HTC One SV update after rooting - HTC One SV

Hi all,
When I got my phone, a HTC One SV, I immediately rooted it. I have unlocked the bootloader and changed my recovery in order to do so. However, I cannot install the Jelly Bean update at this point. When I select "install update" it will reboot, go into recovery and give me an error saying "unknown volume for path", and then some whole lot of weird information I cannot debug. I have tried this with both Clockworkmod recovery for JB and ICS. (and another recovery of which I have forgotten the name. They all give me the same error)
Has anyone encountered this problem as well and solved it?
It would be most amazing if I could restore the original state of my phone (unrooted, locked bootloader, stock rom) and go on from there.
The error given:
Code:
"E: Can't mount INTERNALSDCARD: Download/OTA_K2_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_2.14.401.107-1.17.401.3_release_312632jqukg2n9answy66t.zip Installation aborted."
Thanks in advance!

Yes, its a known problem!
Look at this post/thread, same problem.

Well, if you have no problem with restoring your device you can always flash a RUU and then update or whatever.

[Q] Desire bricked?

Hello,
first of all, I have to say that Im a newbie.
I tried to install Cyanogenmod7 and think that I broke my phone,
but maybe u can help.
1. I installed the USB driver for Win7
2. I rooted my standard Desire GSM with unrevoked, using Clockworkmod recovery (I think it functioned)
3. Then I tried to install CM7, the installation was successful, but when I started my phone it hang in the bootscren with the blue androidguy and nothing went on.
4. A friend said that I have maybe to S-Off the Phone.. so I tried BUT: In step 3 of the Alpharev-software my Desire was frozen again.. I could not do anything and I knew that its maybe bricked. After 2 hours I decided to cut it off the computer.
Now it starts automatically in the Hboot 0.93 screen and i can use the Clockwork recover software. But when I try to install a ROM with the recoversoftware it doesnt function. I also tried to install that:
shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_T2_Radio_32.41.00.32U_4.08.00.09_release_137222_signed.exe
But it errors, too.
What shall I do? Is it broken?
Thanks for any help.

Okay, so I see that you used Unrevoked, however, did you also use unrevoked forever? If not, s-off hasnt been enabled. You must use Unrevoked Forever to allow custom ROM's.
After doing that, you can revert to stock by searching for "latest desire stock". Load that, then you can attempt ROM.
Unrevoked Forever installs like a .zip on the root of your card. Just go to the unrevoked site to grab the forever program. Place it in the root of the card, and then go into recovery and install.
Next, since you may not be able to access the phone, reboot and place the Cyanogenmod rom in the root of the sd card and go into recovery and install.
Let me know what happens.
Hi,
I cant install unrevoked forever.

Hmm ... Has my Clockworkmod recovery software a bug?

Okay,
I found the Bug from Alpharev:
*** Stuck on step 3 (phone is displaying progress) ***
There are several possibilities:
1. No output other than 'Normal/New NAND detected.' -> Nothing was flashed, restore your ROM and try again.
Please use AlphaRev using a stock ROM. No data2ext/whatever or other scripts that mount a SDext partition as /data.
Later versions than 1.8 will try to account for this. For now, use a stock ROM instead.

Thats exactly what happened, but it deleted my ROM which was actually on my phone
okay so what's the news now. (Sorry bout the delay). Is everything working? Let me know because I have a custom setup that can get you back to stock and then start over.

OTA update

Phone has just told me that an update; 'System enhancement 59.02 MB' is available, I've downloaded it, installed it and the phone has rebooted.
However... it reboots into Clockworkmod recovery so I have to select 'Reboot now'.
Aswell as producing an 'abnormal reset' error, the update is still available; it doesnt seem to have installed.
Phone has been rooted with superoneclick following HTC bootloader unlocking. As nandroid backup was not available from recovery, I installed clockworkmod recovery. Is this causing the issue? Can I stop the phone booting into recovery every time?
Help?
Please?!

