Installation Instructions:
Note:This ROM uses JBX kernel. Those of you who were getting the black screen problem with kexec kernel will get the same bug here.
Note:To be flashed via BMM only
Note:Please backup your CID just to be safe.So that if you get a message invalid CID or something just restore it and you'll be good to go.
To backup CID:
Reboot into Recovery
Tap on firmware flashing
Tap on backup CID.
BMM instructions:
See here if this is your first time multibooting with BMM.
Download and install BMM from google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...otmenu.manager
Our phone does not have a partition for internal storage.. so we use the data partition for it.. To do so, just open a root browser like root explorer and navigate to /etc/bmm/conf
Open "recovery.fstab" with a text editor
The last line will be something like this
/int vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p25
Just change 'vfat' to 'auto' and 'mmcblk1p25' to 'userdata' (its the same though..)
So that it looks like this
/int auto /dev/block/userdata
and of course save it and close it..
Done.. you are good to go.. Happy Multi Booting..
Just some tips
On your first reboot, tap the android, go to settings-->System_2-->Partition setup and tap on ACTIVATE. This formats cdrom partition to ext2.
Now go back 2 two steps, and select any other system(3-6). choose Partition setup, tap on system.img, tap on Create, select the size, create it. go back and do the same with data.img and cache.img.
Once thats done, go back and select recovery, select switch system. choose your system that you created the images for, the colour will change, install any custom rom.. Enjoy!!
NOTE: BMM stores the images in internal memory(/int/clockworkmod/virtual/system_(num)). Since we dont have emmc partition and are using the data partition for /int, doing a factory reset will wipe it out and you will lose all your other roms.. So be carefull..
NOTE 2: USE ONLY SYSTEMS 3 TO 6 FOR CUSTOM ROMS.. SUSTEM 2 IS CDROM PARTITION.. YOU ACTIVATE IT ONCE AND DONE.. DONT TOUCH IT AGAIN.. ITS ONLY 12MB..
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL BMM IF YOU USED A2 BOOTSTRAPPER BEFORE. THAT WILL MESS THINGS UP WITH YOUR LOGWRAPPER.BIN. THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL BOOT LOOP AFTER REBOOT. NOW IF FOR SOME REASON YOU DID NOT READ THIS, AND GET A MESSAGE ABOUT BMM ASKING YOU TO GET HELP, BEST THING FOR YOU TO DO IS RECHARGE YOUR BATTERY FULLY AND FXZ BACK. OR THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL HAVE TO USE MCGRUVYER METHOD OR ANOTHER A2 BATTERY. USER RAD7 RECENTLY HAD QUITE A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH HIS BATTERY DYING AFTER BMM MESSED WITH LOGWRAPPER. YOU HAVE BEEN INFORMED.
Make sure you have BMM recovery.
Reboot and hit the droid at the BMM splash screen
Optional:
Tap on Settings
Create a new System by creating system, data and cache partitons.Delete the previous partitions if you have to(NOTE: You can skip this but it's better to do it this way)

General Info & Introduction
Android Open Source Project: Or in short AOSP. Android is an open-source software stack created for mobile phones and other devices. The Android Open Source Project (AOSP), led by Google, is tasked with the maintenance and further development of Android. Many device manufacturers have brought to market devices running Android, and they are readibly available around the world.
Rooting: Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's subsystem. Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices, resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps that require administrator-level permissions, or perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user.

New ROM! Great! :good:
Need 2 check these common CM & Butter problems
1) old CM bug in network scanning not showing available networks (currently pure aosp from clie is not scanning right as well)
2) loud buzz sound (robotic) instead of normal tone on first dial (very often, quite annoying)
3) rare screen flickering
4) very often battery app doesn't reset counter after charging and continue to calculate and show stuff like "3 days 11 hours... on battery" (maybe an issue with dock, since I use it daily for overnight charging)
5) video recording sound glitch
6) DSP manager gets killed/deactivated after some time during playback (doesn't happen with ViPER4Android (V4A) Audio Effects though)
7) mms cannot be received issue
8) bug with no audio in hangouts (hangouts issue?)
Nice! Another awesome 4.2.2 ROM!
Just a few questions:
1. This ROM doesn't have ION implemented in it's kernel, does it?
2. What is hot-reboot?
Sent from my Ouya
Downloading,report later. Thanks
As I stated on your Facebook wall, awesome job with this rom, I was one of the first to try it before it was posted and I was impressed. Very kinky animals too lol

Hot Reboot is similar to the function of HTC Sense "Quick Reboot", where it reboots the shell only.

