Title says it all, in this tutorial, I will be explaining to you S II Plus users (Galaxy Grand users can benefit from this as well) how to deodex your phone without the use of adb shell (well not really, because xUltimate uses adb shell, but all you'll do is press some buttons, the tool will do the rest for you, including run adb commands). So let's begin.
Download xUltimate 2.4 from here.
Extract the zip to any location you like.
Get your phone and go to Settings > Developer Options, enable developer options, then enable USB Debugging.
Connect your phone to your PC/Laptop and open up Main.exe from the xUltimate folder you've extracted in step 2.
If asked to update choose 'n' for no. If all is well and the connection is correct and drivers are installed and the lepricon reached the end of the rainbow, you will see a menu.
Type down 1 and wait for the process to finish, this process is pulling /system/app from your phone into your PC, when it all finishes, press enter, and go to step 7.
Type down 2 and wait for the process to finish, this process is pulling /system/framework from your phone into your PC, when it all finishes, press enter, and go to step 8.
Go to this guide and follow section A only to set up kitchen.
Go to the kitchen folder and make a new folder called "WORKING_DEODEX" and make a new folder in that folder called "system".
Copy origi_app and origi_frame from the xUltimate folder to the system folder you created in step 10, and rename them to app and framework respectively.
Load cygwin as described in the "custom ROM guide" and press 0 to go to advanced options, and then 11 to deodex, and then press b to deodex both folders when prompted.
Download this zip file.
Go to the system folder and copy app and framework folders to the system folder in Generic-deodex.zip.
Save the zip and copy it to the root of your SD Card
Reboot to recovery and flash it via CWM. Might take about 2 minutes to complete the flashing.
This might look long but in practice it's very easy and not time consuming, but it appears as 15 steps because I simplify things to a newbie level to be understandable by absolutely anyone
Sorry Panda00,
thank you very much for your tutorial, but this doesn't work for me..
Have you really tried it that way?
xUltimate(2.4) returns an error at deodexing the first app (accuweatheretc...):
Error occured while loading boot class path files. Aborting.
I have a XXAMC1 Version and i have no idea how to deal with this error..
Can you help me please?
Btw there is a new xultiamte version: http://www.xeudoxus.com/android/xUltimate-v2.4.2.zip
Cheers,
Aaron
Try this... go to the "make your ROM guide and set up kitchen only... in the kitchen folder... where original_update and many other files exist... and create a new folder called WORKING_X then create a folder inside that folder, name it system. Copy origi_app and origi_frame (apk/jar files you pulled) from xUltimate folder to the system folder in WORKING_X. Rename origi_app and origi_frame to app and framework respectively. Open up kitchen, press 11 and deodex both folders. Then put the folders in the generic zip as instructed.

Right man
Rom is 90% complete (so far so good). But kernel is absolutely necessary to improve the battery status.
I got no news from @k2wl yet but one thing is clear... the kernel will be a monster
A MONSTER that is exactly what we need.

Because it is more simple to modify the files if the system is deodexed because instead of 2 files you have just one including the other one

Some times my phone wont wake-up, then i hold the power button for a few seconds the phone will reboot then.
Do you have the same problem, its tooks longer to get your phone on...
Tested on rooted XXKP4.
1. Extract the achive called "xUltimate 2.2" then start Main.exe.
2. If everything is ok, xUltimate will recognize your phone (don't forget to turn on "USB Debugging"), then you will see a menu.
3. Run option 1, after option 1 run option 2.
4. Run option 3 and after option 3, run option 4 and wait
5. Close xUltimate
6. Copy folders "done_app" and "done_frame" to root of /sdcard/
7. Put the folder from "gscript.zip" to root of /sdcard/
8. Install BusyBox_installer_3.6.3 (run (root needed) and click on "Install", then wait to finish (wtf ) ), after this install nl.rogro.GScriptLite.
9. Turn off and turn on the phone (restart)
10. Switch the phone to "USB Debugging" mode and turn on "Emulate Location"
11. Go to GScript Lite --> Menu --> Add script --> Load file --> Deodex.sh --> Save --> Run
12. Ok, now the phone will restart.
13. If your phone doesn't stuck in bootloop, seems everything is ok

didn't know it was that easy to deodex, but anyway, you don't need to rename app.apk to app.zip, apk's can be opened by any archiver.
so you can just put the classes.dex in the apk.
So, Basically...
So, basically, what you did there was DeODEXed an ODEXed app... Is it correct?
I never knew DeODEXing would be this easy... So I'm quite unsure about this. Can anyone try to do this on an ODEXed app?
Anyone?
I am having one apk which can schedule power on and off your android device..Actually I have got this from Micromax but unable to install it on my HTC one..try if anyone succeeds and let me know please....I have uploaded the apk as well...Thanks and waiting for experts to reply soon...
I think no one has tried it yet..My above power on off scheduler...Try it man and let me know plz....
Does it work? I couldn't fix this problem
very desperate.. pls help

Still unsolved!!!! Please help!!!
Yeah, I got it. It really works on your case. But what if we say, like in my case, that the to-be-installed apps really give the same "App not installed" error (attempting to install Astro File Manager or any other would still be futile), even though they tend to work well on other phones, which means it's just my phone which that's not working. How should I fix this? I've tried almost everything like resetting the app preferences in the App manager. Also, factory resetting the phone is never a good choice for me since losing all the data would be very sad. Please help!

What i did was search were apks are kept in system. it was in the data folder(you need root) and then i put these apks in the data folder where all other apks are installed and manually placed my apks there. Now the apps which i wasnt able to install work like charm. What you do is to place the apk in the folder and then reeboot your phone. On reebooting you will see a shortcut of the applications you just placed. Hope it helps

This worked for me, but you forgot to mention that you need to set permissions to 0644. After I did that, I didn't even have to reboot, the apps appeared in my drawer just like that. Thx, BTW.

I DL'ed your APK, and installed it, only to be told "There was a problem parsing the package. This USUALLY, IME, means that there was a problem during the file transfer, however your apk just will NOT work for me, I tried DL'ing it 3X, 3 different machines, no luck. Sorry, man. NOT an expert, BTW, but I have SOME knowledge.
Android Link/Shortcut Editing
Again, this is the 2nd time I was logged out on the middle of this post. It is more than infuriating with such a crippled text entry interface.
This page is not right, I'm having to re-author this post when for whatever reason my previous login was no longer valid and my post data was lost?? Also, is there a solution for text entry erratic/jumping-around behavior??
Re: Android; Application not installed on your phone
To my chagrin I have more than a few 'application specific' internet (URL) links/shortcuts to an app whose current version crashes on startup; and I have uninstalled it. Anyway, I would rather that these links run the browser chooser/launcher or something more useful like an unrooted URL-extractor/editor/viewer--Really, Android shows such a basic error without some madness to correct it? Only one star for Dolphin browser : (
Plsssss help
It shows application not installed only for kinguser (root management app). Others all install properly. I TRIED FACTORY RESET AND RECOVERY MOD STILL NO RESULT PLSSSS HELP AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.
This "guide" is BS.
>app.odex
first of all, an app only comes with an .apk
file, for example this towelroot apk
so I dunno how one could sign it using your BS method

Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer. Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

This is not a ROM, It is only the Deodexed Stock System Folder, for those who wish to make some Custom ROMs or want to edit their Stock System files, but are unable to do that due to .odex files. Here all odex files are removed and classes.dex files are introduced in their .apk. Which helps developers make make ROMs and people to edit and develop things.

The zip contains a system folder. Using a Root Explorer replace your stock System folder with the system folder present inside this zip file. And then reboot your device. By this method you will have a deodex Stock System in your device.

If you want to get this deodexed system into your device then just copy "app" and "framework" folder from this zip file and paste and replace these folders into your system's "system" folder using Root Explorer...
Or you can do one more thing. Download a Custom ROM for Xperia C and then place this system folder (from this thread) into that ROM zip file and flash the ROM...

Apologize in advance, With file copying deodex one by one to the ODEX file, what will not have bootloop? And what files should I move to ODEX file? What only app folder and the folder framework? Or is there another folder should I move to folder ODEX?

The only thing you have to do is to copy the "app" and "framework" folder from the zip that you download from this thread and paste them into the "system" folder of your mobile phone (replace the preexisting folder). You can do this using app called Root Explorer

Just open yhe system folder of your mobile using Root Explorer application and there you will find the "app" folder and "framework" folder delete those folders. (DO NOT RESTART YOUR DEVICE AFTER THIS). Then open the zip file that you will download from this thread. In that zip file you will find a folder named system and inside it you will find a folder named "app" and a folder named "framework" copy these folders and place them into your mobile's system using the same Root Explorer file. Now Restart your device.
