[Q] Need help on posting my query in developer thread - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I installed Zelly Cream ROM by Gagan and have issues to report. But i'm not able to post my issues in his ROM thread because im not 10 posts old.:crying::crying:
Im sad for not being able to get assistance from the developer for the issues im experiencing. I also have some nice +ve feedback for Gagan.
Its no point in preventing a user of a ROM, Kernel & ..... to post their views.i think
can someone guide or redirect me to the correct thread.
Thnsk

The developer forums are intended for experienced users and developers to discuss ways to improve technical aspects related to ROMs and Software. While you may be an expert, we ask ALL users to avoid posting questions about using or installing ROMs and software in the Development Forums. To encourage this new Users can read but not post in these forums.
To ask Questions about developing your device, installing ROMs, software and themes you must go to the Q&A or General Forum.
Remember, your question has very likely been asked already, so please search before posting.

So better go to General/Q&A sections and just try helping out the fellow XDA members by helping them answer their queries, thus improving the number of posts.

thanks techpick,
I have read this post by admins and understood the restriction.
But, wt I thought is, as a user of Zellycream ROM, I should be able to post by feedback, issues etc regardless of the number of post i posted in XDA. initially thot of sending a message to the developer bt reaslised it may spam his messagebox.
I understand that this rule is to stop noobs and unwanted flooding of dev threads...but there are many posts in different threads by noobs n inappropriate comments, just because they are morethan 10 posts old.
I felt somehow its unfair to stop the users to post their views about their experineces.
now i have to post some or the other threads just to be >10 posts member.

The 10 post rule may seem unfair but it is set up to protect the best parts of xda...the development forums. It is really important that you try to make your first 10 posts count and not post 10 useless posts of spam. Here are a couple of guides: 10 post guide:

New Users guide:

I am going to close this thread, because typically these kinds of threads get trolled pretty heavily.

My, but that is a nuisance, isn't it? I know it's meant to keep newbies from cluttering up the dev forums with inane questions, but some of us do have valuable things to contribute to those forums despite being new to this particular site. Anyway, I have the same problem, but it's probably just a matter of time until I hit that magic limit, as you apparently did a couple posts ago.
Yea, But im no where near a noob. I work for U.S.Cellular and Im not asking ?`s and giving what I know about things and helping people.
You have to post more than 10 replies, then you can reply to "Rom related posts".
let me check which is this post i am posting
same problem here
This is insanely annoying, I am sought of new to the forums but have been installing roms and tweaks to android.for years. I.read those forums and can contribute a lot of stuff but aren't able to post yet. there are not many non-developer forums that have many things worth posting about.

yep hopefully this works for me
I just find a general discussion, and add my 2c to it.
It adds up,
How about you all stop spamming and write something usefull...

Just write a PM to a mod, they will fix it.
can also bring with it a lot of spam so people hit the magic number......possibly like this post
The general situation is still acceptable since your case is rare.
$1 gets you a reply
I have the same problem ((
I also have the same problem, but I've read what the administrator of this forum said... "please do 10 posts to be able to post in other forums".
btw. this is post #9 for me, one more to go and I'm good to go.
Same here, only subscribed to thank the dev of the rom i'm using, but i can't thank his post untill i reach the number of 10 posts
I will post

this was right
Is 10 posts the magic limit?
I would like to be able to post to try to resolve some of my issues, but I'm also trying to answer questions in the meantime so.... whatever.
Well to add some sense to this:
I have the same problem, but I do have more then 10 posts.. This kinda bugs me since I'm pretty experienced and I have a question, which I can't post now..
EDIT
Allright for some reason now I can post. Ignore this post please, maybe I was a bit to impatient.

