[Q] Touchscreen only dead after ICS booting

post updated with all information
Hello,
new to the forums, so sorry if posting anywhere wrong.
Was coming from Insertcoin 2.3.5 / 3.3.5, everything worked fine.
Now i wanted to update to ICS. Did SuperCID ... worked fine. Upgraded Firmware and installed latest Insertcoin 4.4.6. everything seemd smooth until i rebooted. No chance to put in the PIN on bootscreen, touchscreen is not working at all. Before the update it worked perfect. No issues so far.
Details from Bootloader Screen:
Pyramid PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.27.0000
RADIO-11.21.3504.13_2
OpenADSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0104

ClockworkMod Recovery installed v5.0.0.8
Just found out, that all keys are working in the bootloader menu when doing key test. Still no funtion on PIN screen.
Also installed Eleganzia with 4ex .... touchscreen working in 4 ex, not on PIN screen.
All ideas for bringing touchscreen back highly appreciated.
Thx in advance
Stefan
Hi m8,
First i will offer you to flash 4ext touch recovry.. Then u can check if your touch screen problem is rom issue or harware issue.
Second, i and alot members in this forum using IC rom without any problems..
Thx,
as i wrote in an edit hardware seems to be working. Tried the key test in bootloader menu and the all touch buttons are working.
will try the mentioned softare, just need to find out how to install it.
Probably a stupid question ... but isn´t that an app ? if yes i can´t install to my phone because my phone isnt working. am i mistaken ?

You can also flash through ADB. Or you can try flashing a different rom and see if touchscreen works again
OK, as far as i understand the app is for checking if touchscreen hardware is working. Then there is no need to install for this purpose, because in key test touch is working.
I try other ROM, Elegancia.
Lets see
SO, Installed Eleganzia together with 4ext ...
working touchscreen in 4ext, still not working on Pin screen.
Any ideas ?
Isn´t this issue interesting for any developer ? Touchscreen not working after boot, but fully functional in 4ext. Anybody with a solution ?

Link to Insert Coin rom you can find in "http://insertcoin-roms.org/"
Pattern lock is build in the ROM ; instead using the PIN lock, chose "pattern lock"

[GUIDE] How to fix the «Wifi Error»

Greetings Everyone !
Flashing a ROM can bring you problems. One of these's problems is the «Wifi Error» or the «Data Error» where you can't enable wifi or access to Data because it's written Error or you don't have mobile data.
Major Problem 1 -> S-ON ROM flash without 4ext SmartFlash Enabled
People who are flashing ROM while being S-ON needs to enabled SmartFlash [GUIDE] Flashing roms with S-ON and 1.27+ HBOOT
You only need to do this ONCE, once you have flashed your first custom ROM and enabled permanent smartflash, you don't need to this any more!
Major Problem 2 ->RIL/Radio Match
RIL/Radio Match is not required if you want internet to work. When you have the «Wifi Error» the problem can be from an RIL/Radio bad match. You need to have the good RIL/Radiofor you. Here's a list of RIL/Radio A better match = Better result (wifi speed, etc.) You can use this app, GETRIL to find if your RIL/Radio match.
Major Problem 3 ->Kernel
T-Macgnolia said:
Let me explain the boot.img a little so you know why it is so important. The boot.img does just watt te name implies, it is what boots the Android ROM on your device. Now let me explain this a little further, the Android OS runs on top of eat is called a Lenox kernel. This means that your bootloader boots the Lenox kernel and the hardware of the device. The Lenox kernel then boots the Android OS. The kernel is also te connection between the hardware and the Android OS. So you see if the kernel is not compatible with the system that is on te system partition you will have troubles like WiFi not working or other I hardware reliant functions. So when you flash a new ROM and you are HTC Dev unlocked you will have to flash the boot.img for te ROM are you will more than likely have troubles.

How to Flash boot.img:
1. First flash/install the rom via recovery
2. Get the boot.img and flash it via fastboot
ganeshp said:
As long as you stay in HTC unlocked bootloader the above steps are necessary to flash the rom completely to prevent bootloops and wifi errors

Other Issues:
Try this App :WiFix
Then go to recovery and wipe cache\dalvic cache\cache+dalvic,Wifi should be Fixed. If it doesn't find any network, delete the file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.

If you are getting very poor or no WiFi signal, you might take the back case off, and check the little golden pins above the camera. They may have gotten bent.
realsis said:
The antennas are the copper colored prongs on the inside of the phone case, and the inside of the phone. You can google it to get a better picture . Some say to CAREFULLY and SLIGHTLY lift the antennas to help with better reception but they are very fragile and the last thing you want to do is break them off so if you decide to do this, just do it slightly and very softly. You don't want to move them too much. I tired this myself to see if it would help with better reception, but honestly didn't see much difference. But it's worth a try. Just be very careful. I do hope you get your Wi-Fi problem solved. What you can do is take the device to a local cell phone repair shop. Perhaps they can fix the problem. And usually the local shops are quite reasonable in price. This might be a better option for you. This way the shop can trouble shoot and fix the problem with your Wi-Fi. It's another option.. hope this is helpful. Best of luck.