I'll just let you know what's specfic to this ROM and what's not (happens on all ROMs running JB).
1. Possible RIL lib(.so) bug, effects all JB ROMs
2. ROM bug, specific to this ROM. (Never had it on any JB ROMs I've tried, and I've tried most of them)
3. Kernel/JB bug. Not ROM based (per se).
4. Needs to charge to 100%/99% before it resets. Occurs in most AOSP based JB ROMs including mine
5. ROM bug, specific to this ROM.
6. I know the bug, need some time to fix it myself. Service is killed after a while. General JB bug with all or most low memory devices using DSP in the ROMs.
7. ROM bug specific to this ROM.
8. ROM bug, can be fixed by using Team-Hydra's audio-caf tree.
Hopefully this helps the devs out a little.

Nice! Another awesome 4.2.2 ROM!
Just a few questions:
1. This ROM doesn't have ION implemented in it's kernel, does it?
2. What is hot-reboot?

If it had ION then the camera wouldn't work. A hot-reboot just restarts the shell instead of the whole phone.

There's a Known Bugs section of the OP that doesn't say the camera is broken. Also, one of the features is "Custom Camera features". The device tree on ThinkingBridge's GitHub doesn't have ION enabled.

Yes, which means it doesn't have ION because if it had ION then the camera would not work (unless they had a 3.4 kernel, which they do not). That means the ROM has PMEM and has the camera working (which is what I originally said ).

[rom][30/03/2014] Beanstalk 4.4.275 [UNOFFICIAL][KITKAT]

Frequent Q&A (maybe?)

Q: WHY FAQ FIRST?
A: Because, I have seen some of you guys are so lazy to scroll down a bit to read this as this is essential post I think. And further more, I don't want you to brick your phone because of your lack of reading skill .
Q: Am I advised to do anything?
A: READ THIS CAREFULLY everyone. Since I changed the partition layout for more convenient to work on kitkat or future Android so I advise you to do a oneclick heimdall back to BML first, do a full wipe except for the sdcard and then flash the kitkat zip. Once u r in TWRP, full wipe and flash the build again (with or without gapps) . I might change the partition table several times until I have the good space calculation for rom and gapps tho, so this procedure is advised/required - just took u 30s to do that tho.
I will also mark the zip/update that have another different table that required this procedure then, otherwise, you can update via dirty flash.
Link to heimdall package: AntonX's Basic with a twist kernel [BML]
And here is the recommended procedure:
1. Make backup or whatever u need then copy the ROM into ur sdcard.
2. Reboot into Recovery and full wipe except sdcard.
3. Reboot into Download mode and Heimdall oneclick BML ROM/kernel
4. Flash the Beanstalk build from CWM 5.x
5. After booted into TWRP, full wipe and flash the Beanstalk ROM again - use the button combo to get into TWRP if it doesn't do it automatically.
6. Reboot and enjoy!
Q: Is this Rooted?
A: Yes it is. To have the Root privileges, Go to settings>about phone>then tap build number 7 times to enable the developer settings, once enabled, under root access, choose apps and adb. That's all. (Thanks to @foxxx5oh)
Q: Where is 'fix permission' option in CWM?
A: I believe koush decided to throw away the fix permissions button in CWM because he said it was largely placebo effect and had no real purpose anymore. (Thanks to @cpkelley94)
Q: Dahell, I can't use Google Now.
A: I found that all you have to do to fix Google now is get root explorer, titanium backup or SD maid, remove system app Google search and reinstall from play store... (Thanks to @turtlepa)
Q: My battery drains so fast and I found out that WiFi kept awake and running in background even I disabled it. Why?
A: Due to new Android version permission, Google set up a new option to allow Gapps to scan for nearby networks even when WiFi is off. To disable that, go to settings>WiFi>advance>untick the scanning always available option n u r cool again .
Q: Is this really KITKAT? And can I eat it?
A: Yes, yes it is. And u r advised to cook it before eating tho. Enjoy your meal then .
Q: Why built Beanstalk instead of CM 11?
A: I build what I like so build whatever u want that hasn't existed here at your own joy as I have publicly pushed all of my changes for Jellybean and Kitkat @ my Github: https://github.com/daothanhduy

I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by Scott.hart.bti. This is a build composed off of the CM builds and Scott.hart.bti has added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with Scott.hart.bti's current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
Scott.hart.bti plans on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

