Am I bricked ? - Asus Transformer TF700

Hey guys I'm not currently home and don't have my tablet on me I will be tonight. Last night my tablet I power it on and only come to a black lit up screen I reboot and the same thing I can't get into the bootloader just a black lit screen. Does this mean I'm bricked ? I haven't tried hooking it up to the pc yet.

It is just hard to tell with limited information. If the screen is not turning on, it could be either its bricked, the screen is bad, or it is just PMS'ing ATM and will work later. But if you are unable to access the boot loader at all later on when you have it, yes it is bricked more then likely, but like I said it could possibly be the screen.

Okay thanks for the info appreciate it. I'll be able to test it out in 30 minutes. Screen powers on but all black no display but I can see that the screen is light like illuminated. That was what I got earlier today. I'll update soon when I test again.

Still black lit up screen. When I took up the tablet to the computer it is detected. Also I think I heard the tablet make notification sounds. Any advice how I should proceed ? Does this mean the display is actually messed up ? I haven't dropped the tablet or anything.

Also when I browse the tablet on my computer zero items show up I last had cromi 4.6 installed. Wonder if reflash the recovery or something would help or adb commands going to do some searching.

Really sucks I've been at it for hours and really no luck. The tablet boots up there's no display besides the black lit screen. Usb debugging isn't turned on. When I reboot the device when I try to get it to to stay at fastboot the tablet just starts up because if I stay at the boot screen without pressing anything it just boots after 10 seconds and in recovery mode fastboot doesn't work. I think my only chance is getting a microsd and putting the fireware file on there and hoping it will update ? I really don't know if this a full brick or not. I can get the device to show on adb for a bit. Or if showhow it is just the display that is messed up..
Well update I don't know of this info helps nut before this device got messed up I never had the usb icon for fastboot in the bootloader options only 3 icons. Think I might just but the bullet and hope the store will do something with the in store warranty

If you were on the 4.2.1 boot loader, being at the screen with the 3 icons automatically activates fastboot, and it does NOT boot after 10 seconds, it only did that on the on 4.1.1 boot loaders and older. So you could try getting to fastboot? I am not sure.

[Q] B70 bricked, please help

Hey guys, I was using my B70 rooted Transformer on Revolver 3.9.5 with blades2 kernel this morning, just browsing net and checking market. Out of nowhere the screen goes black and dead. I tried holding power for varying amounts of time, tried holding volume up and down etc. and even went into apx mode on the pc before realising that sbk2 can't use nvflash. Is there any other way to unbrick my tablet. Also what would make it **** itself out of nowhere like that (I have oc'd to 1.232 but I thought that was fairly mild?). Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
Have you tried connecting the HDMI port to a monitor/TV? Perhaps it is the display that is gone.

Doesn't sound software issue to me. When you plug the tf into the computer, does the comp recognize the tf? This sounds like a hardware issue.

It just finds an unspecified apx device :-s and in nvflash it gets up to 'waiting for bootloader to initialize'. Sigh, its still under asus warranty, would I be able to send it back or will they know its rooted?
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
You wouldn't believe it, left it alone for a few hours, came back and held power for a while (10 seconds, and I swear I held it for longer earlier today!) and it came back on! Still concerned about the hardware reliability coz I only got one year warranty. Should I call Asus anyway and see what they say?

Unresponsive tablet screen

Hi
I returned home from holiday the other day to my TF101 and I can't turn it on. The keyboard charges no problem, but I'm not sure what the problem is with the screen. The power button is unresponsive, and I'm not sure if it charges when it's plugged in.
Any suggestions? Our shall I send it Asus for repair?
It is not rooted, and had the official ics update.

I am having the same issue just today. Tried hard reset and holding power down for 30+ secs. Also tried with the micro sd out.
Some advice would be great.
I'll try the hard reboot when I get in from work.

Ok,
So my tablet is definatley running. It's just that the screen won't turn on. I am able to pull it apart, is there anything I should look for or had the screen just given up the ghost.
Weird thing is the actual touch is working as I can hear it unlock to say the camera but just black screen. I have gone to a dark room to see if there is any back light but no go. It's as if it was turned off.
Bit over it.
I spoke with Asus UK support today, they said they have had a few dodgy screens before. Have arranged for then to repair it under manufacture warranty. They picking it up tomorrow.
I'll update you on the outcome

Try charging the battery, could be something kept your phone awake until a full drain and now it doesn't have enough juice to boot up.