After i installed viper sometimes wifi used to work and sometimes not and now it doesn't work with the cm10 either. I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue cause when i got my phone wifi was working but suddenly after few days it stopped.

If you can boot into bootloader, flash the proper signed firmware from htc.
Otherwise, more likely is that you have HARD BRICKED your phone. Your only hope then is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522351

To use the HTC unbricking project, you need your sensation to be in qhsusb_dload state when you connect it with your pc.
You've got nothing to lose trying though. Also, flashing corrupted files for firmware/radio is probably the top way to brick your device. I'm sorry about your phone but ALWAYS check md5 sum before flashing anything (bootloader/recovery)

Firmware version for Moonshine

Hi all, first I want to thank to this community that helped me to solve a lot of problems just reading the posts
I have a little problem, I've an HTC One S (S4), already unlocked and rooted, I would like to install the maximusHD ROM so I'm following the procedure of SuperCID and S-OFF. I tried the standard SuperCID procedure with hex editor but cid didn't change after the procedure so I understood the nand it's locked.
I want to follow the moonshine procedure but now I have android 4.1.2 with TrickDroid 10.3.2 and I don't know if it's possible with this firmware or not or if I need to upgrade to another before..
If someone knows, please let me know, thank you guys!

In first, thanks for the quick answer,
in second, yes, my Hboot is 2.15 and my radio is 1.15 and I know that my phone is write protected, but it has also the T-MOB101 CID that is supported (as I can see on moonshine documentation).
Now, on moonshine download folder it's wrote for T-MOB only " ROM Version 3.14.531.11" , what it refers to this number? where can I check it? I read also that's possible some kind of down/upgrade to ROMs supported by moonshine, but, before I move, I really like to know from you if it's possible and what to do.
Thank you again

1) I'm still searching for something similar but it seems no one had the same "problem" (that is not a problem, is a lack of information)
2)Yes, I know the base things, I already rooted some phones so something I know the one that I didn't know is the reference to that number (" ROM Version 3.14.531.11"), but now you said that it's the ROM built number so I could find a rom with the same one.
Yes the phone is still rooted and recovery installed.
I found something, could I use this ROM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250573
Thank You!

That ROM is the T-Mobile official release from June. The link you posted to McKinney's ROM is based on the T-Mo release. I used Face Palm when I s-off'ed, but if it were me, I would RUU back to the official release, and then use Moonshine instructions from there.

Thanks for your answer
I took that ROM only because it's adviced in this thread for the 'moonshining' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42818435&postcount=74 , you think that the RUU would be better than this? if yes, can you show me where I could find it? and is it needed a particular process to install the RUU?
Thank You!

Yes ... use the T-Mobile official release. This has been discussed before, and Tivofool put together a very nice tutorial. Here you go ...

CID T-MOB101 means that your phone is from TMobile Germany and not Tmobile USA.
So you need from moonshine the file: HTC One S TMO_DE (3.16.111.10).

Yes my phone comes from Germany so it's possible that's TMobile germany, but are you sure of this? Because it's automatic to think that CID T-MOB101 needs the T-MOB version, but if you're sure, I'll trust you
So, now, do I need a ROM version with this new number (3.16.111.10) before moonshining?
Thank You!

Yes, you need this ROM.(Latest for your CID)
My phone was with this CID and ROM.
I was me that asked from moonshine author the support of this CID-ROM and sent them the proper OTA files.

The most easy way is to restore a TWRP backup with this ROM.
I have upload here a TWRP backup from my phone. (Boot ans System only - no Data partition)
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B17QCerxI07CQXl4eS12UEFWclk&usp=sharing
You must : - Restore system
- Flash boot.img
- Wipe Data partition
Try it.

You have a custom ROM to your phone.
I uploaded for you a backup of the last OFFICIAL ROM for your phone, to help you make it s-off with moonshine method.
And you ask me if it there is no incompatibility?
I can't help. End of conversation. Sorry

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear, I would to ask you if the backup you uploaded is suitable for my phone because it comes from yours (if I understood) , nothing else the question was only for possible incompatibility because it comes from another phone but if you say no, I trust you .and firstly I and thank you for the backup you provided me.
sorry taxtax but I'm not able to restore your backup, I put your files in a folder in the directory clockworkmod>backups, when I try from recovery, advanced restore> -restore system, it says Md5 sum mismatch..