So your interested in Building/Porting for another device?! Follow this guide! **Please make sure to give proper credits and Use the layout i have in the first post.** - If you need assistance, please send me a PM, do NOT post questions in this thread. I may open a general porting/building thread in another section depending on how this goes. You must have some general experience/knowledge in this area to complete this. Building from Linux platforms. In particular Ubuntu 10.04
If you have building/development concerns or issues, Please visit the BeanStalk Development Thread to avoid cluttering this thread.
Setup to build - This section can be skipped if you've ever built anything before. This is for first time build setup.
1. From your root terminal location, type the following: sudo apt-get install curl git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
2. Type: mkdir ~/bin
3. Type: PATH=~/bin:$PATH
4. Type: curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
5. Type: chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
From terminal
1. type 'cd'. This will bring you to your root folder.
2. type 'mkdir beanstalk'. This will create a folder named beanstalk.
3. type 'cd beanstalk'. This will take you to the beanstalk directory created from previous step
4. type 'repo init -u git://github.com/scotthartbti/android.git -b cm-10.1'. This will setup the folders to be synced.
5. type 'repo sync'. This will sync the folders to your beanstalk directory. Note - This will take some time depending on internet connection. Be patient!
6. After the repo sync finally finishes, all you need to do is add your device, kernel, vendor specific files for the device you are building for. (You must know what these are, dont bother asking me if your not sure.)
7. Make sure all your device specific files are setup as if you were going to build for CM.
8. Outside of terminal, navigate to beanstalk/vendor/cm. Double click on the get-prebuilts file and select run in terminal. This will fetch necessary files needed to build and place them where they need to be.
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh && brunch "device name"'
10. Previous step will start building beanstalk for your device. The process takes anywhere from 1 - 3 hours depending on your computer.
11. Once completed, it will say package complete and you will have a beanstalk named zip file in your out folder.
CAUTION!!!!!!!! At the moment, the ROM size is too big to have space for Gapps, so please IF YOU WANT to ENJOY this ROM with Gapps, FOLLOW my INSTRUCTION:
1. Open the ROM zip: BeanStalk-4.4.205-20131231-galaxys4gmtd.zip via WinRAR or Winzip or 7z,... on your PC/laptop
2. Browse to /system/app and delete these files:
GooManager.apk
HoloLauncherHD.apk
Nova.apk
QuickSearchBox.apk
3. Download my Moded Slim_minimal gapps - I just deleted the Hang out, Youtube, Google Music player and Gmail which you can install it via playstore - put it in your sdcard and flash along with the ROM.
4*. For advance users only, AFTER doing all those steps, you can even delete the LatinIME which is 40MB @ /system/app via RootExplorer and install Google keyboard - as user app - instead via Playstore or find the apk @xda .
Enjoy using it everyone!
Or simplier: download this gapps insted, only 17.4MB, I just found it but haven't tried: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319195954

I should think that the end user would be the best one to determine that answer.:silly:
All the options/feature for each ROM are listed for you in OP first posts. Decide & try.
One thing I can notice w this rom, the meamory leak seems tp be better than on Slimkat even after flashing gapps.
Originally (w/o gapps) the ROM only uses 52MB RAM for apps (not include caches), sounds crazy.
And FYI, I will support this ROM even with Sabermod/Linaro toolchain soon along w Slimkat and I will only support these 2 ROMs. No CM11 due to limited hard disk on my laptop so dont ask for it. If u want to have CM11, feel free to build as all of my commits are online and open. If u need help for building, feel free to pm me but just warn u that even tho I have good temper with requests/reports but I am such a jerk with instructing ppl (as I am easily go mad somehow, even tho I used to be a noob asking for help back then) so feel free asking for help but forgive me if I say something wrong. Thanks!

Would you say that this is more stable than SlimKat? That is my main concern because ive had many freezing issues with SlimKat.

Nope I didnt say so. This ROM still has some graphical glitches with the Quick Setting but other than that, it is cooler than Slim with features. But IMO, I still prefer using slimkat as slimkat is slimmer (obviously), purer and has the better TRDS compat (as beanstalk hasn't meraged all the TRDS commits tho). I just flashed Slimkat for 2 more ppl and my Mom, my friends and I haven't seen any reboot/freeze with the original set up config on slimkat tho so IDK what was wrong w ur phone. Anw, choice is yours so choose what u like to run then .

Browser?
I'm not sure if maybe this is just me, but I have tried flashing this ROM a few different ways, and still the browser won't open when installed? Any ideas? Also, excellent work on SlimKat and BeanStalk4.4 ;D
New build is up on my Goo.im. Enjoy everyone!
New: New NiLTMT kernel - v14.01.01, Camera buggy fixed.