Allow me to say it better: You need a stock recovery to implement the OTA updates - you can download w/o it but must have it to install it.

I used the all-in-one toolkit to unlock bootloader and all that good stuff. But i never flashed a recovery. Phone is rooted and everything. Is it absolutely necessary to flash the recoveries in that toolkit? What are the purposes for it? (noob status >_>) I know what the stock one is but was always wondering about the rest and if you really needed them.

For the OTA update you will nedd to have stock recovery on your phone, bootloader relocked and a stock rom without any apps uninstalled.
Relock the bootloader?!
Why?!
HTC allow me to unlock it, so surely they should support an unlocked bootloader?

Thats most important for a sucessfull update. Had this problem with TMO Germany and after relocking the bootloader everything went fine. I used the RUU instead the OTA.
My update always stopped upon a checksum failure as long as the bootloader was unlocked. It was gone after relocking.

So lost.. need help

So I (foolishly) tried to root and flash the Android Revolution ROM onto my phone but as I should have expected, I failed.I have a plethora of problems, and I am not sure what my best course of action is:
so
1) I factory reset, so I have no recovery or ROM on my phone currently
2)My phone is in a bootloop (loads the HTC screen with a disclaimer saying "this build is for development... yadda yadda yadda" and then reboots
3)My phone will NOT powerdown, I have tried to power down my phone through bootloader, and it re"boots" and returns to bootloader once again.
4)I cannot flash any files from my PC to my phone, for example: When I try to flash boot_signed.img from the Rogers Evita Stock ROM, using
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img, I get an error message saying "FAILED <remote: signature verify fail>" and this occurs for all files I have tried to flash
5)I have tried using ARUWizard to try and get the stock ROM onto my phone with no avail. From reading the forums I believe it is because my phone is using version 1.94.631.3 but the ARUWizard can only update to previous versions which is not allowed? (I am still very confused about this) one alternative I found on the forums was to create something called a goldcard but that required a microSD card which my phone does not have capabilities for.
So this is my dilemma, I think I am thoroughly screwed... any help or advice would be appreciated
You should still have twrp recovery even if you factory reset. Reboot into twrp, mount sd, transfer over a Rom that will work, wipe all and flash

I go to recovery, and it just goes immediately back to bootloader :s
I suggest starting with this thread and see what results you get.
You flashed a ROM for a different device that has a different partition layout, and that ROM installer may have possibly wiped out your partitions and left the device unrecoverable except through a JTAG brick repair
Have you tried flashing twrp again?

If you're getting to the splash screen, you're not bricked. Don't start the unbricking stuff yet.
You need to get to bootloader and push a new recovery image. You probably screwed up your recovery partition when you flashed that Tegra 3 rom.
Once you've got recovery back, you just need to flash a correct rom.
If that doesn't work, try running a ruu from bootloader.

Before you do anything else, you should probably double check what phone you have.
Android Revolution HD (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603) is NOT for the AT&T/Rogers One X or the Telstra One XL.
If you have an international One X, then you're in the wrong place. If you do have one of the phones listed above, then you need to go here and download one of those roms. Then flash using what The_Zodiac suggested.

Yessir, that'll work. (I've heard good things about that ROM, though I haven't tried it myself).
Just FYI, the One X on AT&T and Rogers is known internationally as the One XL, and as far as codenames go, is known as the Evita, as you pointed out. The international One X is the Endeavor, and ROMs are not cross-compatible. If you stay in the "AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL" sub-forums here, you should be alright.
What version of twrp are you using? Try rolling back to a 2.3.x version. 2.4.x seems to have some issues.

