Hi all,
I'm running the latest CM10 rom on my Infuse, and want to enable support for a couple of Indian languages.
The necessary fonts are installed, and rendering is not an issue at all. The issue I have is that I can select only Hindi as the second input language (Languge & Input settings -> Android keyboard). How do I add another input lanugage?
Asking as Jelly bean by default supports more Indian languages.
Thanks very much.

I read a lot of posts here abut installing Hebrew (MENUs) in android Chinese devices... But this is not my question
I just want to know - if the direction of right to left (rtl) is solved in android 4 version.
I want to buy Chinese device - leave the menu in English - and just want to type and read Hebrew (sms, surfing etc.) - (buy downloading hebrew keybord app).
thank you alot - this will help me.

IMHO, for writing hebrew and reading it, I think is not related to the Android OS version.
Also, I think maybe the problem is that you can not change the rtl setting in chinese devices.
You could try to get a multilanguage rom for your device and check if hebrew is included.
But that was just my opinion.
Have a nice day!

Hii
Hebrew is not included in the languages menu.
But I read a lot about that android 4.0.3 support RTL - and don't matter if it's Chinese or not.
Hi again.
I have tested with my phone, SGS+ with "paranoidandroid" rom (ICS) and changed the system language to hebrew (i think it was) and I can write from right to left using the stock android keyboard.
I meant chinese phones are less supported and you will have a hard time searching a compatible rom or even rooting it.
So, question answered?

Hi,
Installed the Slimbean ROM on my infuse as I wanted a light ROM. Works almost perfectly - all I need to get working on it is support for Indian languages.
Do I need to install specific font files? What about getting keyboard support for indic languages?
Sorry for the newbie question, and any help is much appreciated.

If you want to change system language you have to compile it yourself with big language pack or just your langauge, it's open source.
If you want fonts there is an addon pack available on the homepage or within updateme app.
Here is the link to the official google signed android stock keyboard 4.2, it supports swipe as you might know.

I know it is not new, but some guys did not know how to get it.
Just install as normal apk, select it in settings. It supports multi-language.
thnk you sir, i've looking for thiz app..
As all XE users know, the C1504 runs on JB 4.1.1
I read that Google introduced Offline Voice Recognition for Jellybean (and ICS too I guess) with an update to Google Search.
But, unfortunately, I cannot find any option like "Download Offline Speech Recognition" in - Settings > Language and Input > Voice Search :crying:
Is it not compatible with 4.1.1 ? Or am I doing something wrong? [I already tried setting the language to English(US) ]
Other users please report!
Finally someone asking for this.
Hello everyone!
I installed the latest update for my SCH-i535. However, since I made the upgrade, is totally missing my tongue! I've tried using software such as Language Enabler, but sensation success.
Is there a way to add language "in this case Italian" or other?
Thanks in advance!

I've had the exact same problem. It seems like the language just isn't built into the OS. I can set the locale to Russian on my phone and 3rd party apps, if they support Russian, will be in the language however the OS never is.
