You

Hi.
What CID or operator and country do you have ?
If you didn't change anything yet, don't forget to make a recovery backup before (and keep a copy xomewhere), you'll have what you need if you want to restore to your phone's stock version.

I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the OS and now I don't find the cid ?! displayed in the bootloader only something like K2_ul PVT SHIP S-ON RL, can be found somewere else this cid ?
I founded in Build prop it is VODAP102

Yep, that's probably your cid.
Don't forget to do a recovery backup, you'll have all you need. Actually it might help some people some day

Boot.img isn't un/locked, bootloader is. But as it seems you are S-on you can't flash hboot to change this.
And to answer your question: we haven't the files for your cid.

Sent you a pm

@old.splatterhand
And another one

Hi, I'm looking for a stock Optus AU ICS rom so I can downgrade from JB and then get S-Off and super CID on my One SV (the phone was already on JB when I got it ).

You can use any Europe rom (I have Optus, and use Europe rom), it is same. Only different model number.

Just download the appropriate flashable attached to this post and install through recovery.
Some people have been having issues with not having them match the stock kernel?
Hopefully this is helpful to some.
Blue6IX said:
Guys - in /system/lib/modules there is a file called bcm4329.ko and another called kineto_gan.ko
These modules are kernel-specific, meaning that they must match the exact kernel they came from-regardless of who makes it (HTC, me, you - whoever)
If they do not, then you will not have wifi (no you don't NEED both, but if you want full functionality then you do)
Anyone having wifi errors this is why.
Fastboot flashing the boot.img file will actually write the kernel - if you try to do it through recovery there are securities in place preventing it actually writing the kernel (thanks HTC!!!!)
What happens without fastboot flashing the kernel (boot.img) is that you have those modules made for a kernel you don't have installed.
...just in case anyone was unsure as to what the problem was, this is it right here.
so you either have to:
-fastboot flash the kernel for the ROM you are using...
-or-
-install the modules in /system/lib/modules for the kernel you are using.
I will split those modules from the stock software packages and make them into flashable zips now, so i'll have then up within the next half hour or less.
This should make it easier for people on custom ROMs with stock kernels to just get their wifi back, so they can flash the modules they need for stock.

I've got AT&T here in the US - do I need to add the config too, or is it just for T-Mobile users?
not sure mate but its not a big deal to try the build.prop edit. If it fails just go back to the normal one.
You might also want to research your provider settings and if you find any experiences you can certainly add it here for everyone to use.
[EDIT]
Found this for the AT&T One X, which i suppose has similar settings:
http://pastebin.com/51Mv0AfK
Check out those values.
I have some problems with Radio Collection for CM. I will invesitgate it futher until end of this week.
can some one help me with the attached file?
These are from the flashing script pf my cm flashing script... But i can't fix it.
I don't find the reason why the zip won't flash...

I am just stabbing in the dark here (and most likely wrong) but that is a .rar file not a zip... can you flash a rar in recovery?? (i am NO dev and make no calim to be so if thats a stupid question, just throw a virtual slap my way)
Also, when i download the file, and try to open in 7zip it says invalid command (and 7zip IS confirmed working with other files). Not sure if this helps at all or not.
I think you should add some lines in your updater script e.g. calling busybox etc. Have a look:
Your already working script:
Code:
if
file_getprop("/tmp/aroma-data/eu.prop","item.0.1") == "1"
then
ui_print("Installing your Radio..");
package_extract_file("radio/EU_radio_0.15.31501S.13_3_10.08.31501S.04L/radio.img", "/tmp/radio.img");
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "dd", "if=/tmp/radio.img", "of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17");
delete("/tmp/radio.img");
endif;
Your not working script:
Code:
if
file_getprop("/tmp/aroma-data/eu.prop","item.0.1") == "1"
then
ui_print("Installing your Radio..");
package_extract_file("radio/EU_Radio_0.16/", "/");
endif;
Without "dd" it won't copy... and "if" means input file, "of" means output file. I guess you simply forgot to add the missing lines, after you deleted them in your new script.
Yeah rootrider, but the cm radios aren't images, they are extracted files and so a normal copy action should actually suffice. DD is used for image flashing, isn't it?
And busy box is not required for copy actions, is it?
sent with a home button bug...
--- ot on
dd isn't just simple copying, it's more... For simple copy actions you'd use cp. But you could use dd as well.
BusyBox is a single-binary application that includes the capabilities of more than 70 standard Linux utilities.
But as I wrote, you still have to tell it what to copy and where. Not more, not less.
So check out Venom rom and you'll see in ./system/bin that dd is symlinked with toolbox. This is an equivalent to busybox.
And here is a link to the busybox homepage. If we'd investigate further, we could see toolbox being a customized (further reduced) busybox.
And here I'll stop for 100% as we're talking about radios. lol
--- ot off
added some pics, the second shows what an advanced busybox installation does. And added one more link.
Thanks. I look at this. Can I copy this directly without romp tmp? I know that radio must be flashed this way.
Gesendet von meinem GT-N7100 mit Tapatalk 2
Puh, I really don't know as I'm not too deep into it. (That means I never worked with that installer so far, nor customized it)
So give it a try. :good:

temasek's UNOFFICIAL CM10.1 BUILD
NOTE
This is an UNOFFICIAL build of CM10.1 ( CyanogenMod 10.1 ) for Nexus 7 (GSM) tilapia and by NO means this is my ROM. I am just compiling from CM Source and 100% credits goes to TeamDouche, fattire, nemith (GSM) the device maintainers of Grouper/Tilapia and all other coders who contributed to CyanogenMod.
This is similar to a nightly from CM but has some extra goodies baked in. If you can't handle some things possible being broken, please don't use this and then complain to me for building it.

