[Q] custom ROM working with Safestrap - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Could anyone help me shortlist the custom ROMS for our Razr HD (possibly even split in XT925 / XT926) which can be used with Safestrap?
Most I see are now with unloacked bootloader, but....
For the moment I still have my locked bootloader & just curious on seeing other ROMs without unlocking.
thanks for the help,
cheers!

You can try InfliktedHD and Nexesque. Both for XT926, but working decently on XT925. They're both deodexed and zipaligned. They share the same stock kernel, but still a nice deal. Give them a try.

Thanks, will do so!

Newly Rooted

Hello All,
I just rooted my HTC One X (on ATT 1.85 software version). I have still not unlocked bootloader. I am looking for some good stable Sense based ROM since my wife is going to use the phone. I am also looking to have OTG and MHL support on the ROM. Can anyone suggest a ROM for this? I looked around and found that ElemantalX V3.0 has OTG support. Can anyone suggest me a ROM?
Additionally, do I need to unlock bootloader to flash a new ROM? What kind of precaution I should take while flashing? I am doing it on SGS2, so I know bsasics but not familier with the process.
Thanks,
Hey there! If you're looking for a close to stock experience I suggest clean Rom...and yes you need to unlock bootllader..with HTC its either bl unlock or s-off and we don't have s-off yet
You're either already unlocked and don't know it, or you're not really rooted. You can't root without unlocking first.
Thanks Guys,
I will check for unlock (may be I don't know and am unlocked). I used 1.85 one click unlock, but didn't use HTCDev.
I will also checkout CleanROM.
By the way are there any Jellybean roms? I wanted to have ability of transferring photos using NFC.
Thanks again.

With 1.85 and the one click you are not bootloader unlocked. You still have to go through HTC Dev. As for ROMs, if you are trying to stay close to stock then I would go with CleanROM also.

Yeah there are plenty of JB ROMs in the original android development section. But since you want sense ROMs I would suggest looking in the android development section, the top 2 ROMs there seem to be CleanROM and ViperXL. There is also a JB sense ROM but it is very unstable.

[Q] Which, if any, ROMs can be flashed on the Razr HD using Safestrap?

Looking through the ROMs in the development forum, it really seems like they all require an unlocked bootloader and a different recovery than Safestrap (CWM I've seen the most).
However, I'd prefer not to have to install over the stock ROM at first, and also to keep the bootloader locked if possible since unlocking it is an irreversible process (as far as I know -- any corrections on that are welcome).
So my question is -- does anyone know of some good ROMs for the Razr HD that can be installed using the Safestrap ROM slots? Thanks
I was in your same boat a few weeks ago and found out that the safestrap ROMs aren't being developed actively anymore. I took the plunge with the Razr HD utility from the original development sub section and between titanium backup and having a stock nandroid backup with data I haven't felt unsafe at all!

[Q] What do people with locked bootloaders do these days?

Hey guys, I have an Atrix HD with an unlocked bootloader but Im trying to help out my friend who has a RAZR HD...I hadnt realized that Moto released an OTA that patched the bootloader exploit. It seems to me that new RAZR HD users are back to Safestrap, but are there any good rom built for safestrap? I was at least able to get him rooted with the newer version of Motochopper.
So what are all the people with locked bootloaders doing nowadays?

Check this thread out:

You can try Nexesque and Batakang. Probably some others, as long as they don't flash a non-stock kernel. Your friend's options are a bit limited, but it's definitely better than nothing.

you need to have an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery.
if you did not already unlock the bootloader, check your system version, if it says 9.18.79 or 9.20.1 your out of luck for unlocking which means you cant flash most of the roms found here.

[Q] Install Moto Razr M (XT907) rom on XT905

I recently rooted my Motorola Razr M XT905 phone. I have not yet unlocked the bootloader as I have not had a reason yet. I cannot seem to find ANY roms any where for my phone (Aussie version). All the roms are for the US variant XT907. I was wondering if anyone knew of any site that I could get roms for my phone. OR if anyone has install a xt907 rom on the xt905 and had no problems.
Thanks!