It happened to me also, I don't know what fixed it, but I recall that I wiped everything (system/data/dalvik/sd-ext) except SD card and reflashed, also
don't flash Slim-minimal Gapps, I think it is the culprit. Instead flash the one provided in the first post (only google play) which works.
On a side note, this rom is much more stable and feature rich unlike Slimkat. I like it, it only needs working GPS and it would be perfect. (I wonder if porting the Vibrant's GPS drivers would work, since they have the same gps chip and they have it working in kitkat and JB).
I dont have any issues with the browser. But I did notice that everytime I boot, or reboot the phone, I loose all of the widgets that I put on the home screen. Not sure why it does this, and it is not hard to put them back on, just annoying.

I have no reboot issue with this rom, this happens when I reboot the phone. I also run Apex launcher. I have the Facebook widgets, a clock widget, and Weatherbug widget. They all do not reload after reboot.

Been there done that! LOL. Still a great Rom, and how often do you actually reboot your phone, maybe once a week? I can live with this issue.

it depends. when i am experiencing lag. i will clear cache and dalvik. or if my battery runs out.
sometimes, to install, (like installing system apps or private apps ) that require boot to be seen in my drawer
Glad u guys enjoying beanstalk. Fyi, the lag on beanstalk is caused by the swipe to switch feature which caused lag on some other kitkat ROMs as well (but there are still some also have swipe to switch feature w/o lag). Swipe to switch let you swipe across the notification tray to switch to Quick Settings. Btw I am setting up a linaro/SaberMod Slimkat build that hopefully wont have the issue w reboot/freeze. Glad to know that it doesnt exist on beanstalk.

About BlissPop
Bliss Roms is dedicated to creating one of the most highly customizable ROMs that one can find. For example, if there is a cool feature available we have it, or we are working on getting it. Team Bliss consists of experienced Android developers with a wide range of skills. With the combination of features we support and the experienced developers we have, this will create a truly blissful experience for all.
About me
I am android enthusiast quite happy to share my own build of BlissPop with the XDA community. I thought it would be a nice breath of fresh air in environment polluted with all those cooked Lollipop TW roms. I have successfully built other roms from source for my private use. All of them were available as nightlies or previews, officially supported by the devs (Slim, CM, AICP, Vanir, etc), so there was no need for me to post separate thread.
Why Bliss? I was very impressed by its speed and stability. And the fact that for the first time I have built a rom that is not officially supported for our device. I like the cool dark look as well.
About You
I am not a developer, just a wannabe and this is me doing rom for my personal use and sharing it with you guys. All props to Team Bliss. If you do not like it, thanks for trying and good luck elsewhere. There are much better supported roms out there. If you have nice feature from other rom, please give me a source (git, gerrit) and I may consider it. But I will not deviate too much from the original as I think it is already very feature-packed.
Standard Disclaimer
No one besides yourself is responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in the products you find here before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Your warranty will be void if you tamper with any part of your device / software. That said, I have tested this, and wouldn't post it here if I thought you would have issues from using it.

Wallpaper changing will fc, although it works anyway.
Gapps backup not working. Flash gapps with rom upgrade.
Navbar fc - disabled for now.
Built-in DPI changer not working. Use Texdroider or similar.
Tested Working
GPS
Root through SuperSu
DPI change through 3rd party app
Game (Blocky Roads, only one I’m playing currently)

Other Notes
As time progresses, you will see many unique features available. There is a team of great devs behind this rom, and lot of great stuff coming our way. But you do have to be patient in the beginning, Lollipop is all new and shiny.

Known Issues
Updater wouldn’t work as this is not official build. Might remove it in future builds.
Keyboard can not be changed from default - CM issue, fix coming.
Tested Working
GPS
Root through SuperSu
DPI change through 3rd party app
Game (Blocky Roads, only one I’m playing currently)
Video play (haven’t tested Youtube)
Calls (calling, answering, reception, quality)
Sound (haven’t used players or built-in equaliser)
External SD (ext3 formatted)
Other Notes
As time progresses, you will see many unique features available. There is a team of great devs behind this rom, and lot of great stuff coming our way. But you do have to be patient in the beginning, Lollipop is all new and shiny.

What about battery life? Every CM12 rom smokes the battery away like a small joint. What about this one?

I think this is specific to TW roms, correct me if I'm wrong. This rom will have all the features of all other AOSP roms combined. At this moment it is difficult to find rom as customisable as this one.
On other note: I had great first day of usage, battery flatlined during the night. Zero crashes/reboots. *pats himself on the back*
Hello. And first, as always, big thank you to the dev for the hard work. Now to my issue. I am performing a full wipe....3 factory resets back to back to back....then 3 wiles each of system, data, dalvik, and cache. When attempting to flash this rom however i am recieving a error within TWRP. I am, and have been running full lollipop roms previous. I cant remember the exact error message but could retrieve it if necessary. It is a red error that shows right after i swioe to flash.
I am on a 900t. Thankyou

There were lot of changes from CM in attempt to separate the international note from tmo one, due to nfc issues. This is probably the issue for you, your phone id doesn't correspond to international version. I will try to build tmo-specific one, I am just waiting for someone to ask.
Edit: I was right, getprop script asks for one of the following: SM-N9005, SM-N900S, SM-N900K, so basically your phone isn't recognised.
It was in one of the feature in cm11 and i dun use tw rom on the beginning of mine note 3. It was active display if i not wrong.

