So I bought a RAZR maxx HD today and it already had the boot loader unlocked with team win recovery and a dark ROM. Well I want to give stock 4.1.2 a try, I cannot find a zip to flash in recovery to just have a stock rooted phone. Is there not one? Do I have to sbf? Thanks

I don't have the Maxx, but the Razr HD..
I recommend you to flash the stock ROM with an SBF (they're not SBF anymore, they are FXZ now).

Im getting my maxx hd in two days and noticed some ways to root on ics. If i get my maxx and its preloaded with jb can i still use matts utility to fastboot back to ics and get root then use rootkeeper?
Thanks!

It will probably come pre-loaded with ICS but if for some reason it comes with JB then yes you can restore back to ICS and root. Enjoy

I just got my good old RAZR Maxx HD after a repair and they already upgraded it to jb 4.1.1 (when I shipped, he had ICS). Is it possible to go back to ICS now? Anyone has done it? Thanks in advance.

Yes sir it is! Just Google matts utility and download that. Make sure to backup all your data before you restore your phone back to ICS. Enjoy!

Thanks man... but other people say it's impossible to downgrade to ICS once u had stock jb. How can I do it without bricking my spanking new Droid?

Other people don't know what they are talking about haha. I have been restored back to ICS multiple times. Use Matt's utility and I am sure you will not have any problems whatsoever.

Hi all,
I have a XT926 rooted with a locked bootloader. This is a phone supplied to me by my employer so I am hesitant about unlocking the bootloader which to my understanding is NOT reversible.
My question is are there any roms that I can use with Safestrap that are at least 4.1.2?
Hey here is a ROM that is 4.1.2 based.

Thanks but that requires an unlocked bootloader.
I'm almost positive I did not unlock the bootloader till 4.2.2 even though it said in the description of 4.1.2 that I should. I could be wrong though it's been some time now.

Okay I have safe strap, I used that to flash ROMs every time I try and flash a ROM it will say successful and gapps will say successful, but when I reboot the screen goes black and nothing appears. But I can go back to stock ROM and its fine.
Everything I did.
-Rooted
-unlocked boot loader with safe strap
-downloaded many ROM ex. Aokp, cm10.1
-turned off phone accessed safe strap
-made ROM slot in 1 nothing 2 nothing 3 nothing and 4 nothing
-wiped cache and other three
-installed ROM and gapps
-reboot and NOTHING!
4.1.2 RAZR HD

No need for safestrap on an unlocked BL use TWRP instead and it should work

Do I have to uninstall safe strap and if my boot loader is unlocked is that going to matter if so how would I uninstall and thanks
Sorry I'm kind of a newbie

Make sure to delete the partition you created with safestrap then uninstall it. Then use one of the tools in the development section if your not comfortable using fastboot commands to flash either twrp recovery or cwm. Then install your custom rom and it'll work fine.

How do uninstall I tried deleting the app and when I reboot my phone safe strap is still there it version 3.12
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda app-developers app
Aparently safestrap doesnt flash 4.2.2 roms.
I had this same problem. You'd be better of using clockwork mod.

You have to uninstall through the app like I said man. Not just delete it.

Exactly.reinstall ss uninstall recovery from within the app and then you're good.don't use cmw install twrp from hashcode.

I don't see why he shouldn't use cwm. I find it more noob friendly it's harder to do something by accident.

I have searched but didn't see anything. I would like to flash back to stock with CWM. Thanks in advance for your help!
Use the droid utility to flash back to stock except for the recovery.

Afaik the bootloader is locked and you can unlock the Maxx dev edition only by requesting an unlock key from Motorola.
Thanks !!

Sorry to bother you but just one last question since I have a Droid ultra will the unlock key from Motorola for the droid maxx Dev edition still work on my ultra?

Unless it's a Dev Edition, and AFAIK, the only Dev Editions were Maxxes, not Ultras, you won't be getting an unlock key from Motorola. Those are strictly for Dev Editions.
Man that really stinks I wish I got the maxx Dev edition thanks anyway though!
