Does Easy Battery Saver or Juice Defender and similar apps really conserve battery for android?? Im using Galaxy S3 on stock os 4.1.2. Thanks guys.

actually, they kill the background apps (usually unnecessory) which drain the battery...
so they can save battery but usually some system apps are also killed which restart at every boot
Edit: a better way of saving battery is freezing system apps that u dont use and undervolting or underclocking (both need root - search your device forum for more info)

im running kg6 icbinb but i feel like im using it too much, i use it for music, work out for like an hour and text heavily and facebook and youtube... i tried juice defender but it made me loose my connection most of the time...
Juice defender turns off your data connections when the screen turns off, so that's probably what is happening. The paid version lets you maintain connections with specific apps you choose, but you may want to try other battery saver programs to see if there is a free one with app control.
Alright lol thanks man!!

Set your apps to update manually. Automatic screen brightness. proper battery calibration. Will all help too

If you use the device a lot, and enjoy using it a lot, don't sweat it. The prior post has some good suggestions and I recommend reading through the battery life thread in the general section, good info there too.
one can find themselves obsessive with battery life performance to the point of not using the full potential of their device to their enjoyment - like me.
I'm waning myself off of caring too much, making progress...

Rooting is completely different . Not related with you battery juice.
1. So in case u want to extend your battery life switch off your data connection/WIFI when not in use as it uses most of the battery. When on 2G/3G battery drains like hell.
2. Turn of sync which also eats most of your battery.
As far as juice defender is concerned i personally didn't find that much of a difference using it. Set up is not that difficult either. Just install and use it. Not sure about the error you are getting.
Try to install deep sleep battery saver

hi bro
do as what i do in the pics
Settings=>Applications=>Mange Applications=>All=>You will see so many apps only the (chat, games, apps you downloaded yourself you don't use them at that moment )=>Force Stop
example:play store,yahoo,browser...=>Force Stop when you don't use them
After every restart your phone some apps automatically open again=>Force Stop
Data,WiFi,Bluetooth when you don't use them turn off them
some say black wallpapers use little bit less than color wallpapers pixels
don't use any launcher it use your battery so much because you run them
battery life apps it's all fake only you root maybe it will use less
(i use international stock firmware version it asia frimware and it's has so many apps from stock and automatically become open and it's not good eat my battery in bad way better for this to use some firmware that orginal with support of your country language and less apps)

my prefernce ddlf2+bam kernel

1) turn off wifi/mobile-data when not in use. Also, turn off autosync when not connected
2) Use 2g instead of 3g when net speed isnt an issue .. most browsing/messaging will work almost the same on 2g or 3g ... 3g uses a lot lot more battery juice compared to 2g/wifi
3) Turn off automatic location reporting by google maps
4) If you do all above, you can save more battery juice by uninstalling all battery saving apps and task killers
Upgraded to JB yesterday.. may i ask for your battery opinion on the new JB rom?
Sent from my GT-P6200 using XDA Premium HD app
About the battery, mine lasted yesterday for about 4hrs only. WiFi on and always browsing the Internet. And it's in the Airplane Mode. Jelly Bean is a RAM Hog unlike ICS, but RAM was increased to 828 MB. So yea. I downloaded Juice Defender Ultimate and see if it works and I hope it will work.
Deep sleep run well in mine

i had some trouble with mediaserver eating battery when restoring backup after wiping data. but only for a while, after that everything are back to normal. i do think that battery lasted somewhat longer with jellybean. probably 1/2 - 40 minutes longer on normal use, not much to mention, but there are differences. btw, i think you should do a clean data wipe after flashing with firmwares that are not made for your region. on mine, without a clean wipe, the battery life would go crazy.
It's slightly better than ICS. I'm now at 30% after 4 hours and 30 minutes of non stop usage which includes heavy gaming and with wifi turned on. GPS was also turned on for a while. Standby is amazing. My average 4-5 hours == 1 percent damage has been improved to 6-7 hours.
Note:
Debloated
Disabled some apps on start-up
Greenified
Also the new power saving mode actually works quite well.

Hmm i dunno why.. after upgrading to JB via mobile odin, unable to root.. battery life seems doubled , because when i use ICS it drains so quickly

I'm sorry I don't remember what apps I debloated because I usually delete the backups made by the NoBloat app. I saved around 130MB more or less. As far as I remember here are some of the apps:
2 Accu Widgets
Music Hub
Reader's Hub
Kobo Books
Zinio
Samsung Apps
SamsungsAppsUna2
Other Widgets that were 3-6MB [or reaching an MB] in size.
SNS
Apps that I find no use to and are not related to important the system.
As for the apps I disabled at start-up are mainly my apps that I don't need to run or has no use to run at start-up except for Sidebar Pro,Greenify and the likes. Some system apps like Software Update, World Clock, Some Google Apps. Seriously though, it's much more of a preference. You may use some of the apps I disabled. As long as it's not as important as SystemUI, you can pretty much turn it off. I suggest you use the ES Task Manager's Startup Manager and click Optimize. Then reenable some apps that you need and vice versa.

wow, with battery saver pro app, power saving mode turned on in settings, some debloating, nova launcher, some usage with data (H) always on and i'm down to 80%battery life after 10 hours! Not bad at all.
yes my batt is much better on JB than on ics, my tab has been pon stand by mode for almost 2 days and batt is still around 45$.
help please? what is the best battery saver?
Use greenify and disable auto sync. Basically no app is magic that can increase your battery capacity,
Greenify hybernates apps and prevent wakeups and disable auto sync prevent apps from updating every hour or so.

no, greenify works on ics, i'm using it on svhd
i also use battery doctor.. i dont know it works or not, i like placebo effect
I´m also using Greenify but in addition to that i use Profiles in the settings that automatically switch from 3g to 2g when i´m connected to my home or university wifi.
In my opinion a very efficient battery saver.
From my personal experience with Greenify :
Its indeed good at battery saving, however I experienced phone become unreachable while been untouched for about 3h, phone signal seems to be okay, however nobody can call me nor I can receive messages. It is barely unnoticeable since you text or call anyone, then signal seems to be refreshed.