From the lead dev.
"This started as my personal project..I was looking to start something that was exactly what I wanted on my nexus 7 instead of either a rom with a bunch of features you need a search to find (not that there's anything wrong with that, just not my cup of tea), or too light where i needed a module to get it (not that there's anything wrong with that either). It is very early in, but I and my team are trying to make this a enjoyable project and keep it updated as best we can regularly. Keep it friendly, or GTFO.....Thanks guys..
Thanks to AOSP for the best base...SlimRoms for all the help...and anyone (person or team) who has helped me along the way."
BrokenPop is the Broken team's LP offering. the vast majority of the base is tracking from AOSP but there's much help from the hard working Slim team as well! Those guys kick ass. If you're looking for a clean, lean moderately themed LP offering, your search is over. More features will be built back in as we move forward but it's time to show you around the new Broken goodness.

ALL CREDITS SHOULD GO TO BROKEN TEAM FOR BRINGING US THIS ROM
Installation Procedure (TWRP 2.8.6.0 Recommended)
- Gapps needed. The latest Broken 5.1 Gapps are recommended so grab them from HERE.
- Download the ROM using the links below and make sure it and the GAPPS zip are all copied to sdcard.
- FULLY WIPE (Data, System, Cache, Dalvik) when coming from any other ROM. Dirty flashes can only be performed when upgrading from a previous BrokenPOP build, unless otherwise stated. (NOTE: Though you can dirty flash, a clean flash is always recommended)
- Install the ROM, followed by the gapps package
- Reboot, profit

Whenever the team decides to level up. The goal is an operable ROM with excellent battery life...we're getting there. ETA asks will not be responded to, thanks for your understanding and patience.
Questions?
Read the FAQ in third post...and I mean it. ALL of you! If you don't find your answer there, post your questions in the Q&A thread for this ROM HERE. THIS thread is for development. Thank you!

