[How-To] Directly download .apk files from PC - Android General

How to download .apk files directly from PC
Hi friends, Today I'll explain how to directly download .apk files from PC, many of you may be familier from flashing custom ROM and recoveryes in your device, so many will be flashing ROM frequently so they need to download their beloved Games and apps again and again as the apps downloaded from google play doesn't save the file but just run and install it, the leecher I found from the net is useful in downloading the actual setupfile of the app so you can install it whenever you want.
1 - Download 'Real APK Leecher v 1.3.5 (File in attachments)
2 - Extrace the zip file and open .exe file
3 - Enter the primary email ID you use in your device to download apps and enter its password
4 - Enter correct Device ID (to find device ID download Device ID app from google play)
5 - Fill all other details
6 - Now the leecher will go the download page search the app and it will show you the results
7 - Right click the app and click download (You need the purchace paid apps or it won't download)
8 - Now it will start to download and save the file in your specified destination
9 - Now copy the files into the sd card of your phone
10 - Go to settings->Security and tick unknown sources
11 - Now run the .apk file in your phone and it will start to install.
Note - The leecher is not made by me and i found it in net

[Q] Market Download Location

Good Day,
I have been searching my phone (HTC magic : CM6) for the location of the download folder of the market, with no luck.
searches on google and XDA have been no help
the things I would like to do:
*Move Downloaded (but not installed) apps to my SD
*Find market config file
*Mod Market config file to download and scan a folder on my SD card
i think it would be great to download a bunch of apps and keep them on my SD if i want to install them , as well as have the market app check if there is an update for any of them.
Thank you

Im not sure about it but my guess is that you cant do that. The only option i see is downloading the app to your phone or whatever and pulling it from system/app to your sdcard then copying it to your PC. (Or using adb pull to transfer it directly to your PC)

i mean making 2 same apps in a single device.
My goal is just to play 2 accounts in a single game and in the same device.

Simultaneously on 2 different accounts or separately?
I have 3 solutions I can think of:
- To Play Them Separately -
Multi User on Android
Using 2 different backup apps and restoring them to the other when you want to change
- To Play Them Simultaneously -
You would need to decompile the apk of the app you want to clone (pull it from data/app then use something like APK Multi Tools or APKTool) and change the package name under AndroidManifest.xml, recompile, push to /SDcard and install as a normal app. Then you will have a second same app you can use with the other one at any time with it's own data.

just did the first one... actually i have been studying on rooting few hours ago and just rooted my phone 10mins ago lol... just done making another profile, but your second option is more convenient than restarting my phone everytime i wanted to switch accounts....
any video guide that i can follow?
Quickly peeking over XDA I found this guide which is quite well explained for people who haven't decompiled an app before:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341351
Steps 6-8 are unnecessary hence you're not modifying a System APP but is recommended anyway just for future use (and avoiding any problems - which shouldn't occur anyway).
Your app (assuming it's installed) should be under data/app (from root directory of the device, copy it from there to /sdcard/ and then to PC. (There are many file managers which have root access, ES File manager or Total Commander are recommended)
(Follow guide)
Once you decompile the app (will be under a folder called projects) there should be a AndroidManifest.xml in the root of the decompiled app folder, edit it (I recommend NotePad++ for many reasons, but WordPad/Notepad are still viable), the XML is in human readable format and is generally small so there should be no issues.
Somewhere there should be a package name (these 99% of the time start with com. and often include the developer name after it then the name of the app e.g. com.android.chrome or com.handlerexploit.tweedle), simply modify it to something different, save and go back to the guide to recompile.
After recompiling simply push the app back to the phone and install it through a file manager.

Also seeing you have not probably used ADB you'd need the drivers for it (as well as USB Debugging enables in phone) for APK multi tool to pull system files if you decide to do Steps 6-8 (although unnecessary).
The tool here : http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/ has easy to do instructions on installing drivers or if you know what you're doing grab the official driver here ( http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html ) and install in device manager if your device has no driver installed there. (Do Browse manually and point it to USB_driver directory)

[GUIDE] Manually install Play Store on Fuhu Nabi Jr Edition SNBJR-MT5C-US

This guide is for helping people that want to install Google play store at fuhu Nabi Jr Edition SNBJR-MT5C-US that have some expert skills. It is not an automated procedure yet.
This edition is equipped with an MTK processor and is not recognized by Nabilab tools so this procedure has to be entirely manual executed.
Root your device
Root device using Kingo Root
Enter Daddy mode
Boot rooted device and enter Daddy mode
Install Es File Explorer
Allow unknown sources to be installed
Install File Explorer from direct downloading apk
Make system rw
Enter Root Explorer option in Es File Explorer and select to mount system as rw
Download zip
Download zip from link below and extract contents using Es File Explorer
Link = https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24665509702140403
copy files to system folder
Copy files within each folder of extracted zip to own folder Inside system folder
copy files to data folder
Copy files within each folder of extracted zip to own folder Inside data folder
reboot
Reboot device and cross finger.
Do these procedures at your own risk
So after following this procedure, is the play store supposed to just show up in the list of apps? No installation or anything?
Works!
Thank you very much. I have the SNBJR-MT5C 8GB version, which I brought from Aliexpress.
A number of things dont work as I am not located in the USA so could not enter billing information, so many of the built in apps dont work at all.
Device Rooted.
Installed the files, and Google Play works! It asked me to create/use a google account, all looking good so far!!
Thank you!
Only thing left is to figure out how to remove/hide some of the built in apps in Nabi mode which are not appropraite for my kid, or are too advanced etc, or dont work due to billing issue.

Well, to do this uninstall you may use some apps available on playstore like 'es file manager' or 'titanium backup'; the ones I use most for this task.
The problem is that I do not have much luck on restoring deleted apps afterwards on this device.
You should try to disable the app on Android Apps settings before attempt to delete them.

Bit of help
Hi,
I just picked up two of the 8 gig models for my boys. I want to get the google app store going on both so i can get the nick jr app on there. I would love to flash the nabi jr nickelodeon edition on here if possible, not sure if it is. I'd like to follow this guide. Any problems if i follow this guide and then do a system update via nabi update, or should i disable that?
I'd be willing to provide any stock files if that would help make a recovery? Should I do twrp to make a backup for myself anyways?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Kutas

This procedure will not install TWRP, just play store.
It will not allow to flash another nabi rom.
By the way, since it is a different processor, they are not compatible.
We would need to port TWRP to this device and compile an specific kernel for this device...
This made my kid very happy.

I know this is an old thread with nobody paying attention to it anymore but I just revisited this topic to try again. Followed instructions (I'm pretty sure correctly). Good new is I do have play store in the list of apps but when I try to login to my Google account it just immediately gives the message "there was a problem communicating with Google servers" or something like that. Any idea what the problem might be.
