Installation Instructions:
Note:This ROM uses JBX kernel(0.6).Those of you who were getting the black screen problem with kexec kernel will get the same bug here.
Note:Please backup your CID just to be safe. You may not have this error ever but it's always safe to have a backup of the CID.So that if you get a message invalid CID or soemthing just restore it and you'll be good to go.
To backup CID:
Reboot into Recovery
Tap on firmware flashing
Tap on backup CID.
Note:To be flashed via BMM only
BMM instructions:
See here if this is your first time multibooting with BMM.
Download and install BMM from google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...otmenu.manager
Our phone does not have a partition for internal storage.. so we use the data partition for it.. To do so, just open a root browser like root explorer and navigate to /etc/bmm/conf
Open "recovery.fstab" with a text editor
The last line will be something like this
/int vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p25
Just change 'vfat' to 'auto' and 'mmcblk1p25' to 'userdata' (its the same though..)
So that it looks like this
/int auto /dev/block/userdata
and of course save it and close it..
Done.. you are good to go.. Happy Multi Booting..
Just some tips
On your first reboot, tap the android, go to settings-->System_2-->Partition setup and tap on ACTIVATE. This formats cdrom partition to ext2.
Now go back 2 two steps, and select any other system(3-6). choose Partition setup, tap on system.img, tap on Create, select the size, create it. go back and do the same with data.img and cache.img.
Once thats done, go back and select recovery, select switch system. choose your system that you created the images for, the colour will change, install any custom rom.. Enjoy!!
NOTE: BMM stores the images in internal memory(/int/clockworkmod/virtual/system_(num)). Since we dont have emmc partition and are using the data partition for /int, doing a factory reset will wipe it out and you will lose all your other roms.. So be carefull..
NOTE 2: USE ONLY SYSTEMS 3 TO 6 FOR CUSTOM ROMS.. SUSTEM 2 IS CDROM PARTITION.. YOU ACTIVATE IT ONCE AND DONE.. DONT TOUCH IT AGAIN.. ITS ONLY 12MB..
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL BMM IF YOU USED A2 BOOTSTRAPPER BEFORE. THAT WILL MESS THINGS UP WITH YOUR LOGWRAPPER.BIN. THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL BOOT LOOP AFTER REBOOT. NOW IF FOR SOME REASON YOU DID NOT READ THIS, AND GET A MESSAGE ABOUT BMM ASKING YOU TO GET HELP, BEST THING FOR YOU TO DO IS RECHARGE YOUR BATTERY FULLY AND FXZ BACK. OR THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL HAVE TO USE MCGRUVYER METHOD OR ANOTHER A2 BATTERY. USER RAD7 RECENTLY HAD QUITE A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH HIS BATTERY DYING AFTER BMM MESSED WITH LOGWRAPPER. YOU HAVE BEEN INFORMED.
Make sure you have BMM recovery.
Reboot and hit the droid at the BMM splash screen
Optional:
Tap on Settings
Create a new System by creating system, data and cache partitons.Delete the previous partitions if you have to(NOTE: You can skip this but it's better to do it this way)

keyboard swipe is not working, maybe i will have to intall jb keyboard again. Test it to know if its me or is a bug

Ok I've made a small Fix Audio.zip it should enhance audio significantly and also fix the broken sound recorder(I bet no one new that it was broken)
Anyways flash in recovery. No wipes needed.
Also if you don't like the new audio you can revert back to your old settings and broken voice recorder by flashing the Fix Audio Revert.zip
See the attachment below

Glad to see this in the Android Dev thread where it will get more attention, I was lucky to stumble across it in General.
Nice improvement on stock, fast smooth and bugless! If you like stock you're missing out if you don't try this rom.
Just installed this baby and have not had much time to play with it but I can already tell that I am going to like this. Standard, stock, plain-jane Jelly Bean (which is already wonderful) but made faster, smoother...."more buttery" This is a very satisfying experience. A big thanks go out to the Dev and the OP.
I cant get this ROM flashed. I am rooted and have CWM. I downloaded ROM directly from Pete's site. I save the zip to the internal storage and flash thru CWM but I just get bootloop. I wiped dalvik and cache partition and still get bootloop. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
I been on the boot animation (glowing X) for like 7 mins already...
thanks

