[Q] Where to buy a new battery for the SGR - Samsung Galaxy R i9103

I have moved on from SGR to Nexus 4 but still my SGR is in use and is with my wife. I am running Stock Indian ICS (rooted).
Lately my wife is complaining that the battery is dying very fast. Even though it is charged overnight, it just dies in couple of hours. I have noticed that the battery has also bulged and based on some googling it is a definite case of battery going kaput. Now I am in need of a new battery and was wondering if it is fine to order it from EBay India where the cost of the batteries varies from INR 375 to 1K or should I try any other local shop. Need advice from you friends.

Batteries are life for Mobile. But if we choose Bad one then It may be harmful too. So, I would suggest to go for Branded & Original product then pirated or looking same kinda.

I definitely want to buy an original battery as I dont want to take any kind of risk as I have seen many cases in news of exploding batteries.
Would it be a good idea to visit the Samsung Service Center for the new battery? Do they sell it?

I got mine recently at ssc..costs around 600 rs

Its more then enough. They charge too much.

Thanks all. Visited the nearest SSC but they didn't have it in stock. Then went to a Samsung SmartPhone Cafe in Phoenix Market City and got it for Rs.550 with 6 months warrenty. At first they said that they dont have any battery for GSR and I had to convince them that it is the same as I9100. After matching the model number they gave it to me.......

Buy 1650mah battery in USA?

I need an extra samsung oem 1650mah battery. Does anyone know where it can be bought in america?
i take it you checked google/ebay/amazon? i know there was another thread dedicated to this topic a while back. try to search for it.
It seems like all sellers are in europe which seems strange for an american phone
strange for an "american phone" made by a korean company?
Uh I didn't have to buy the phone in korea. As far as I know they don't sell t-mobile branded phones in korea.

And I meant the phone is sold in america sold so the battery should be. What if it goes bad/gets lost etc
i dont get why your so upset at the fact you cant just walk in a store and get a battery for a specific phone. i work in a place that sells phones, batteries and accessories. if we carried every battery made for every phone it would fill the store two times over. just order the battery.

This phone shares the exact same dimensions as a few other phones in the samsung line up and there are multiple capacities available that are all the exact same size battery (for instance, the Vibrant has a 1500mAh battery compared to the SGS4G's 1650mAh battery even though both batteries are exactly the same size) . So Im sure being that other SGS4G/Vibrant variants being sold elsewhere in the world, this is why you can find batteries in many different places around the world.
My local Tmobile store has them (Fort Worth TX)
It also seems amazon has them as well.
local store
lol, my local store in Plano Texas tried to sell me the vibrant battery kit....i had to ask the guy to read the mAh until he figured out he was wrong.
i don't care that they don't have them at the store, but jeez....at least know what you are selling!
This battery is fifty in a store. Go to amazon ten bucks

Also the 1800mAh one from the S2 Epic 4G Touch works great....I got mine from Amazon for $7 delivered in 4 days....it came from California
What is the BEST battery for this phone?
I just got the Galaxy S 4G (used), and it came with the original 2011 battery. It seemed to be "OK", but I wanted something better. I wanted something newer.
I purchased an "authentic" Samsung 1650 battery off eBay for $13. It has a 2013 manufacture date.
Well, I got it, and immediately felt something was "off". The font & spacing were slightly different than my old battery, and it had a "cheaper" feel to it, and its label wasn't even on the battery correctly. It looks like a typical counterfeit battery.
I pop it in my phone, and it seems to run out a lot quicker than my old battery. I've 0% to 100% cycled it a few times, and it still seems weak.
So, I could try to get another "authentic" Samsung that probably is a fake, or I can embrace the "after-market" batteries and go for an *extended* one.
I've seen 1750 mAh and 1900 mAh batteries. Are those any good? Do they at least last longer than a Samsung 1650 mAh battery?
This what I bought..they work great.
No problems at all and you get 2
plus a charger just for the battery's.

too each there own but the thrill doesn't do anything for me. bit if you like the thrill and infuse then the sgs2 I coming out. something to think about.
anyway I can't stand 3d anything. so I put more emphasis on other screen specs and Samsung hss that down pretty good though the resolution could be better.
the thrill had a lot of power and the hdmi is built in not through an adapter so its convienient. it seems sturdy and its the right price on contract while the infuse is a bit over priced till the sgs2 comes out when I'm sure the price will drop a bit.

I got my infuse at Best Buy as an upgrade for $20 ($65 after tax) by having them price match Fry's electronics weekly ad (good till the 29th)... but I think its going to end up going back to Best Buy before my 30 days are up.
I like it just not enough to justify a 2 year contract on a device that will be outmatched in a matter of days. I will just end up waiting until the Att version of the SGS II goes on sale on AmazonWireless for $99 (tax free) and upgrade then. An extra $35 is def worth it for the SGS II...

On a side not im holding out for the nexus prime if it comes to att that is a beast of a phone and nexus always gets its updates in a timley manner .

