New and need help!!! - Asus Transformer TF700

Hey everybody. I orderd a tf700t on amazon and it came in today. i have a rooted samsung galaxy plus running on cm10 and i have lots of flashing experience. but on the sgs+, you dont need to unlock your bootloader or such. just install custom recovery, flash rom and you're done.
so now i'm confused and i dont know what to do. I just want to install this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223492
What do i need to do. Precisely?
P.s. i updated the rom to its latest official rom on android 4.2.1, i hope that won't give me any problems

Have you unlocked your bootloader?

To unlock the bootloader you use the official Asus app to do so. You allow unknown sources in settings, download it from their website. Install it and run it.

I just unlocked bootloader USING the official app.
from what i read, i believe i only need to install twrp by using goo manager and then i can just install them am i right?

Yes, after you have flashed your desired recovery, you can start flashing like on your samsung device
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda premium

First you will receive to root. Unless you all ready have. If not use motochopper I think or just flash a super user zip in recovery.

Goomanager requires root access to flash a recovery and he said that's how he wants to do it.

Lol. Slowdown.
First, what is fastboot? And how can i use it to flash/install the rom/ custom recovery?
Second, where can i find the superuser.zip, and how do i enter stock recovery to flash it?
As said before, using goomanager didnt install twrp because i didnt have root (duh, im such a noob).

Okay first thing is to root. This'll be easiest. Just go to the tf700 general section and find the motochop thread to root. Fallow the directions there to root. Then use Goomanager to flash twrp.

[RECOVERY] clockwork Mod

paul @modaco has achieved a custom recovery, which he has realeased as a beta, but why not let all the users hereon xda know to, this is why i am posting this solution now.

So was this method similar to the Droid X psuedo recovery which hijacks the boot process?
I'm having a issue with the backup process, it keeps trying to back up ALL data on the internal memory instead of just the app data portion. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Xoom did the same thing. We had to move all media to computer or microsd so it didn't get backed up.

There has already been a version 5.x.x.x posted here that seems to fully work just fine. Why would anyone want to go back to an older version? This is even earlier than the one Solarnz and Roach have introduced.

some of that info is in serious need of updating. The new CWM is not really that old. Kind of suprising that the thread is that out of date. Even Roach and Solarnz are updated more than this one.

[Tool]Razorclaw - One click Root for all ASUS Transformers, 3G and Slider(25-12-2011)

Razorclaw is a new tool (on-device!) for rooting any version ASUS Transformer.
Update 25-12-2011: Only use the below versions! The latest OTA has the vulnerability fixed! Sorry for the late update on this.
Currently known supported versions:
ASUS Transformer TF101 (8.6.5.19)
ASUS Transformer 3G TF101G (8.6.6.19)
ASUS Slider SL101 (8.6.5.18)
Update nov 16: Works with Slider as well! Also, Google suspended the app from market, so get it from the site!
Simply install, click Root, and you're good to go!
More info and download links at http://androidroot.mobi/2011/11/14/introducing-razorclaw-v1/
Note: Any donations people decide to give for this should go to the donate link on http://androidroot.mobi/donations/ and NOT directly to me.

Does TF101G have the update with the App Backup yet?
We lacked a TF101G and Slider device to test on, so it's a maybe. In all likelihood it will work with those devices as well

Use ViperMod (Option 1) to root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427125
There's also this here that's pretty new but it seems easy enough.

After you have root, use RecoveryInstaller to flash CWM recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346180
As for your tablet, yes your C10 would fall in the SBK v2 caategory like some B70 and B80 ect. You look like you have the most up to date Honeycomb firmware but as you know there is now ICS available.
Good reading if you have a little times

Well, after doing a lot of reading till 1am, im not going to root due to the problems I've heard about. This device is awesome with JB as is, I mean yeah, id love to be the administrator and not the guest... and install a few apps that require root and to have the ability to OC. BUT... it is what it is at this point, I didn't read any of the forums by the time it was too late and I did the upgrade. Aside from all of that... and one know a thread that shows some cool things this tablet can do even bring unrooted?
Be yourself... if I've helped at all, hit the like button.
You are not able to overclock your device without a custom kernel that allow it. You can only root atm if you unlock your bootloader. Unlock bootloader avoids the warranty.
Obviously, did you read the post I just posted??

im not sure i understand your frustration... the above post has a link with everything you need to know.. what else are you missing.
And the reason that no one wants to help you is because your asking questions that have been answered probably 1000 times. search around. there are several newbie friendly guides for unlocking and rooting. no offense but that's where you should go first before posting. you must be willing to search around and READ and chances are you will actually get an answer faster that way.
now i would like to help but first read the link posted above and THEN come back and ask questions and provide a more detailed explanation of your problem please and thank you

Ganggreen777, if you do come back and read this, for future reference, coming in here after you are already in fastboot is a little late to be asking questions if you don't know what you're doing. That's a good way to brick a device. I suggest doing all of you're homework first. Especially with this tablet. The TF300 makes an awfully expensive paperweight. :good:
Hopefully you got it all taken care of and you are now running TWRP with your favorite ROM. This forum has a wealth of knowledge, take advantage of it.