Unofficial AOKP - ICS Milestone 6 20 Feb 2013
After a days of work I finally was able to get AOKP ICS working with some tweaks
I have made some changes to the MIlestone 6 release
AOKP
- Romcontrol has been cleanup a bit I have removed the old performance control app in favour of the newer one found in JB
- Updated some of the icons from JB (device options, rom control, performance control and themes)
- Updated nova launcher, added in CM filemanager
Personal
- Added some stuff to the kernel ( frandom module, fake vsync, rgnd) more details here
- More stuff who knows just look at my github can't remember now
Bugs
- Should be the same as Eppy's 2ndboot ics
- If you find any I will try fix what I can just hit me up with a logcat...... Tutorial here
Installation -
Coming from a JB rom
- First you need to either convert to ext3 through the bootmenu--->Tools--->File system or wipe all from the stock recovery
- Once you have done that install the zip as normal and flash gapps if needed.....
Everyone else
- Wipe all (data, cache and dalvik cache)
- Install rom zip and gapps if needed
Reboot and enjoy ^_^
Download from here https://github.com/Kayant/Roms/tags
Download V2
Download as zip then unzip the download look through the folders and you will find a file named aokp_mb526_unofficial_20130220.zip
Congrats you found the rom :cyclops:..... Happy flashing
Mirror - http://www.uncledan.it/android-files/AOKP/
Thanks to UncleDan as usual
Credit and Thanks
Ryuinfern - for his init.d frandom script
Epsylon3 for his device tree which am using as a base and also for his work on some framework stuff and also for his work on the ics kernel
Nadlabak, Quarx and Blechdose for the kernel stuff I used
AOKP for AOKP
Without these Guys this will not be possible so a big THANK YOU to them again.....
Notes
- It's a hybrid build meaning use can use either 2ndinit mode = stock kernel or 2ndboot mode = custom kernel
This all thanks to Epsylon3
You won't get the options like KSM etc as AOKP's settings and performance control don't include it but am looking at a way of porting it ..... look out in the future for an update
- Default boot is 2ndinit and can be changed to 2ndboot which will allow BL7 green users to use the their camera again if am not mistaken

More like tripling them
Wow! run´s very smooth and fast! i love all the "aokp-options"
Some more details... There's no "Go To Sleep" toggle or shortcut of any kind and the "Torch" toggle needs to start the whole camera module to make the LED shine :/
A little things i notice.
_ process rom control is consuming more battery that it should be. I meant, does this process keep in memory doing who knows? May be i ignore that must b be this way.
_ aokp wallpapers don't keep centered. I think the app could be maded for other resolution.
_ navigation bar isn't working.
And one cool thing, is possible to use an image for background of notification area!

Hey Kayant,
Great work with the JB port. Lots of things working, but i need to say a few things
1: When using a custom theme, you have to apply system theme before rebooting. If you
boot while using a custom theme, you will have no statusbar until you apply "System" theme
and reboot.
2: Bootanimation is laggy and temporarily freezes after every cycle.
3: Camera takes a while to load. Will have a black screen or a frozen picture at first, then
resolves after a few seconds.
4: Obviously, navigation bar doesn't work.
Edit: Oh and I forgot this.
5: Screenshot doesn't work; there is no option to turn it on, and it is absent from the power menu.

screenshots works for me (power button + volume down button together )
i even posted some , link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30147301&postcount=75
power button + vol. down for screenshot is universal for ICS and JB ROMs.
Stock clock doesn't work and neither does the installed baseband switcher. It caused a boot loop when switching to T-Mobile.
I installed V.4 switcher and it worked fine but after about a day the 3g disconnects. When I reboot to reconnect it boot loops again till I clear cache and dalvic.
Sent from my Xoom using xda premium
Edit: I disabled the boot animation and re-tried the default baseband switcher and no boot loop and so far it is keeping the connection.

oh ok I'll try that for screenshot
but no one has solved the theme problem?
But there is one thing; if you apply custom theme and reboot recovery to wipe cache + dalvik, then the status bar stays until
next reboot. If you don't wipe those two things, then the problem is still there

Hm. Well the bootanimation can be very laggy, might not be bootloop

Have no idea why it bootloops, but wouldn't it be easier to toggle "Airplane Mode" for connection restoring? :cyclops:
And what do you mean by "stock clock doesn't work", which one? I've tried both analog clock widgets and ended up using the digital one, they were all fine, and so was the clock in the status bar..!
Been trying to find some news on the JP AOKP, but no luck... Did find one more interesting ROM, though, some people comment it as better than AOKP - BAMF Paradigm

I flashed this earlier, and I only have an issue so far:
Sliding the keyboard out doesn't seem to rotate the screen, and if you touch in an input box with the physical KB out, the on-screen keyboard comes out; however the physical KB works just fine.
Great work