FAQ
First of all, I am NOT the developer of this ROM, I was building it for my own use and with permission from BrokenOS Team I've decided to share my builds with you.
So please DON'T ask for features as I can't add them, also don't report bugs since this is an unofficial build and the chances to have them solved are minimal. Edit: Since 3.0 Milestone we got official support for our device. Reporting bugs should be done with a logcat attached.
I will try to answer some questions here in order to avoid issues
Q: I was flashing this ROM and now my phone is broken. What should I do?
A: NOTHING. Isn't that exactly what you wanted?
Q: I flashed this ROM and now I got into bootloop. What's wrong?
A: Most probably you're S-On and you forgot to flash boot.img in fastboot mode AFTER you flashed the ROM. There are many threads detailing the procedure, search for it.
Q: Will it be available for hboot 2.16 also?
A: NO. I am building this only for the hboot I can test on and I have no intention to switch to 2.16
Q: Does this ROM have root?
A: Yes, SuperSU is included and you can update it via Play Store when a newer version is out
Q: Flashed the ROM but I have the NavBar active. Our phone has hardware buttons and I don't need NavBar. Is there a way to remove it?
A: YES it is. You have 2 ways of doing this. Either go to Settings - Broken Pieces - Navigation and set Navigation bar height to 0dp or, edit build.prop in /system and set qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 or remove the line. EDIT: Starting 3.3 build this is no longer needed, NavBar is hidden by default
Q: After flashing the ROM, everything on screen is small and font can be barely seen. Can I change this?
A: Yes you can. By default, Broken has set 200DPI screens res. You can change this in Settings - Display - LCD density. You can also increase font size if needed
Q: I wanted to install Viper4Android, I made all the right steps but it is still not working. What can I do?
A: Viper4Android and other programs as well, need selinux to be set as "permissive". This ROM has it set to "enforcing" by default. You can change this setting by using a third party app from HERE. EDIT: Starting with build 2.7, ROM contains an selinux permissive/enforcing switch so there's no need for an external app anymore.
Q: Sound during calls seems to be low for me, what options do I have?
A: You can either modify snd_soc_msm_2x file located in /system/etc/snd_soc_msm or...you can use THIS file that I've already modified to increase the volume. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP FILE. DO NOT FLASH IN RECOVERY. You should just extract the file in the zip and replace the one on your phone. Make a backup of the original file for safety
Q: GAPPS on Broken site are not updated frequently, can I use other GAPPS packages?
A: Theoretically any GAPPS package can be used as long as it is made for Android 5.1.1. Broken GAPPS are updated but not so often as others. If you're not satsfied. as an alternative, you can use TK GAPPS HERE
Q: Can I flash a custom kernel like IceCode, Mrak...?
A: You can but if having ANY issues you should revert back to ROMs kernel. I've tested Mrak and IceCode and both worked but that's not a guarantee they'll work for all.
Q: I've tried to customize the buttons but all I can see in that section is for customizing Home button. Aren't any other options yet?
A: They are, just they're not in the usual places you've got used with. You can assign "kill app" to Back button in Settings - Broken Pieces - Navigation. You can set "volume wake" (wake the device by volume buttons) in Settings - Broken Pieces - Volume keys.
Q: But I cannot assign the "menu" function to Recents button.
A: So what? Assign it to long-press Home
Q: I see there is a different recents screen in this ROM and I like more the "standard" Lollipop recents screen. Can we have that one instead?
A: YES you can. In this ROM, recents screen has 2 "styles" : standard Lollipop and Slim Recents. You can switch between them in Settings - Broken Pieces - Navigation - Recent apps panel. By default, Slim Recents is active.
Q: I've noticed that the Layers Manager is an older version, there's a newer one on Play Store. Can I have that one?
A: YES you can. You should first delete the existing Layer Manager application from /system/app (by using a root file explorer), reboot, then install the latest version from HERE. The entry in Settings will work with the new installed version.
Q: The Performance menu in Settings is using an older version of Kernel Adiutor, can I have the latest one?
A: YES, you can. Same as for Layer Manager, you should first delete the existing Kernel Adiutor application (by using a root file explorer), reboot, then install latest version from HERE. The entry in Settings will work with the new installed version.
Q: I found a BUG, what should I do?
A: Reporting bugs should only be made by including steps to replicate the bug and logcats. If those two are not included, such posts will be ignored and not even answered, sorry.
Q: The BrokenCenter in Settings has an OTA feature. Is it working for us too?
A: NO, it is not. OTA support was not yet configured for our device. The only way to upgrade is by the builds I will upload on AFH on the link provided in OP
EDIT: Starting 3.4 build, OTA functionality has been integrated and working. BrokenCenter is gone for now and you can check for updated software in Settings - About Phone - Broken Updates
Q: How often will you update this ROM?
A: The team is releasing it once per week, on each Saturday. The builds will be available each Saturday/Sunday.
Q: How long do you plan to build this ROM?
A: As long as I'll use it and I'll have this phone. There's no point for me to build a ROM, on a regular basis, when I don't use it. And of course as long as I won't have build errors that I cannot solve
Q: Is CM's Theme Engine supported in this ROM?
A: NO, BrokenPOP is using RRO/Layers. There is the BitSyko Development G+ Community HERE, where you can learn more and download Layers for this ROM. Theme layers are also available on Google Play Store.
Q: There is an annoying indicator when activating USB debugging in Developer Options and I don't find the option to turn off notification. Is there any way to hide it?
A: YES, the option is not present but you can edit build.prop (using a root file explorer) found in /system and add the following line persist.adb.notify=0
Q: There are several mentions above, about using a "root file explorer". What is that and where do I get it?
A: If you're asking this, you shouldn't even think to flash this ROM...really
Q: On other ROMs there were distortions and cracking noise while using a headset during a call. Is this happening in this ROM too?
A: NO. The reason for this was a setting found in build.prop file. It is about the persist.audio.handset_mic=digital entry and that should have been set to analog instead. This setting is properly set in the ROM so you're good to go.
Q: I don't find the option to enable Advanced Reboot Menu in Developer Options, Is there a way to activate it?
A: This is because it is not there. Look in Settings - Security - Advanced reboot instead...set it to Enabled
Q: I was checking the Advanced reboot option as instructed in previous answer and I found two entries labeled Disabled. What is that?
A: Guess what? You've just found a bug, they both do the same...Check the question related to finding/reporting BUGs for more info. EDIT: This is fixed from versioon 2.5
Q: I've activated the Advanced Power Menu in Security but still all I can see is Power Off entry. Where are other options like Reboot, Screenshot, Sound...?
A: After enabling Advanced Power Menu, you should go to Settings-Broken Pieces-Power Menu and choose which options do you want to be shown.
Q: The Power Menu is placed at the bottom instead the center of the screen. Why is that?
A: Because it's cool...and easier to access with one hand
Q: I just saw a "cool" feature in another ROM. What should I do in order to have it included in this ROM?
A: Pray for it! Features are added only by BrokenOS Team and only if they consider it worth it.
Awesome mate will flash on my One S i'm having troubles building a new ROM for it can i PM you? Maybe you can help me

Thank you. It is not the first time, I've been experimenting a little until I built this one. I've built Candy and XenonHD before this to learn how to do it. The guys from Candy team were very helpful on that, without them I would have still reading how-to's now.