Okay, I think I am going to go to bed, and try to approach this problem tomorrow.
I am running TWRP 2.4.x so I may try and downgrade that tomorrow. I used adb to push the ROM to my phone and it is on my sdcard
However, when I try to install the ROM, it tells me that it failed... I tried clearing all caches etc but i keep getting the same errors. The weirdest part is that when I reboot my phone, the ROM disappears...
The error that I am getting is:

Obviously something to do with my sdcard is wrong, preventing connection between the sdcard and something else, but maybe you guys could dig deeper, past the elementary
Thank you guys for the help you've given me so far, the outlook for my phone is much brighter now, I will check back tomorrow and continue to try and fix my phone!
Your sdcard is indeed corrupted.

Walk through that guide using the files for the Evita on that page, it should fix your sdcard. After that you can go ahead and push the rom to the sdcard again and then reflash and see if that does the trick!

[Q] Any idea why I can't update my phone?

I'm not able to post links so I've had to attach the images instead:
I have an HTC One XL - which I believe is from HK (when i reset to default, everything is in Chinese and the time/date is HK)
Since getting it in December, I've not been able to do a single update.
The software update gives me
update.png
after which i get this
fail1.jpg
So I've tried to bypass that and downloaded the OTA 4.1 rom and trying to flash gives me this
fail2.jpg
I also tried to do the RUU install and that failed too.
Any ideas?
I can't see your photos, they are coming up blank for me. But are you completely stock, or do you have custom recovery? Is your bootloader unlocked?
Phone needs to have stock recovery to install OTAs.
Bootloader needs to be LOCKED or RELOCKED to run RUU.

- make sure you phone unlocked bootloader already.

error executing updater binary

Hi Guys,
I have tried many of the ROMs available however, for the most part, I get this error "error executing updater binary" in TWRP. I have also tried CWM and Philz recovery. The only ROM that installs is CM11. Does any one know what is the issue? Anyone got a solution? Thanks.
Current Recovery: TWRP 2.7.1.1
I'm the only one experiencing this issue?
Specifically which ROMs have you tried?
Transmitted via Bacon
I've tried the following:
AOSP from the Oneplus homepage
AOSP flapped
mahdi-rom
Team GUMMY
Are you checking the md5 when you download?
Transmitted via Bacon
No, I did not. However, having said that, would it really be the case of corrupt downloads across multiple roms? As well, CM11 installs perfectly fine.
I'll do some checking now.

It's possible, I'm just throwing out the usual causes of your problem. It wouldn't be the first time it's happened.

Well, just re-downloaded AOSP from the oneplus homepage and flapped AOSP. I also checked their md5 hashes; they match. I will report back.
I'm getting this same message, except I'm getting it when trying to install the new OTA update. I'm rooted with custom recovery, but haven't flashed any ROM. After I download the update, I push "install update" and my phone reboots into TWRP to install the update, and then gives me the "error executing updater binary" error. I tried downloading the update manually off the web and installing it via TWRP on my own, but it gave me the same message. Not really sure what else to do at this point.

Just tried to flash both, both times I get the "error executing updater binary" error. I do not have the technical expertise to try to correct this.
Anyone else with any ideas?
Unzip the ROM that works and the ROM that doesn't with 7zip, then swap the update-binary from the working to the non. Rezip (set to store) then either sign the ROM or toggle SIG verification in recovery, then make nandroid, wipe clean, flash
By the way, what version do you have? 16 64? Chinese? Can you get bootloader info?

The ROM that works is CM11 nightly and the one that I would like to install is pure AOSP. Are you certain that their update binary files would/could be interchangeable?
And how to do you "set to store"? I use 7zip.
I have the international 64GB. And I am not sure how to check my bootloader.
I really do apologize for my newb-ness on this matter.
There shouldn't be an issue, but of course I can't promise as I don't know what specifically is going on in your case
When you choose zip, there you will have different compression options, choose store
Try
fastboot oem device-info
Write down output here

I'm having exactly same problem. So is this common problem or what? I had multirom and xposed framework but after uninstalling them both I get the same error again. I hope this does not happen when we are getting the Lollipop-update. Sry for bad enklish.
Anyone help?
