But man, I'm actually using 4.27 on my ST21a!
Obviously, since I flashed the 4.27 firmware, in Settings > About Phone it says I have an ST21i. But nothing changes. It's the same thing, so I confirm that 4.27 is also compatible with ST21a from america, and I'm from South America... so, you can see it works! :cyclops:

I use the GIMLO custom ROM for my Tipo Dual; mine was originally st21a2, but now reads as st21i2 because gimlo uses the international firmware. I have installed both st21a and st21i firmwares and they have always worked for me. I have not had any problems with either of them.
After I flashed a couple of things, I wanted to go back to stock (I messed up my original backup, so I didn't have my own stock setup). So I used the generic st21a2 firmware from the board (11.0.A.1.12). My wife and I both got the same phone; she hasn't touched hers, and her firmware is 11.0.A.6.5. After I loaded 11.0.A.1.12 (for st21a2), I used PC companion, figuring it would update me back to 11.0.A.6.5. Instead, it said my firmware was up to date. I don't know why Sony won't upgrade to 11.0.A.6.5 from 11.0.A.1.12. There is a rooted version of 11.0.A.6.8 floating around here on the boards, but I think it's the st21i2 version.
GIMLO works pretty well on my phone, though I my choice of launcher seems to take the LED notification light away (it doesn't ever light up for me).
Good luck!
Fred

Do you made some other tests? Still no data traffic in 850 mhz?

any model name change?
hi, that is good to hear - i have a C1604 but can only find C1605 ROMs.
can i check though, does your Settings -> About still say your model is C1604? I have found some forum posts elsewhere that the C1605 firmware changes the model number. Not a big thing but it would still bother me a little....

Yes, the model number will change, but that's not a big problem. If you really want to keep it the same, just change it in the build.prop (I take no responsibilities for anything that happens, but I have done it once to make my phone read Samsung I9500 - that's the Galaxy S4 octa-core version).

... I don't know how to do that, alas
(your caveat isn't really helping either )
I'd like to find a FTF for C1604 for the original ICS build - any chance anybody can point me out to one, nice and ready? I've actually gone through the process of building my own FTF with flashtool from the files downloaded by Sony Update Service, but (as I'm sure as you know) that only gets me access to the "latest" firmware, and not the "original market release/ship" firmware, which I'd like to be able to go back to...

(where's my phone? yeah, here it is) With a file manager (I use Root Browser), open /system/build.prop in a text editor.

Used stock .31 CE for a day. I found no difference between .21 and .31 with the exception of an additional contacts widget. Antutu still bugs out for me at the OGL test.. staying with a score of about 3300 on .31.

Portuguese has Vodafone branding with an extra 50mb of bloatware. CE is non branded and about 50mb smaller without the bloatware.

Yes, but i'm from italy.. how i can update??
Why Update?
- According tot he Sony Site the ROM has 50 MB Free Ram
- Stock Is laggy ( said on comments )
Just install AVD Rom and get a premium Honami feel or install Paranoid Android 3
I have heard that .33 FW is smoother than .31 so i want to try it too but im from india! No updates available here

First it is the best ROM on locked bootloader. Supercharged and crapless are two more motivations.
take a few days on it and you would not want to return to any of the ROMs.. Hell CM10 is laggy compared to this.
So my advice to you guys is go for AVD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2309415
Only tricky part is swapping kernels for CWM.rest is smooth. All the backups of Titanium worked.

Dude why waste your precious time on Stock when you can use AVD keeping your Warranty intact.
OR you can backup your DRM keys ( search TA Backup in forum ) and unlock Bootloader for testing custom kernels and thus huge number of ROMs.
How will a developer get the momentum if nobody is going to test their work.
Besides XJ is damn hard to brick I tried every method and mine didnt brick so bye bye Warranty
Only thing these DRM keys give are TrackID and NeoReader and some other unused feature. I mean NFC is not in XJ .
I went Pro stock to Anti stock in two days
11.2.A.0.33 Arabic FTF did not boot
I installed the mentioned FTF file (Arabic) and it does not boot at all. I used the latest Flashtool. The device still has Flash Mode and Fastboot mode working.

Hello again!
I flash the firmware 15.3.A.1.12 india 706MB (C2104) via flashtool. But wifi is buggy. Is anyone else having the same problem?
If not, what version are using? I'm sure you have done everything right. Just do not delete the kernel at installation time ...
Thanks again.
