hi guys,
One of the issues i have found is that there are many great calendar apps, but their notification/alarm options are rubbish. Lets say i use a calendar app such as Business Calendar and i set it to notify me at a certain time for an alarm to go off, but when the alarm does set off, i accidently touch the screen and the alarm gets cancelled. Is there a calendar app which can stop me from doing that by either giving me a number to enter or maths problem to solve or a pattern to follow?
I want a calendar app that:-
1. Can set off an alarm, but the user should NOT be able to turn off the alarm without entering a number or solve a maths problem...at the moment these type of apps are totally separate from a calendar app.
2. Can choose a seperate alarm app as it's notification.
Can you guys please recommend any such app?
Thanks very much!
BUMP!
Anyone please?

I never want to receive an email notification for a calendar event. I hate getting 2 notifications for the same thing (I always set a popup). I am assuming that this is a default Android action as it happens on both my Tab and my Blade.
Anyone know how to turn off this default setting? Or change it to popup? I've looked everywhere I can think of.
TIA

I think you need to go to web Google Calendar and set the default 'Notifications' options in the settings of the calendar in question. There are options to set it to pop-up and/or e-mail and/or sms. You can also control how updates in events are handled.

Trust me to be looking in the wrong place!
What was weird was I needed to turn all the invitation notifications off even if though I've never set an invitation up when creating an event.
But I'm sorted and happy - thank you
Hoping someone can help me with this issue:
One of the "voice command" apps I was using set an alarm, and now I can't get the alarm icon to go away from the notification bar. I'm using a TouchWiz-based ROM (Synergy), but the clock app doesn't show any alarms set/active. In fact, I deleted every alarm and the icon is still there. I'm sure it's something that one of the "voice command" apps set, but can't figure out how to remove it. I even uninstalled all the voice command apps I use, and it's still there.
Is there a way to see all active clock alarms outside of the TouchWiz Clock app?
Thanks much.
##Edit: Figured it out. Alarm had been set using a desk clock app while in dock that is different from normal alarm.
My Gear S3 used to do an alarm where i had to dismiss (bezel left or right). I've since moved to a OnePlus 6T and my company has moved to Outlook so i lost my calendar alarms. I recently synced my calendar to google stock but i only get notifications, I no longer get the alarm... is this a feature only for Samsung phones? Is there a way to get it back? This was one of the main reasons to have a smart watch, as i would get a notification that i had to action on my watch, and all the information for the meeting was available.
Any options?
Never see an "Alarm" on my Gear (1,2,S,S2 or S3) for calendar event, just notification or for the Samsung phone alarm (but different from calendar).
Otherwise I use "Calengoo" for my Calendar event and I have customized Snooze action or dismiss. If I do nothing it auto-snooze.

I searched for Calengoo, installed it, but there's no galaxy wear app for it and it doesn't do anything useful. All it seems to do is add entries to my google calendar and does meeting reminders on my phone and nothing on the watch. Am I missing something? I already have my calendar synced into the google calendar that appears on the watch. I get notifications, but I don't get the full screen dismissable/snoozable alarm for calendar events.
To be clear, I am asking about a full watch screen alarm based on my google calendar where it vibrates just like a phone call, and i need to either rotate left or right. These used to work fine and now the feature has vanished and I can't figure out how to get it back.
Calengoo is just an app witch add action and notification action for Calendar event.
When an event occur you have a notification (with sound or alarm sound you want) on phone and on the watch.
On the watch you have all action set on Calengoo for exemple for me when event occur, on the S3 I can select "Snooze for 5min", "Snooze for 15min", "Snooze for 30min" or "Dismiss". If I do nothing on the watch I have another same Calendar notification 7min after. Similar to an alarm with a "Dismis" and a "Snooze" and an "Auto-Snooze" option (but not with the bezel) .
Hi,
Is there any possibility to make as default a third-party alarm (watch) app instead of the built-in Samsung watch?
I am using a better one (for me), namely AMdroid that has wider configuration possibilities (e.g. alarm at every 48 hours) and also has good smartwatch integration. But it has one problem: the alarm cannot appear on the Flip3's outside small screen, so every time I have to open the phone in order to stop the alarm. If I could somehow make the AMdroid as default alarm app, maybe I would handle it on the small screen too.
Yep, this is a real problem... . I'm using sleep as my alarm app and it doesn't appear at the front screen at all, so not even as the next alarm :-( That's a pitty ... .

Also use a third-party alarm. But I love it that it can't utilize the coverscreen. I never accidentally press snooze anymore as I really have flip the phone open etc.
Me neither but it would be nice to see the alarm in the front screen widget at least.

I'm trying to replace the stock alarm on the watch by Google Clock app.
In order to do this I need to disable the Samsung Alarm app on the watch (via ADB commands), that's easy...
Also I have installed Google Clock app on the watch via the Play Store but when I add an alarm to the watch and is triggered,
the sound and vibration is played but the screen is not turned on and the activity to snooze or dismiss the alarm is not displayed and,
in order to stop the alarm I need to go apps list then enter into the Google Clock app and, when I enter the app, the activity to snooze or dismiss the alarm is displayed.
Any solution to this?
Thanks
Since the timer app from Samsung needs alot of battery power, I´m using the Google Timer. There is no need to disable the Samsung app and I´m able to start the timer by doubleklick on the home button and stop the timer by tapping the display.
Maybe the Google Clock needs the Samsung Clock (in the background) to function properly?

Thanks for the reply.
I have tried also not disabling stock alarm but no luck: the alarms I create in the phone are aplyed fine in the watch and the watch displays the dialog to dismiss/snooze it, but the alarms I create on the watch only plays sounds and the dialog is only displayed when I enter the Google clock app
Finally got working by manually grant a permission to the Google Clock app (in the watch):
Code:
pm grant com.google.android.deskclock android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW
