If the graphics are updated from MC4, I am going to venture that after 2 years and some change GL may very well call it quits on our phone, not trying to be a downer. I have been very impressed how well they have continued to support our device but its got to end some time.
Although I am still hopeful, but will be waiting.

Yes true, Theve Kept Good Support all this time,

Agreed.
Controls is not really my concern. But the outdated processor. Same with dead trigger 2, im waiting for this game and hoping to be able to run those games and more upcoming game. Not being a downer but we got less than 50% chance. All this so called 'tegra powered devices' are starting to kill xperia play or should i say killed.
Still posible, MC4 is xpo and run smooth. Fingers crossed
Looking forward for xplay 2. For the meantime more gaming in my pc and ps vita.

Im not worried. This phone still performs fine compared to most phones, even with older hardware. A lot of people complain about lag on games and emu's that I dont lag at all on(mc4). They might be trying to game on ics or jb (lol).

Amen. Still rockin stock 2.3.4 and I rarely ever see lag in phone operation or gaming and can get days of battery life with regular use... yet anytime I get my hands on one of those offbrand ROMs, I'm almost guaranteed performance issues or severe battery life issues.
Thing that shocks me is that MC4 not only proves Xperia Play still has awesome performance in 2013... but it actually runs better than MC3 did on here.
It's all a game of optimizing a game to use the resources the hardware has...and I gotta admit Gameloft's getting better at it.

Agreed. If shadowgun, and other high graphics games can run smooth, obviously a lot of it is down to optimization, our hardware should be enough (especially while OC)

Awesome i can't wait for those games though im probably not going to play them on the play. (those would look awesome on a nexus 10 and now they support moga and ps3 controllers so it will be well optimized. But is not very portable.

Ok guys when we look at the ipad 4 the graphics are awesome, and modern combat 4 runs on 26-40 fps on our Xperia Play(at least for me) now lets talk about the system our phone is very slow compared to newer devices and when we look at Modern Combat 3 and Modern Combat 4, MC4 runs better because of the optimizaation so there is a little hope for Xperia Play! After this comparison we have Asphalt 8 which is Xperia Play optimized but it lagsas hell on some devices, for me the game works good with 20-26 FPS and i have not rooted or overclocked and my Bootloader is locked. So here we have a high end game running on our low end device!!! If Modern Combat 5 runs like asphalt 8 runs on Xperia Play I will be good with it cause it is playable with a pretty good experience and graphics! And the last but not least, The game development progress started in 2011 and Xperia Play is released in 2011 so that is a good chance, I say 30-45% for XPO> have a nice day

Naughty Dog belongs to Sony. Sony could certainly bring stuff like Jak and Daxter if they so wanted. But you know the traditional rift between Sony divisions.
More On Topic: I hope it supports the famous Kung Fu Mod. It was so great back then, you could really kick ass without the guns.
Maybe we will make some petiction for Sony to make Jak & Daxter games for our Playstation Certified devices, like Play? And I just want God Of War and Uncharted maybe - that's all I need.....What do you think guys?

As the title states. 2 new GL games coming soon. I have inquired to GL is they will be Xperia PLAY optimized and of course been waiting a week for Nova 3 and 2 days for Asphalt 7 without a peep from GL.... no surprise their customer service skills blow.... still its 2 new GL games.... heres to them hopefully being Xplay optimized and to not sucking
I wouldn't doubt that they're Xperia Play Optimized. While the quality is iffy, they've at least been somewhat diligent about trying to support the Xperia Play. My only worry is this horrible habit Gameloft's recently gotten into where they suck 5-40MB off the phone storage as "data" so that we can't move to the SD card (at least, not without going through partitioning hell)... that's murderous for a phone like ours that has 400MB.
Personally, what I wanna see is Max Payne, Monster Shooter and Stellacept Online in my database
NOVA 3 is supposed to drop any day now. Since Asphalt 7 is a GS3 launch title, I am sure we will see that at the end of the month.
I wonder if Rockstar has just forgotten about us Android gamers.

well i love nova since its a neat ripoff halo for mobile -> seeing it turns to crysis is even greater, but...how big are the chances that this game is not going to lag on our devices. after gangstar 3 and earlier MC3 lag updatecircle on-off, i dont that it will bring me fun instead of frustration. face it, its now like on pc, where good programming means **** instead of proper power devices to handle laggy codes.
As for MC3 the initial release was smooth. It was until not too long ago it lagged and had terrible controls due to an update. Still running itial.release and it's great. Always decline the update

MC3 is unplayable for me, Controls suck and I went to touch controls. Don't play it much.
Burnout...sorry I mean 'Asphalt' is the only decent Gameloft game in my opinion. It's the only one I still play today.

OMG that look amazing that's a game that deserves to be played on a gaming phone! I may go have a little pray for this to be playable on xplay even if its not optimized maybe game keyboard could lend a helping hand but I won't get my hopes up! Time to go play on my dads note 2 for abit!

I just hope that GL won't make it like in MC3 - right analog was just a big fail. Slide pad like in Dead Trigger is perfect.

IMO, some newer and the newest MC3 have screwed controls, but some of first version (even maybe first of first ) have it awesome. I never update game if controls/graphics/performance is great/good enough for smooth playing - sometimes it's not worth it like in MC3 .

