[Q] Sony Xperia L - General Questions and Answers

Can someone who owns a Sony Xperia L confirm whether the phone is capable of playing Full HD 1080p videos? Also, how good are the viewing angles? And... how long does the phone take to charge the battery from 15%-100%(a full charge)? Other than that... how is the web browsing exeprience on this phone?

[Q] xperia x10 battery

I have a sony ericsson xperia x10 and also a sony ericsson xperia x1
now is my question can I use the battery of the x1 for the x10 without any problems?
sorry for my bad english
So long as the voltage is the same, the battery fits, and the positive and negative ends match up the battery will not fry your device... The owners manual will advise against this, and as will I because it is not generally a good idea to use a battery that is specifically for one device on a device it is not intended for.
I will not be held responsible for the improper use of a device and its components.

is anybody know the exact video playback time on xperia z1?

hi,i am currently using Sony xperia s.i mostly use my smartphone for watching movies.actually i am totally impressed with my xperia s.but i would like to upgrade my phone to xperia z1. what is the maximum video play back time i will get for this phone.i saw gsmarena test it shows 6.12 hours. that's really bad actually,i think brightness is the problem on xperia z1.anybody can give exact battery life for xperia z1.i would be love to hear that,i am using xperia s for watching movie i set brightness at 7 on mxplayer i got 5 hours of continuous video playback time for my xperia s.so if xperia z1 can get 7 hrs then i should buy it.

Xperia Z3 CAMERA VIEWFINDER LAG

Hello everyone
Recently I had the Sony Xperia z2, but a few days ago I bought a sony xperia z3. When I start the camera it works a lot worse than the Z2, lags, and stutters.
I went to the store nearby and looked at another xperia z3 and she's doing the same in the camera. I thought it was normal, but when I saw the reviews z3 on you tube and how much fluency camera works, then I'm wondering if this is really normal. its software or hardware issue
My feeling is like to work with 25 fps
Camera response much better on my old xperia z1, and xperia z2.
Again, I put the latest firmware via flashtool, but it did not help.
Anyone else having this same problem?
Xperia Z3 D6603
FIRMWARE: GLOBAL GENERIC ( 23.0.A.2.93 )
Yes, same problems here (I have both Z3 and Z3c)
The camera is not nearly as smooth/lag free as Z1/Z2.
A bit annoying...
Same here.
The camera is shocking, and is in need of a massive update
the same with me in z3 6633 dual sim and hatting whin wifi working
Well...
Try to disable image stabilizer .
it makes the video look like that...
turn it off, and keep updating :good:
Does the Playback lag?
How the Video looks like, while recording is not very important!
The RESULTS are the MOST IMPORTANT!

The lag is not caused by the stabilizer. Tried in automatic and manual mode.

Video Playback is a little smoother than recording, but still not good as on previous Z models.
This is extremely frustrating
Check the Conditions of your Phone... Are you the ONLY one with the Problem?

Welll.....
On the GSMArena-Video test, the new ƶ3 is quite good! And in the Store, the Ƶ3 also NEVER lagged!
How does the Video play at your Computer? (If the Processing Power is Enough for 4k!)
If your Computer's Processing-Power is not enough for 4k, then try a lower Playback-Speed.
If it doesn't lag, then be satisfied! Only the Output-File is Important!
Even if i record 16K with a Camcorder with QVGA-Screen... the Screen only must be good enough to check, if your recording is good enough. And sometimes a swiveling(tiltable)-display is useful. Like on the LUMIX FƵ1000!
Does the Playback on another 4k-Capable device lag? Maybe there's another app, that eats processing power of your Phone. Is a battery-saving Program enabled? How good is your charger?
Have you ever been underwater wih your fone?
Your Phone has IP68-Protection, so there's a low chance for water to enter.
But if water entered, then it maybe touched One or two of those 4 Snapdragon-Processors then maybe one or two cores of the Quad-Core failed! :crying:
Check all Indicators. If it's still white (or Factory-Color), then that won't be the problem anyway!

it IS froustrating! You're completely right! You've got a super BRAVIA-Cinema screen on your phone that can't display your recorded video Properly!
But...
i already asked fknpwed fore some things in my last post!
If he answers, I'll get more information.
I still don't know (while i'm writing this right now), how the video plays at another 4k-Capable Device! (Like a Strong High-End Computer or so...)
If it plays very well there, then don't worry - the FULL Information is in the Video Files and can also be play(e)d, if the problem gets solved!
Can You show us how badly does the camera lag? Since we have a screen recording feature in Z3, it's not a problem. I don't find a camera lag to be the problem, it also depends on the amount of light and quality we want to see on the screen. Here is mine with different EV settings. Sure it lags a little when shifting from dark to bright scene, but I thinks that's pretty normal behavior.
I am talking about the viewfinder laggyness.
If i start the camera app, and move the phone for ex. up and down, i got alot of frame drops and everything lags. (Doesnt matter which settings) But the output runs quiet smooth on my device, but not good as on Z2. I will upload a sample Video later.
Because the viewfinder on z1 and z2 used to run at 60fps, and that's not happening now.
But why?
z1 lagged too in its earlier firmware version...it could be a similar software problem...
z1 now is really smooth..and maybe z3 is going to be the same in the next updates
So here is my sample video

I can confirm that as well. I owned the whole Xperia Z series. I hope Sony could fix that. It's pretty annoying
Didn't the Thread-Title Change?
I'm pretty sure that the Title of this thread changed!

Do you call THIS ALREADY a lag?
Welll..... the Z2 was more smooth!
Maybe it's just for preventing overheating!
I suggest it's about 16 fps but t's JUST THE PREVIEW!
Are the Photos good?
Try to do the same at a colder temperature... does it run more smooth?
I suggest, the Xperia Ƶ2's preview runs with 60 fps - on a FullHD Screen - so the camera's temperature will go upwards, even at the preview!
That would be embarressing for Sony...
That was daylight, so it's probably nothing got to do with the shoutter speed!

Does it also lag in SAFE MODE? (Hold the Shutdown-Entry in the STBY-Menu) - without running any apps in the background...
...and without Screen-Recorder? (Motion-Screenshot)
If it lags anyway under this conditions, then it hasn't got anything to do with the processing power.

[Q] Miracast and Throw Difficulties on New Bravia TV

Hey!
So I have a Sony Bravia XBR-55X800B - which is a new 4K Sony Bravia, which has built in Screen Mirroring support.
My Z3 in on 4.4.4 (TMO), and I cannot for the life of me gain a successful connection to my TV.
Regardless of what menu I am in on my Z3 (Screen Mirroring, Walkman, Notifications Bar), it will see my TV, I select it, it gains a connection, then it disconnects immediately.
I also have a Roku 3, and this works just fine and I am able to mirror to it just fine, but I would really like to take advantage of the native options.
Does anyone have any advice? I'm very surprised I have both of Sony's current offerings, and they do not even work together.
Thanks.
Try updating your TV firmware, because Miracasting from the Z3 works fine to my Roku Stick HDMI.

That's the thing, my firmware on my TV is up to date, and Miracast works just fine on my Roku 3 input...but I really should not have to switch to the Roku every time I want to Mircast something, it should just work.
Yeah, sorry to say but its your TV.

Agree. I restored the TV to factory, made sure the software is up to date, and it continues to have the same behavior on both my Moto X on 5.1, and my Z3 on 4.4.4.
Sucks :/
