I was adding a new rom to my phone when I accidentally hit reboot after I deleted everything off of it. Now when I try to flash stock onto it using odin it just vibrates every two seconds and doesnt do anything on the screen it's just black. Please help!!!
If your Odin flash finished successfully and that stuff is happening afterwards just pull the battery put it back in go to recovery and clear cache and factory reset. You you should be OK after that.

I tried that. It just keeps vibrating and flashes samsung. it won't let me get to the recovery to clear it all. :crying:
Does it go to download mode? I hope it does. Flash a cwm tar recovery clean up and then flash stock again.

yes it does go into download mode. can you please post a link for that so I no Im putting the right thing onto it. sorry Im a noob lol
Just reflash your stock with Odin one more time and watch it finish successfully. If reflashing didn't work read the thread for restoring to stock by vincom. Everything you need is there and don't hesitate to read more and make sure you know what you're doing. Don't check any extra options in Odin either!

I was trying to flash a eaglebloods ginger bread on my g2x... however every time the phone boots up it immediately goes into Clockworkmod Recovery and doesn't boot the OS. I've tried formatting and reinstalling the rom but i still get the same problem of the phone going directly into recovery instead of booting. Please help!
have you ever dropped the phone? Maybe the hardware button (volume down is stuck)is failing? I've never heard it automatically rebooting to recovery unless selected from the recovery to do so.
no i haven't dropped it or anything... the last thing i remember doing to the phone before it started doing this was clearing the cache and davilk cache...then it goes immediately to recovery...i just got the phone too, i hope i didn't brick it or something
you didn't "brick" it look up what that means in Urban Dictionary, before using it. If anything reflash the recovery with NVflasher or try a different rom.
tried reflashing clockwork and still have the same problem
tried a new rom? maybe use the clean up tool from in the dev section.
Re nvflash cwm. This has happened to me several times. Do not try to flash anything else until you nvflash cwm again. If that don't work use the rom for recovery in nvflash that is in the dev section.

Try using this NVFLASH technique. It should restore your ROM & recovery to stock.

But the question is did any part of the flash fail. Just like flashing a rom. You can get bad flashes. Happens to me lots of times.
Bottom line flash the rom for recovery through nvflash and it will solve it. I've softbricked myself wayyyy too many times and got it back the same way. If it turns on and shows any graphic its not hard bricked.

Three finger salute
Hold volume up, volume down and power until you get to the Samsung splash screen then release the power button. You should find yourself in recovery after the kernel splash screen. If it goes into your boot animation, you failed and should do it again.
Edit: I saw that most of your other stuff is with the SGSIII. Do you have a SGS4G that you are doing this on, or did you wonder here by mistake?

Pull the battery first, with the USB unplugged. Put the battery back in, then do the three finger salute. That's what I do when reboot loops happen for me...

yes guys! forget about the s3 sig, i have it also, but i rooted a sgs4g of my friend and installed Ccustom rom, not he had this issue after like 5 months i told him to reflash the ROM and hes in a bootloop, he CANT get into recovery :/, he cant boot only odin!.
If you are doing this via proxy (him actually doing what you tell him) then tell him to get rid of odin and download one of the Heimdall one clicks. If you can get into bootloader mode you can flash a back to stock.
Also If you pull the battery and wait a couple minutes then put it back while holding the three buttons sometimes that will jumpstart recovery mode.
We have an awesome guide on how to get back to stock gingerbread which will allow your friend to flash back to a stock rom if he can get into download mode. Full guide with pictures

Well of he is using odin, this is a better one click for him. You get rooted with a cwm kernel.

Hello All - I am a long time viewer of the forum, Recently I noticed an update available for the GS# to 4.2.2. I downloaded the Rom and began my normal process of using ROM Manager to boot into recovery mode to install the latest file. When the update finished applying I was presented with a brief view of the Samsung boot screen and then remained stuck on the Google Boot Screen.
I downloaded a stock firmware to apply with Odin 3.07 but it fails halfway through the write process.
Can someone please give me a hand or point me in a direction if you experienced the same problem.
Also when I try to load into recovery mode the phone screen remains black.
Thanks for any help!
Nick
What rom did you try to upgrade? Link please? And just to verify, do you have a Verizon GSIII?