I temporarily had the thrill for a week in a half, it was a nice phone. everything worked like I expected but what ruined it for me was the battery life. I couldn't get through half my school day before it was already dying , the gps always failed to lock, and I missed the super amoled screen. All in all, I sold it to a family member and ran back as fast as I could to the infuse.

17-20 hrs on my thrill ....one charge. it took alot of work but it is achievable.
In the end my thrill went back over a bad sd slot.
I am going to see what comes out over the next few weeks and stick with my infuse for now
(which I am lucky to get 6 hours out of before swapping batteries)

LOL what do you do on your phone that kills a battery in 6 hours?! I easily pull 14-16 hours with at least 4 hours screen time, sometimes more.
FYI, GSII drops on Sunday.
6 hours from an Infuse = something is MAJORLY wrong.
I use my phone a bit more than the average user. my biz slacks off in the fall until next spring...i have nothing better to do lol.
Today is what i consider a good day...7 hours and at 50% but I have hardly used it.

this is funny. I measure my battery life in days. not hours. I can do 2 days with what I consider heavy use. that means streaming pandora for an hour or two and cronic obsesive checking xda. and some very short phone calls.
I can do 3 days with medium to light use but I have a habit of charging every night during the work week even if I'm at 90% which does happen. my captivate was the same way.
I know it is better to let the battery run lower and to not leave it on charge after it is full because these batteries have better longevity if kept around 60% but I use the dock as my alarm clock in the morning.

Most if not all States make you pay tax based on the full retail price of the phone not on the subsidized (2yr contract, etc.) price. Really sucks, but state gov'ts thought they were losing too much tax $ when Cell providers realized the real money was in the service contracts not the hardware and started giving the phones away for free or for steep discounts. IIRC, first the gov't said no free phones, so the cell providers started the penny phone deals. Then the state legis. basically said f*ck it, sell it for what you want, but we still get tax on full retail. At least that's how it went down in Cali according to a buddy sold phones in the early days.... . I still do a double take at the register when getting a new upgrade
I guaranty i use mine at least 4 times more
Screen on is slightly less that total use. I am going to try some of the tweaks I was using on the thrill but the msin one I cant get to work on the infuse is underclocking....it just bogs down too much. the thrill handled things much better. the infuse underclocked just can not keep up with me.

Pretty sure that's ONLY in California. At least, that's the only place I've heard it being charged that way. In the NE, it's taxed on the subsidized price.
That being said, I just sold my Infuse for a Thrill last week, already had to replace it once, and the second is just as bad. I highly recommend saying FAR away from the Thrill.

[Q] How much is my phone worth

I am trying to sell my phone and having no luck , tell me if i am being unrealistic.
Here is what I have
Refurb certified like new S3 that i never used , just turned on, looked at it then off again.
I have the back cover and hyperion nfc battery with no box or charger
I having issues getting 350 for it , swappa, and craigs
Not posting it on XDA bec i dont know how to do it lol
But am i asking for too much ?
Thanks in advance for your input
Its not an unreasonable price but having the box would def be a plus in your favor . People tend to like to have all the original packaging when buying a phone if u lowered ur price by 50 u should sell it, craigslist is ur best bet for sale, start high until u get you asking price . Hope this helped ..

I sold my Sprint gs3 that was six weeks old for 275.00. I was really disappointed in that price case I wanted 350.00 but it depends on your area. My area has been hit hard with the economy so in order to sell it had to go low. I was asking 350.00 for almost 2 weeks with no one interested. I lowered it to 300 and the highest offer I got was 275.00. Good luck with it. U might get 350.00 but you'll be holding it a while.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I don't think that's too much.
I had someone interested in mine for $425 but mine was brand new with accessories and box. I decided not to sell, but if I can get $425 for mine you should be able to get 350 for yours.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
If i sold my gs3 i wouldnt take anything under $350 for it.
I think it's a good price.. If u get the charger and try to find a box it will sell quick..

best place to purchase oem battery

The battery on my Nexus 4 no longer holds a charge very well. Neither LG or Google directly sell replacement batteries from what I gather. Does anyone know a reputable source to purchase an OEM replacement battery? I'm considering this seller on ebay:

but you just never really know what's legitimate these days. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Also,
Does anyone know where I can find an OEM Nexus 4 USB cable? I know any micro usb would suffice but I happen to like the aesthetic design of that cable.

Battery "life" of a lithium ion is around 500 cycles. If you've charged your phone daily, you've hit that 500 cycle mark. At this point, your battery has probably lost up to 20% of its capacity.

Dude, why would you buy a screen from eBay for 90 euros and don't even know 100% if it's original, when for 80 euros you can buy it directly from LG. I bought one a month ago and it's amazing, plus you have 1 year warranty.

I don't think it's Europe only. On the right side there is a picture that says "Worldwide shipping..." which should mean that they ship spare parts anywhere in the world. If you want to order something maybe try and contact them first if they can ship to your country.