It really depends on which version of MC3.
The Gameloft Wapshop version of MC3 (which, for some reason, has not been updated past 1.0) has ****ing incredible controls. But when it went on sale for $0.99, I decided to grab the Play Store version and that joint was whack. Play Store version has that nasty, dysfunctional, stupid goddamn simulated analog that we all hate.
I just don't understand how Gameloft manages to screw up things they previously got right. NOVA 2 has perfect use of the right analog, and they've been adequately praised for it. Why even mess with the formula?
It's beacuse now they not making seperated apk/version for XPlay, and our optimized from GL games (most of) is in fact just making controls invisible, and touchpads are not different device for moving, but something like fingers on screen. Why I think that way? It's simple, it can be seen in code, and also while playing - there is a bug in Wild Blood, when left touchpad stop working. You don't know why? Try close your slider. And you got stuck in some place left touchscreen button, in nerly central place of display. This is how it works on most new GL games. I'm not saying it is bad, cause sometimes even that simple "emulation" work perfect, but sometimes I think they didn't catch and find all bugs when coding it.
And ummm....Guys....Let's get back to topic, and wait for HoO&C. It in iTunes for about 5-6 hours, so maybe soon in GPlay .

Right now, only teaser of trailer (Jesus Christ!) but at least we know it's coming. No official info about Freemium or not (hopefully the second one) and Xperia Play support with our game-panel. Gameloft is very good company but with some known problems (relase dates, lack in support, bugs sometime, and freemium in most 2013 games), but I'm very positive about next Gangstar, hope they want make a fight with GTA on Android/iOS so they won't ruin game with some IAP. There you go some pictures leaked and one video. No exact relase date etc.so don't be too excited .
UPDATE:
Game is out now, and it's huge, there is a problem with Xperia Play compatibility via Google Play, but if you finally realized how to get game itself with apk and data obb, it is fully working on our device with our touchpanel + sticks . Yayy! Hopefully new GL games will have the same situation, cause I think for Gameloft is just few minutes to make it working on XP, just the most big problem is performance and graphics, but it can be handle if we have graphics options inside the game .

First Dev diary released and shows off some of the gameplay and also they tell us that they are using the same havok engine from MC4. Kinda hoping this will be optimized as would be one of the best sandbox games ever for Xperia Play .

Less offtop, it looks like we will get preety nice gameplay with lot of features (cards, fights, desert), hopefully, just last time (or no) - Gameloft please, optimize it for Play, and no lags at all (not on high for sure ).

Yes, fully optimized but has a few lag issues. As this is on a new engine we hope it will run alot better.
Gangstar Rio lagged? I never experienced that before, it was always smooth; stock ROM and stock kernel.
Anyway, very excited for this. I just hope since it'll be using Havok engine, it won't be carrying over the problem that MC4 has which is lagging with Wi-Fi off but smooth as butter with Wi-Fi on.
If they are running it off the Havok Engine then the Graphics should be Sweet! , But i hope Gangstar actually bother with more things like tilting on bikes for wheelies and i hope they make it XPO as well as making it SMOOTH!, Im sure they can... As some games like Dead Trigger or ShadowGun (Hint Hint) do GREAT in optimization for the Play,
We will have to push the Roms and Kernels to ULTIMATE performance if Gameloft Ends support,

UHHHH???????? For me it shows as "Requires Android:2.3 and up".
No cash in my Wallet to download this. Will have to check again in some days.

It lists my PLAY as incompatible, which sucks, but the game itself is beautiful on my other devices. I'm not going to get anything done at work tonight for sure.
I swear I almost had a heart attack when I read this on Rockstars Google+ page. Reading on, I learned that it'll be launched next month and will have "full controller support". I wish and pray that the Xperia Play is included and GTA runs well. Gather around people, one of the best games of all time is about to land on Android.

well i pray too for controller controll and for smooth playing.but consider if gta vice city(ps2 game)runs fine i think san adreas will run the same

Many people are speculating that the game will require 1GB of ram, though there is no word yet from Rockstar. I imagine flying around over the city in a harrier jet would require loading a large amount of textures. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Here's to hoping GTASA will be XPO. God I thought I'd be contented with VC being playable (and 100% complete-able, as I did ) and now this news... if it becomes XPO, then my ageing phone can now rest... and time to move on.

I would think that if IT"S NOT xpo, then it would be time to move on.
The queation is not wether it will work with the gamepad, the question is will it work at all.
To be honest i dont see the chance of this running on the x play. You defenetly cant count on it. Maybe you can reduce the grafics to a level where you are able to run the game on that hardware but there is no reson for rockstar to support a more the 2 year old device. It might not even work on Gingerbread at all...

Exactly. The amount of enthusiasm for this game around here is astounding. As a veteran gamer I can only tell you people that GTA: SA did not run that well even on the platform it was created for - the PS2. There were occasional stutters when there was too much action on screen.
And how much more powerful is that compared to Xperia Play?
BTW I also have the PC version which runs OK - on a an Intel i5 CPU and nVidia 2GB graphics card.
It's nice that people are still interested in Xperia Play and new releases, but... let's be realistic.
...then eat everything you said if it's XPO. There's no nothing wrong with hoping. And if in the end it's not XPO, it'll be definitely understandable.

Its not going to be a direct port. They have already mentioned they are changing the lighting and shadow effects. so who knows what else there changing so that it will run on mobile better. Also your PC is most likely running it with maximum settings.

I am pretty sure that the Iphone 4s with 512 ram will be supported ! so why shouldn´t our plays also be supported xd i mean i can overclock also to 1.4 ghz so ^^