I know how the ROM works for me, I was just curious if others have flashed it too and if they like it. I can easily build it just for me if there's nobody interested
Sent from nowhere over the air...
Flashed it; no Gapps installed; noticing some lag when going through the settings and getting the minimizing keyboard. camera didnt work at first but started after cache and Dalvik wipe. Other than that, it is really nice Layers and ambient display, FM radio and Nova along with the gallons of other tweaks make it a very, very good Rom.
PS: I cant seem to get enough of the boot animation. Absolutely LOVE it!!! Keep hope alive @Rapier

I know was just teasing.
But i understand. Sometimes you get no response and it looks like you are only building it for yourself. But people will appreciate it. They won't let it know so much though.....

Nice job! Thanks @Rapier
Edit: And please keep your device (and your work) as long as possible !

Many thanks to Liquid team and for the permission to release an unofficial version. I have only built it from source, all work has been done by them, so all credits go to them too.

"ROM Kernel: Linux 3.4.x"
there is 3.4.x kernel for s3 lte?
No, sorry thats a copy and past error. Sorry.
Yeah, rodman01 did it again!
Finally LS comes back to my i9305, like in the good old kitkat times. ?
I'm going to report back after some testing time.
Great job rodman as usual; just a question, could you please display the changelog for LS4.1 ? In your 1st post i can only see 3.2
I'm very curious to see how it runs against my SlimLP as liquid is known to be a speed-aiming rom

oh come on, are you all only looking for my typos? hopefully all other things and posts will be read such careful too :good:.
Awesome, awesome, awesome ... But now that I thought I'd found my daily, you're making me flash ANOTHER ROM There's no way I can't at least test this with how much I loved LS KK. Nicely done.

Great job rodman as usual; just a question, could you please display the changelog for LS4.1 ? In your 1st post i can only see 3.2
I'm very curious to see how it runs against my SlimLP as liquid is known to be a speed-aiming rom

And you know for me it will be between LS and your Slim port, which is my daily. Slim is working great, so that's my nandroid backup when I flash this. I'm wondering though, whether Liquid uses the F2FS partition format or EXT4. Switching between the two is an extra gnarly headache
Wow
My first 'working' Rom on the S3 Lte was the Liquid Smooth KK which I really liked. Moved on to RR since but this is quite tempting news.
Your ROM production seems to have gone into hyperdrive Rodman1
used LS 4.4.4 version. and loved it. was perfect smooth.
downloading and testing. any recomended kernel? or we should just use stock?
Edit: all works well. setup worked perfect(on some roms it would got stuck at 1 point).
on all 5.1 ROMS i had a hard time figuring where the weather settings are. I want to change from farenheit to celsius. location is spot on. but units is bad.
used search in settings but no use.
It's definitely a nice stab at LS and I like the few additional tweaks, but too many key bugs to use as a daily driver, I'll have to revert back to SlimLP. Namely:
- Can't get LTE data (or any data at all) to stick. On my Canadian carrier, with 5.1 ROMs I've typically had to set a new APN. Whether I use the auto downloaded ones or set up a new one, it won't connect to my data.
- I love that Eleven is included in this, but each time I reboot, it can't read my music, despite the fact that I can easily see it when I navigate to it on the ext SD via root explorer. It will randomly see it or not occasionally.
- Battery seems very much on par with SlimLP (excellent) but I'm finding it less responsive. Not unusably so or anything, but I'm guessing the F2FS partition format may help Slim in this regard.
- While it includes the CM theming engine, this is not working properly. Applying any theme will cause some system UI FCs, but usually straighten out with a system UI restart or warm reboot. However, the one CM 12.1 theme I like the best and which I've purchased completely shuts down the system UI. The only way to remove it is a dirty flash with a system/cache wipe.
I would really love the extra features, and this seems like a great port, but switching between partition formats makes testing a *****, since I'm using Slim. With an update regarding the data and music player bugs, on an F2FS partition, and I'd be happy to give it another spin.
Thanks for the effort.
Installed the ROM as well for testing and I can't confirm the bugs ultyrunner has mentioned.
- LTE is working for me
- CM theme engine works without any issues. Downloaded two themes I have used in the past on RR/AICP. Everything was themed, no FCs
Can't say much about battery since it's a fresh install. GPS/mobile data are working, app2sd is working. Eleven is not working for me however. As soon as I start it, it's just closing itself. Other than that your build has some more features than Slim, which are a nice addition.
This ROM with the optimized Slim Kernel would be the best ROM so far. The ROM is smooth as well on ext4, I don't think there will be a noticeable improvement over F2FS.
Thanks and congrats on another great ROM.

