Make sure you have linked the dex and lib files too.
After linking apps it takes some time to display how much free memory you actually have.
You can also reboot your phone to see changes.
I have linked all the 3 files...then also my internal space gets low...

Im also having the same problem. Rather than increasing my internal it is in fact decreasing.

I somehow have only 2.44 gbs of internal memory free and I can't figure out how to free more up. I used my back up pro and did a factory reset and I can't figure out whats eating The memory . I don't have many apps. Any help would be awesome. Thanks

Well you may have plenty of photos and videos in there. Put in the external SD card and go to camera app options. There you should be able to choose where to save the snaps and videos.

No that's not it. Thanks though

Maybe it's leftover files from an HD game(Gameloft) they leave like 500mb or more of files behind when you uninstall them. you have to go in and delete the left over manually.

Apparently Gameloft games are so large in size they actually add weight to the phone. (500mg, joke explainer, etc.)

2.44??? Your lucky, I just checked my ''internal phone storage'' and i only have 1.28 GB
and for my phone memory, total space is 5.44gb, and available space is 4.55gb
but i also have a 32gb micro sd card.
maybe a simple question, but how would I free up some internal memory without messing up my set-up i have now? Is it even possible? lol
on ICBINB KG6 and not really much on the phone, maybe 10 apps. Have 269mb left, normal?
269 is a decent amount of space. Move apps to sd. Link 2sd.

I really want to get the charge. But with the internal space being only what 2gb. How many apps can u install before u run into problems. I know u can have a 16 gb card. But all apps u can't move to sd. Even if u do some portion is still left on the internal. Well any feedback will help me make the move thanks.
You would have to be insane to fill that much space. I have 150 user apps installed and have 700 megs free. I store all my apps internally. Also, you can get the charge for free on amazonwireless.com

Out of the 1.15gb available for apps, i have used less than half of it with lots of large games. I keep them in internal memory because it is faster than sdhc 2x.

You can send all your apps to sdcard anyways

Its because the phone has internal SD that mounts as mnt/sdcard which is normally external on phones that don't have internal SD storage.
So basically, the expanded slot is mainly for files and media, correct?

yeah, but with the amount of internal storage available on these devices, i see NO benefit to moving apps to sd. that was a benefit with older phones, but it seems all the newer models coming out have ample room for app installs. apps2sd seems like a worthless hassle to me any more.
I have to use apps2sd because the Market seems to want to default all my installs to the system storage rather than what it calls the usb storage...am I missing something here? My Captivate defaulted to the internal storage and I would often move into the external sd. My Infuse loaded all apps on the external sd card. This phone seems to go to the very limited system storage options (only like 1.3 gig free). So I feel like I have no choice but to continue using APPS2SD.

What apps are you running that you need THAT much internal storage for apps?
Samsung typically leaves 2gb for internal app storage, the 16gb internal SD for media ect..
I've got well over 150 apps on my phone and haven't come close to using my internal storage.
Well, I need more than the 2GB of internal storage but not much more. Just not used to the way this phone handled app storage compared to my past phones.

Give Link2SD a try; it's fantastic and allows you to move apps, one at a time or multiples (under menu button) to the ExternalSD card (plus it allows you to do so much more, see link above). It sees the External card as it should see it, an SD card that can have apps and data on it. App2SD doesn't give you a choice to move to the ExternalSD card, it only moves from phone to InternalSD and vice versa.

Our internal SD has a rough 4 gb. If you want to use your External you would have to switch the points at where your apps can get downloaded to. There's a mod floating here around XDA that can exactly do that.
Have you flashed a lot? I found that oftentimes, I have a spare LOST.dir folder lying around from my previous builds! I freed up nearly 1 GB just by cleaning that alone!
