I am getting a strange beep (simular to a PC system alarm) when receiving notifications while the screen is locked using, [Device] [Samsung GT-N8013] running [ROM] [Collective Edition XXCMX3 v6 Dark Side]. 1st, I assured that the beep I am hearing was not a notification I had configured. 2nd, Not recognizing the beep as any of my notifications I checked all notifications sounds in /system/media/audio and it was not any of those I am hearing. 3rd, Researched with no luck except it's possibly the Kernel causing this beep to happen. I am currently using the [ROM] [Collective Edition XXCMX3 v6 Dark Side] and [Kernel] [3.0.31-813049 se.infra.sep-80 #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jan 9 23:01:59 KST]. The beep seems to only be triggered while the device is locked, by multiple apps, not just one and as far as I can tell it only seems to happen after the device has been locked and not in use for some time. I apologize if there are already any threads/posts on this already, I searched before posting with no luck, and I haven't yet reached the minimum amount of posts to post this under the correct thread.

In the new v5.4 when u get a text the lock screen comes on. Is there to have it not do that and just flash led? I don't like that anybody can look at my messages when I get them.
Thanks

Inspire me, I'm happy to answer your question, but please post all rom related questions in the respective rom thread. All roms are different and not everyone is using the same. Your question will get answered quicker too.
That said, go to settings, privacy, and uncheck display message text on lockscreen. It doesn't keep the lockscreen from coming on, but it's one way to do what you need. I hope that helps. See you over at the CoreDroid thread.
I appreciate that. I did that. I just don't like my screen coming on for battery purposes. I can't post on the thread until I have exceeded 10 posts then I definitely will

How are you getting the screen to light up on receiving a text message? My screen has never lit up from a text notification without using something like GoSMS. Right now if my device is locked, it will only vibrate on text. I'd like vibrate+screen for say 10 seconds.
Many times my phone is on vibrate/silent and I miss a text message because I have no visual cue. I'd use the LED light, but that keeps blinking until you clear the notification.
I'd be okay if I could configure the LED to only flash 3 or 4 times then stop, or stop after say a minute.
Back to topic: Is my phone doing it right, or is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?
Yeah I see your post count now. Not sure this can be done with stock lockscreen. You may try handscent sms or widgetlocker.
I didn't have this problem til I updated to v5.4 and I have had all the coredroid Rome from v4.5

Since 1.9.16 custom contact ringtones does not work anymore.
If a contact with a custom ringtone calls me the phone ring the default ringtone instead of the custom one.
Setting another contact ring tone does not make any difference.
Also tried Rings Extended with no luck.
I went back to 1.9.9 and the problem was not there.
Unfortunately i can not use 1.9.9 cause of the bluetooth problem it has.
Does anybody has similar problem with 1.9.16 ?
After flashing 2-3 other roms and no problem occurred (always restoring everything with titanium) i found the cause of the problem.
I had not realized that i had the problem when the screen was off, cause i have a 15 off timer and its always off and always i restore my settings from Titanium.
The problem was caused by screen-off profile of setcpu!
i tried to change frequencies or governors but no luck.
removing the screen-off profile completely everything runs as expected...
I cannot figure out why a profile 100-400MHz screen-off can cause this problem since other roms worked ok.
well, now with 1.9.23 there is no way i can make contact ringtones to work,
i made a full wipe and setup form scratch but contact ringtones does not work.
i cannot understand what i am doing wrong.
i put my ringtones at /sdcard/MIUI/ringtone.
select a global ringtone from there which works ok and then i select some contact ringtones from there but they get ignored!
whatever i try always the global ringtone rings ! ignoring the contact settings!
This happens only to brainmasters MIUI, formels and MIUI original works great!
also work at 1.9.9 brainmasters MIUI.

Unfortunately I cannot help you with your problem, but I do have a question for you. How are you setting your screen to 15 seconds? I am using brainmasters miui and can not set any lower than 30 seconds. I want to set 15 but cannot figure any way to do that.
sadly after too many efforts brainmaster miui 1.9.23 refuses to play contact ringtones even at stock install without any other program installed. (i didn;t install setcpu also).
Other miuis don't have this problem nor brainmasters 1.9.9.
flashed 1.10.7 to a brand new i9023.
its first rom after rooting.
same problem.

systemUI FC loop
flashed this rom yesterday. almost everything was fine till mid night. when i woke up phone was off. turned on the device and found systemUI FC loop. i am tired of this. going back to stock. is there any ROM out there without this any issue which ran at least 1 week. please let me know.
incoming call display problem
i have been using this rom since the begining and its the best available for moto g (xt1033). i have only faced one issue and that is ; upon an incoming call, the phone rings and vibrates as it should timely, but the display remains black for around 8-10 seconds and then the contact info pops up. i have tried multiple setting changes but the problem is still there. hope any body knows the answer to it.
sim not detected
it is unable to detect sim on my moto g dual (xt1033)