My LTE issue is likely due to being on Rogers in Canada. Every 5.1 ROM without fail has issues for me. However, I was able to set up a manual APN. Not here. I have read on other device forums (flashing LP on my son's rooted Z3) that some people were having issues with CM bases and ext SD cards randomly unmounting/losing access. The intermittent nature of my Eleven issues seem to point to something of this nature. However, as I can always see all mounts in root explorer, not sure what this issue is. I even experienced it once on Slim so ... ? Also, just anecdotal on the F2FS, but I have found Slim to be really snappy with killer battery. While LS has fewer governors available, I've set them the same - pegasusq, 200/1400 and readahead buffers 512/1024 (really all I'm tweaking). LS is still very good, just a little less so. And, agreed, I'd love to be able to use LS due to the extra features, but music and theming and switching between partition formats makes it difficult at present.
Also agreed that this is a very nice job and so close ...
As well, while I wouldn't want anyone to buy it to test, the specific theme that totally borked this for me was Flux and it's absolutely amazing, as almost the entire UI is dark themed, with a beautiful font and very good system icons. If anyone already has a license and wanted to test that, it would be interesting.

Thankfully I never had issues with mobile data but I have seen posts on here and on other boards, too where people couldn't even get 2G/3G working. I guess I was lucky, LTE worked right out of the box after installing LS. What I encountered on AICP was the randomly SD card unmounting. I never found any solution. One reason I stopped using it since I lost quite a few data, music etc. Never happened on any other CM-based ROM. I was able to access my SD card on LS as well but as I stated, Eleven just closed itself after starting. Not even deleting data/wiping cache did help. With Google Play Music no issues. Maybe a bad installation?

I didn't tweak the kernel that much but with the few apps I installed the ROM was pretty smooth. I did not feel any difference compared to Slim. I guess in the long run you might see/feel advantages off F2FS to ext4. Lock screen weather and maybe carrier logo on home screen would make Slim even better, the only two things I have missed. I already said but with the customized kernel from Slim (battery, sound, tweaks), the features included in LS ... that ROM would be major killer.

Rodman deserves more recognition. I'm amazed at how many ROMs he has given the community within the last few weeks. He even updates them frequently. Kudos to him.

I only tried Euphoria Dark Theme and the Dark Red Resurrection Theme, no issues as stated. But then the theme you used hasn't been updated in a while (last update was in May) which could be the reason it was not working 100%.
Before I'm way too off topic I keep it short and I'm looking forward to the next build.

Who knows. Data was fine for me on all early 5.0 LP ROMs and just started being a problem on, primarily, CM12.1 based stuff. Back on Slim and it's working well. The biggest setting change from the downloaded APN from the SIM, is setting APN type to just an asterisk and not filling in a few other fields. As for your data loss, that's why I can't jump between EXT4 and F2FS any more. The first time I stupidly forgot to back up a bunch of pics on my internal SD card. 20 gigs of music on my ext SD so safe. I'd love to see LS on F2FS instead, because it's also a buggar restoring a nandroid. You have to reformat the partitions for each move back and forth (or at least I do, or the backup won't restore properly).

Agreed. Particularly the way cLock weather allows the forecast floating window on touch without unlocking. I find that to be a majorly useful feature and likely not coming to Slim.

Absolutely. I've tested Cyanide, Blisspop and now LS, all courtesy Rodman, so big kudos.

Maybe, though I had it enabled on the last stable 5.0 based LP ROM (AICP) I was using for probably a couple months and no problems. My first foray into LTE hell was when I upgraded to AICP 9. Slim is the only one since that works for me.

You can't put weather on the lockscreen, so really the best way is to add the weather widget to a homescreen, then you'll get presented with the clock, weather and calendar options before it's placed.
Smooth ROM, but some issues:
Cant get notification sounds - like incoming call ring, sms, whatsapp notification sound. Tried rebooting few times, no help.
When i disconnect the call, the screen just shows hanging up and stays there forever, i have to use the back button to get out of that.
Also I am on 3UK network, the network coverage is bad, is there a way to flash 3 uk modem?
Appreciate your help