1) Try a different charger and cord.
2) Take your battery and have it tested to make sure its good.
3) Wiggle the USB connection to see if there's any looseness. It should be solid.

Well I let it charge for a few hours. But the problem starts when i put in the battery it will boot to the second samsung logo and then a little white line flashes across the bottom and it shuts off and starts vibrating. Idk if i can get into download mode im on vacation and only have my tab and my phone.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
If you get to the second logo you should be able to get to recovery, see if you can get there and let it stand for a bit and if it wont crash.
Charging solved the issue at first and you managed to boot up or just got past the first samsung logo?
If after the second logo it restarts and does it all over again its definitely a stuck power button.

It's a really weird issue, if the line was in the middle I would say it's the crt off animation but you said it's at the bottom. If you can try getting into download mode and see if it hangs.
Any chance you can get a video of the issue and upload it?
Just in case try playing with you power key to make sure it's no the issue.

I just shut down my phone and held the power button, it gets to the second samsung logo, crt off animation and starts vibrating. So it's definitely a stuck power button, the rest is up to you, whether you play with it from the outside or take apart the device and try to clean it.
Edit: when you see this you should change your youtube title to: skyrocket stuck power button
So other people with this issue can find it.
Also vincom when you see this you should link this video in the proper location for an example to a sticky power key.
theres a couple of links in the info section from my first link in my sig which might have a solution for the op, and it does look like its definite sticky power button issue since the phone turns on by itself w/out touching the power button when reinserting the battery, and i added the video link

Can't get into hboot / recovery / fastboot

So, I thought I knew what I was doing, but apparently not.
I tried flashing XYLON.
Now, the phone gets stuck on the boot animation. I've been trying to get it to work for the last 12 hours. It either gets stuck on the boot animation, or on the "Android is updating" screen. I can't even get into the hboot to boot into recovery.
Can anyone recommend a course of action to bring my phone back to life?

I'm still on 1.09
Its s-off.
I haven't touched my hboot since i rooted my phone.
Hold down power until lights flash 7-10 times. Simulates a battery pull. Then push volume down and press and hold power button for 4-5 seconds, then release power while still holding volume down.. should go to bootloader. Sounds like your not timing it correctly

Well, I'm still trying that. I've done it the way you''ve mentioned it here as well. Trying it again now. I've never had problems getting into my hboot before. :S
Something just seems wrong.
Once I get back home, I'm gonna pull the phone apart and check if something's wrong with my volume button. The Vol. up stopped working, but vol down was working just fine....
Let it boot as far as it will go and see if adb will recognize it. If it does adb reboot bootloader

I've tried that.I kept it for an hour, let it go as far ahead as it would. ADB does not see it.
I agree, if you cant get Into bootloader its a timing issue. Try holding the power buttons until the capacitive buttons blink 7 times or so, when the screen goes black let go of power and press and hold only volume until the bootloader comes up. This way is almost impossible to miss.

Seem like I've been missing the timing all day. :/ I'm gonna check my hardware this evening... lets see what happens after that.
I have heard of a case where someone had to physically disconnect the battery before they could get into bootloader but that's a *****. Since you're s-off you could try RUUing.

RUU doesn't work. I can't get RUU to detect my phone. It doesn't boot up. It's stuck at the boot logo. And even if I leave it connected to ruu while i'm trying to reboot, or trying to get into hboot, it still doesn't detect my phone.
Well... You could let the battery drain and then charge it for about 10 mins then unplug from power and press and hold power and volume.

Well, I've already pulled my phone apart once to replace my broken screen. Which is why I'm suspecting it could be a hardware problem. Somehow. *sigh*
And I'm in. Finally.
I let the phone's battery drain completely. I pulled apart the phone, and pressed down on the volume + power pins/buttons directly. And I got into the boot loader.
I'm currently restoring the backup of the rooted stock rom I always keep on my phone storage.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and support.
I just saved myself a whole lot of money. ^_^

So my situation is similar but my htc inc s is brand new from ebay china seller ( I live in Greece), is s-on, never messed up with, never rooted all factory. It worked great for few days and after the first OTA update I cant get into hboot, adb doesn't see the phone, always the updating symbol on screen.Tried battery pull, volume down + power in all the possible timing and combinations but yet nothing! Also I tried battery pull, volume up + power it vibrates 3 times orange lid is on and black screen (on the forums is said that this is diagnostic menu). So I think maybe this phone is a refurb and not new since the answer from HTC global support (after sending my IMEI and S/N) is that this phone is for Indonesian market and that its warranty expired year ago! Can you help me in some way guys...