Thanks for the feedback, I tested HW keypad on messaging app, as I do text a lot...but now I see what you mean when I tested on browser.
I'll fix it within 48hrs.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
I fixed the screen rotation when hw keyboard is slided out but couldn't fix on-screen keyboard showing while using physical keypad, since our stupid IT disabled use of command prompt on my work machine, so i'm very short handed at the moment. But on-screen keyboard can be dismissed when using HW keyboard by pressing Back button on HW keypad. Still persists for some apps.
I have a problem, when I open the hw keyboard the kb light turn off, when I close the kb turn on..
How can I fix that?
Sorry for my English

I am planning on doing that, since this was a first release, I didn't want to overpopulate posts with minor fixes.
Kayant is about to release new version for Defy+ and I will be updating my port and include the changelog. Hopefully tezet will release a new version by the time I do that, otherwise I will have to redo the whole process

This is not by any means a complete ROM, More SGS3 stuff will be added afterwards. When it is......this port will be updated as well.
I was thinking, and thinking, and then, the thought struck me: The smoothness of Touchwiz, without Touchwiz icons etc.

Reboot and set up your phone
Enjoy!
Thanks To:
AOKP Team for base (Milestone 6 and AOKP JB)

All of the devs for making the doubleshot what it is today
TIPS:
In 2.1 and up, for the full TouchWiz Experience, go to themes in the settings, apply TouchWiz Theme and reboot
Issues:
At the moment, the only issues found are the soft keyboard & home key not functioning properly. That should be resolved very quickly though with appropriate patches posted soon.
Very Special Thanks:
A BIG shout out and a Heartfelt Thank You to InfinityFTW for allowing Team S.W.a.R.M to port this to our DoubleShot. Without his original work & unselfish attitude, this would not be available to us. Team S.W.a.R.M. would appreciate it if you would drop by His Original Sensation Thread and give the man a big Thank You!
This Download Has Been Updated to Include the KB Lights Fix I Promised. Just Format System Under "Mounts & Storage" & Semi-Dirty Flash over the top of Your Nandroid OR Just Do a Fresh Install.

The lights & physical KB should be the same edits I think Matt but it's the HomeKey that's gone wonky on us this time.

dont know about home key but does long pressing home open the app-switcher? also in settings (maybe rom control) there should be an option labeled hardware buttons and you should be able to set a custom action for your home key. i will get the modified framework up that fixes the soft keyboard shortly!
Kb fix uploaded
The flash didn't work for me Matt but I'm going to try a direct install in a bit. As for the homekey, I'm getting no response at all from it. We'll get it though.....
I'm afraid replacing the file & reflashing didn't do it either Matt. straaaaange.......

may have a fix for home key not working. when you flashed rom did you flash gapps at the same time? here is my suggestion: flash rom (after correctly wiping), reboot, reboot BACK to recovery, flash gapps, reboot. maybe it will fix your button problem
Great Rom, very fast.
But I think the battery consumption is big then at other ROMS.
What do U think about this?

When I was in the store, before I called my lady to see if she wanted it, I checked xda to see if there was active development
Once I learn more about this device, I may go ahead and build for it's bigger brother (HD+) as well. Maybe not Carbon, this was sort of a spontaneous decision.

I work 6 days a week, but any free time I can spend in front of the computer will be spent cleaning this up and working on HD+ support.
Perhaps I'll be able to start a build before work but don't get your hopes up
Started a build for ovation, I get home around midnight EST it should be successful (crossing fingers) and done by then hopefully, my laptop is on the verge of combustion lol. Sprint cell service is very unreliable here so it may or may not get uploaded until the morning
It won't be a new thread, just a combined thread.
Build almost finished before I had to leave, one small insignificant error while it was trying to make the otapackage... It'll be up by the morning.

They do quality work, I am very impressed by how smooth it is running as well :good:
This is great! Carbon is my favorite rom, as I also have it on my N7. I have an HD+ and I was able to port Carbon a couple of weeks ago. However, I ran into an issue with Settings/Storage force closing and MTP not being recognized by my PC for file transfer.
I've been working on these issues for the last week and finally got it working by decompiling framework-res and editing storage_list.xml. This was enough to get everything working great but it also resulted in a weird graphical glitch in Settings/Storage. Something else was missing and as yet, I couldn't figure it out.
When I saw your release for the HD, I figured your framework would hopefully be the last piece of the puzzle to clear up the glitch and it was. So, I just now replaced my framework folder with the one from your HD rom and all is good.
As expected, the rom is running great and I look forward to your HD+ release.
Thanks,
Mike T