Make a backup of your current ROM. Try. And if something going bad, return with the backup. [emoji41]
I'm going to install this version on multirom.
I think 10.3 don't have good battery backup..if they include battery saver mode it will be great.
Incoming call not displayed
Installed and found this issue.
the erased everything and installed fresh just to see that the problem persists on a fresh install as well.
I like the ROM and have found a usable solution to keep it but would prefer to have it working as it should.
I read a lot that this is a common problem on Original Nexus 5 phones, so maybe it is ported together with the ROM.
When screen is on and incoming call is made the melody is playing, phone is vibrating (if set to do so) and in the notification bar is a notice of incoming call. if pulled down there is an option to answer or deny the call in the notification drawer.
When screen is off and incoming call is made after ca 1-2 seconds of melody playing dialer screen appears with number or contact name and option to answer or decline the call. As it normally should be.
After trying many setting changes the closest to usable solution i have come is to enable Heads Up.
If you want to try that you need to follow this route: Setings > Notification Drawer > Heads Up. I set it to ON and it shows incoming call in a pop up when the screen is on. when the screen is OFF the incoming call appears as normal.
my phone is moto g 16gb with dual sim.
---------- Post added at 09:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:44 AM ----------
And another issue that i have come across in a fresh install is that Android File transfer on my macbook does not detect my Moto G when Developer options and Android debuggin (in developer options) is set to off.
Even the phone displays a notification that it is connected as a media device and in usb connectin settings i can switch between media device and camera. When i selct camera mode my mac detects the phone and opens camera/gallery window. as soon i change that to media device it disconnects
With stock rom it connected every time i plugged it in.
Am i missing somethin or is there a bug or that is the way it should be in this ROM ??

flash this kernel, bro
http://corte.us/457636
!! but you will loose double-tap to wake (also known as D2W or DT2W) and swype to wake (S2W) features

The pocket mode problem persists. It detects fine when the phone is taken out of the pocket but when put back the screen remains as it is. Anyway this ROM is the beat for motog ,so I can work with the faulty pocket mode.
Dark theme like aosp
Hello,
I love dark themes. Any chance to add the dark theme in your build as aosp roms on this rom. I would not change this rom but I would like to have the option to change it to black theme, or do you know of any other alternative?
Thank you
I've recently sideloaded 5.0.1 and just found out this morning how annoying the volume controls are. There is literally no way to receive notifications without a vibration or text tone. I want to be able to keep my phone on silent and still receive notifications like I did in 4.4.4. Are there any ROMs or anything that will help me do this?
What was Google thinking really..

Its the same as pre-Lollipop, just a couple things renamed and a bunch of extra stuff added. Read the whole thing here: A Guide to Lollipop Notification Settings

You have to options. Quite a few toggle widget apps still let silent mode be enabled. Or flash cataclysm rom as this also has silent mode plus other good additions to stock rom
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk (the older 4.9.5 not that new 4.10 abomination they released for god knows why reason)
Cataclysm has a proper silent mode if you need it. Personally I think the standard system is fine, you just need to adjust.

No. Don't even try to flash it, you risk bricking your phone. Flash only ROMs built specifically for One S C2(S3)

Not really a problem, but just for curiosity...
Every time I make a phone call, a toast notification appears at the bottom of the screen, saying: "Conditional Forwarding Enabled". Then it disappears. I tried other roms, i never saw this message before. It doesn't give me any problem, but it's a bit annoying. I tried to look for the solution, but nothing... The only thing I know it's that it began to appear from the first call I make after flashing this ROM.
Is there a way to deactivate it? Or at least, does someone know what is it?

It should be in ALL AOSP based ROMs, it could not be on CM based ROMs since CM handles these notifications different. So if you used only CM based ROMs, yes you might not have seen this.
Now to the point... There are different information about a call that are displayed as a toast, for few seconds after call is initiated. For ex: if the other party is already engaged in a call you'll see "Cal waiting" toast...if you have another number that's diverted on your number and if someone is calling on the other number, you'll notice a "Forwarded call" toast, and so on. In your case, you have certain situations in which an incoming call might be diverted to another number. The most common situation is when you have your voice mailbox activated and the calls you receive are diverted to mailbox in case you're busy, or unavailable (out of signal) or you don;t answer after a certain time. You might want to check in Dialer Settings under Call Settings - Call forwarding and see if you have some of those activated. That toast you see, just reminds you that you have active diverts and while in a call, if another call come, it might be diverted.
I hope I've explained that well and you got what I was saying. There is no way to turn off that toast, CM has a different way of handling them, it's called "network event notification" and it's also in dialer setting. If that's active, these toast messages are displayed in the header of the in-call UI instead of a toast...that's a better implementation than the default AOSP one but we're not CM so we don't have that

You explained very well, thank you!! It's not a problem if is not possible to turn off that toast. Now i know what it is, that's good!!
I asked about that toast because during the first days of usage of this ROM I tried entering in every settings, just for learning, and when i saw that message i thought to have modified something, because with other ROM i haven't seen it. But it's not so!
Thank you for your reply!