Nice...no problems so far.
I want to try this rom but I need a few answers to my questions.
1) Can I flash CM10.1 rom on top of this rom, IF (a big if) I'm not satisfied with it?
2) Can I use faux kernel with this rom? I'm a fan of his kernel.
3) During flashing, is sdcard content wiped? I have use 20 GB now and I can't connect my N7 to PC because of MTP issue. The only way to backup my sdcard is by using USB OTG and it took ages (!) to finish copying all that stuff.
4) Does this rom have expanded desktop feature like PA rom?
5) Does it support USB OTG (without the need for Stickmount or other app)?
6) Do I have to flash another recovery than what I have now, which is CWM Touch recovery 6.0.2.3 for tilapia?
7) What features or functionality is not working or not available? I was told that this rom support WiFi tethering, which is the feature I need most. I was wondering if there's any missing features that stock 4.2.1 have but this rom don't have.
8) How does this rom handles update? Do I check for update in CM OTA app (if there is such feature in CM rom and this rom) or do I wait for new build to be uploaded here and flash in recovery? If the former is true, then it will overwrite the rom files, is it not? I am afraid that jumping back and forth between this rom and CM will make it unstable and other weird things (reboot or whatnot)
If you think of my post as super noob, then please refrain from replying. Just ignore it (as mentioned in OP). If you indeed want to help, feel free to reply.

All OK temasek, 5stars for you !
Can you add the link for the latest gapps?
p.s. Please temasek can you add the tile for data toggle in fast setting panel?
It's important to me in Italy we use ever 3g connection because there isn't much WiFi access points.
Ty

1. Yes
2. Idk yet. I'm using motley kernel Atm. But if faux says it's for cm10.1 then it's ok.
3. No. If you already on cm10.1 then flash without wiping over this kang build. But if you are on stock ROM then u need to wipe data in cwm recovery.
4. Yes. I submitted the overlay to cm gerrit & it was approved & merged.
5. I've not tested otg yet. So Idk Atm.
6. No. Cwm 6.0.2.3 is good.
7. So far I found nothing is missing from stock. CM adds more features to stock ROM. I've submitted the wifi tethering commit to cm gerrit awaiting review but it is in my build.
8. CM updater is for official builds not for my kang build. Follow me in twitter or follow this thread for new kang builds.
U can move from cm official builds to my builds, vice versa....anytime. Will not corrupt anything.
This is a nexus device & being a nexus device means great stability even in cm.
Btw I use Airdroid in Play Store to transfer files between my phone & my pc. It's a great piece of app.

Airdroid is great, but for pure transfer of files I use X-link from the store. At least for my usage.....not to mention it works between devices and computers.

I'm new to N73G. If I wipe data will the complete storage/emulate/0 be wiped or will e.g. my navigation maps and my titanium backup stay safe? Haven't got a firm grasp of the concept - without external sd - yet.

Stock recovery, wipe data = bye bye all internal including your own stuffs in /data/media which is your user space.
Cwm recovery, wipe data = all internal wipe but your /data/media is safe. The....emulated/0 is in /data/media so it is definitely safe.

I'm sorry if this is a bit off topic, but what about TWRP? Will it wipe everything in internal including data/media?

AFAIK no.
Custom recovery will never wipe user space when choosing wipe /data, if not all will jump up their seats and start a rebellion!

FAQ:
Q: I tried to flash the ROM and got this:
Code:
Installing update...
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/..path od ROM.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
A: Update your recovery to one that is compatible with new recovery functions. See the list below.
4EXT Recovery Touch v1.0.0.6 RC 3 or newer
TWRP 2.8.0.0 SAGA or newer
Q: I've used HTC Dev unlock and flashed the rom but it won't boot. What should I do?
A: You need to extract boot.img from the zip and flash it via fastboot. If you don't have fastboot executable anymore from flashing recovery, install Android SDK platform tools (Linux users should find it from distro's package management) and then reboot to bootloader, open command prompt and navigate to the location you extracted your boot.img and type:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
You need to repeat this everytime you flash new version of this rom to ensure everything will work fluently as long as you have just basic HTC Dev unlock.
Q: Where are my developer and performance options?
A: http://goo.gl/jpS8r
Q: Feature X doesn't work, let's make 1000 posts about it to annoy everyone.
A: Please, dont. Use search and then use search again and only then report your problem with necessary logs. [Logcat guide, thanks to MusikMonk for the link]
Q: I hate you for not fixing this issue X!!!
A: I love you too.
Q: How I can build CM11.0 myself?
A: Setup a basic Android build environment.
Code:
mkdir cm11
cd cm11/
repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b cm-11.0
mkdir -p .repo/local_manifests

Thank you Kylon.
Three questions please:
-do we need to make a clean installation starting from this new nightly build for the first time?
-can we just dirty install for next nightly after this first one?
-will the headset mic be fixed?
Thankssssssssss
Clean install the dirty.
No guarantee
Installed per instructions, played with it a bit then restarted and since then dead black... Never happened something like this before...

Last kernel (from build 28.10.2014) don't work with another ROMs - bootloop/restarts... Last kernel for me is ok. I think had been something new, like problem with sim card, if u remember year ago).
Restart phone... All is ok - without any issues.
Men, thank for hard work and your time!

Rom installed without errors on twrp 2.8.0.0 in 5min, Gapps wont install. Boot took less than 5min. AOSP Keyboard force close and, of course, no gapps.
I'm impressed!