Welcome to XDA Dev! You are a noob with stupid questions, please produce spam!

chilaxed, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

I understand new users can be annoying, but this... I mean really? Do the administrators of this site think they are running the only technology-related forum on the internet? Is it impossible to believe someone may already be familiar with common-sense forum etiquette? That maybe someone already has experience and knows how to solve their own problems without spamming and general noobery? And what makes them assume I'm asking a question? After months of lurking I found a ROM I liked enough that I decided to actually register, just to thank the author and report some minor graphical and performance issues. But apparently this website is absolutely certain I'm just a noob trying to ask a stupid question, so I'm forced to generate ten posts of spam before I can actually contribute... as some sort of way to prevent spam? Am I the only one who sees this as being completely pointless and counter-productive?
Oh and yes, this thread is full of (rhetorical)questions! But I'm afraid of what further condescending and presumptuous harassment will ensue from checking the box.
Not at all as proven by this thread. The rules were put into place to prevent spam but also to teach people how to search. (which you didn't do)

You need to fulfill the 10 post rule first. Most threads are development threads, therefore new members are not allowed to post until the 10 post minimum is met. This doesn't mean go and make 10 spam/junk/worthless posts either. Someone is always watching for this kind of behaviour.
zerovirusity said:
to all members here, although we are newbies here, we are aware of the rules in this forum because i am also a member in some forums. i hope you will considerate us. we chose to be a member here because this forum has a lot of things that we needed and some answers for our questions. if that's the case that we need to post 10 or more than posts, then please allow us here to post. don't closed it first until we reach 10 posts.

Threads are only closed for irrelevant posts/spam. Make a worthwhile post and it won't be deleted/locked/removed. Pretty simple really. Everyone needs to bear in mind that this forum is intended for developers. Which 90% or better of you are not.
There are already plenty of threads that discuss this topic, so we don't need a new once (hence the closure).
One of my favourite reasons for the 10 post rule is that it encourages most users (the less spammy and needy ones) to spend more time reading than trying to post in development forums. If you do spend enough time reading you find that 99% of your questions have already been answered, and you learn a hell of a lot and start being able to answer questions yourself. That's a great way to take part in the community as a contributing member. In fairness, if you come here to leech and not participate then you're not adding anything to the forum.
Anyway, if you want more info then see the link in my signature about 10 posts - that should answer more questions

Somebody Help

Will somebody Plz care to explain what is the Concept of being Eligible for Posting in Developers Thread only After posting 10 Posts:crying::crying:
I don't understand
For Example, If i have a doubt about a Rom and want to post in respective Thread, am not allowed to.. Am allowed to post only in General Q & A Section. It is very difficult to get Answer. Some People are kind enough to respond to PM, Otherwise it is hell of a Job to get an Answer.
What is the use of posting 10 posts which are not usefull only to get a Usefull Answer

I agree.....
It is to make sure that people don't post anything they want to as soon as the get an account. It is there in an effort to avoid new users from posting wrong threads and questions in the development section. If you want to read more go here
http://www.xda-developers.com/announcements/xdas-10-post-rule/
You said that you have to post useless posts and other things to get to being able to ask questions in the dev threads. Well the 10 post rule was made so that you could contribute to the community in the q and a sections and so forth to get your 10 posts.

Thanks for Clarification. I still see people asking so stupid questions in dev's thread inspite of their coverage extensively in many thread, But they are allowed to post for only they have completed their quota of 10
And regarding contributing to community, I think am at Kindergarten level in a Hidh School

10 posts restriction

Hi, I know that the 10 posts restriction is necessary to keep new users from spamming and that's OK, but sometimes it isn't as useful. I have been an XDA user for more than a year now or event two, I'm not a developer so most of the times I have nothing to contribute, and I'm an experienced Android user so I don't usually have something to ask for, when I do post something or try to post is because there is a bug or some fix on some ROM that I'm using or that I know of, but I can't because most of the ROMs all in a development forums. My point is that it would be much better if XDA had a system which takes into consideration how many years have you been visiting the forums and if you are trying to reply in a thread instead of creating one.
I'm sure that a lot of users like me would appreciate it.
Please use search before posting duplicate comments and/or questions...
Several links about this already...here is one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/about-xda/10-post-minimum-to-post-develop-forum-t2842036
Alos, please read this guide to help you get started on XDA, and this guide as well regarding post counts and development as this information is for new/junior members such as yourself and should answer most, if not all, questions you may have.