I tried to download the 4.2.2 file from the following location, rootzwiki - "aokp-d2vzw-jb-mr1-build-4", went through rom manager and now is timing out on the google screen.
I do still have the phone with me currently. Thanks for any help you can provide.
I never use Rom Manager so that's not surprising to me. When you pull the battery then hold power, home, and Up until it vibrates does it boot to recovery? I would suggest flashing through CWM.

Thanks SlimSnoop I have tried roughly 15 times and am still not having any luck, are there any other tools you or anyone can suggest??
Yea, as long as you can boot into download mode then I suggest you utilize Odin and flash a stock image. There are two routes that you can go:
1) Odin flash the Verizon OTA VRBLK3 stock tar from DroidStyle's guide in the dev section. With this method, you would be returned to out of the box VRBLK3 and would need to root/unlock then flash roms again. The Odin tars included here are labeled as wiping /sdcard so be mindful of this.
2) Odin flash a rooted VRBLK3 image from mrRobinson thread. His thread contains Odin flashable rooted tars that are exactly the same as the OTA equivalent except they are rooted already. With this method, you would just need to unlock your bootloader using EZ Unlock v1.2 before flashing any custom roms. There's two versions of each rooted image here, one that wipes /sdcard and one that does not. So if you download the one labeled as wiping /sdcard all of your contents will be completely erased.

Sounds like you forgot to Un-Check Repartition in odin. Once you select the image you want to flash, it will auto-check the Repartition box (even if you unchecked it before). I would just try again and make sure its not checked before beginning
I made sure to uncheck repartition. I had a friend who was somewhat knowledgeable of this type stuff and he told me to do that... Is there anything else I could do?

No. NO. It's not a brick or anything. I recommend you flash ICS. It's much faster and better, also because it has it's own recovery. After you flash ICS you have to load up its recovery, hold the volume and the power button and wipe data and cache. It should boot flawlessly. If you do want gingerbread install clockwork mod and wipe cache and data. It should boot up.

Fixed. Thanks man.
Hopefully, I have done the due research and surveying before posting this.
So I had Jellybean (4.2.1, I believe) installed and running for the last few months, and have decided to unroot and go back to stock.
So, I followed what most online posts have instructed and got the Blaze.pit and Samsung t769 tar file.
I then ran them on ODIN, and even got the success "PASS" note.
Then the trouble began.
I've been stuck boot looping since then, but it won't let me go to the recovery mode.
If I take the battery out and back in and press the both volumes and power, tiny green speckles start to show. And the screen fills up to near white after 10 minutes or so, but nothing really happens. (i.e. stuck like that until I take the battery out)
I figured out when I hold the volume buttons and connect to the PC (with the device off), I can still go to the downloading mode (ODIN mode), but still I can't access recovery mode.
I am positive I didn't check Re-Partition box when I ran Odin, so hopefully this isn't bricked.
I don't NEED to go to the recovery mode, but I figure that's how I'd "try" to get out of boot looping.
Thank you for reading and for your help in advance.

Yes, when I try to get into the recovery mode (volume up&down + power), ultimately the screen ends up looking like that.
Do you know how I can undo that?

So first register at www.sammobile.com, then search SGH-T769 under firmware and download the August 2012 ICS or The Feb 2013 ICS Firmware, wait for the download to finish (took me 30 minutes) then extract which ever firmware zip you downloaded then using Odin click on PDA and select the .md5 file which is located in the extracted ICS Firmware Folder that you've downloaded from sammobile.com
Download the PIT file here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
Click on PIT in Odin and then select the one downloaded from the link above
then make sure re-partition isn't checked and start the flashing process after it is done flashing and reboots you'll have stock ics to install custom recovery just simply follow the instructions over at the root ics stock thread found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
This will flash a custom recovery.
