Dude, see the thing in RED, you have made it NEVER, hence it disconnects the wifi when screen is OF. You need to make it ALWAYS to prevent it from disconnecting.

Sorry tried a couple of different methods this does works. mods please delete
I tried doing this and the setting doesn't seem to work on my Captivate. When I select "GSM Only," the setting stays put after I hit "home," but the display doesn't change from 3G. Do I need to kill the data connection or go into and out of flight mode for it to change?

have read that if it doesnt stick then you may need to hit refresh and then update on the *#*#4636#*#* screen. be cautions with this though as i have also read that doing this disables texting on some phones though it worked fine for mine, also go back to the screen and make sure your selection stuck. and dont hit the back button any where on that screen because it causes you to revert to what ever you previously had selected.

Backup your phone and perform a full factory reset. That would hopefully spice your current difficulties.

definately software related as the physical button works - as you said it wakes the phone. as posted above, a factory reset should fix that

Known bug.
Go to settings->security and tick "use secure credentials".
It probably won't stick after a reboot, you'll have to re-do it then. Happened to me after I logged into a enterprise WiFi network with secure credentials. Only went away after a full wipe.
Never logged into THAT network again.
Cheers

Hello. I have some kind of a big problem with all CM ROMs. I start the Wi-fi>Connect, I remain with my wi-fi opened, and if the screen locks, and stays a period like this, then my phone will be blocked, and I will need to remove the battery and plug it in again, to start the phone. Any good advice please? I mention I tried this with and without OC, and is still the same problem and I need my wifi on all the time! Thank you anticipated!
Blocked??
In settins>wireless networks>wifi, press menu, and select advanced, there check if sleep policy is ticked under "never"...

Ty Very much, it was "Never when plugged in" checked, I think I was supposed to check Never, so I did. If It's resolved I'll post here.
Ty
Thank you very much man, I tested it, and it seems I don't have any problems so far. I realy forgot about the advanced tab I wish you well!
You're welcome
