This is just for those who haven't heard this announcement.
Those announcements are nice to hear unless you live in Virginia. Not one single area in Virginia. Bristol doesn't count because that was connected to the Tennesee area. WTF does Verizon have against us?
Crap thought it was going to say 4G will stay unlimited. Houston has had 4G
I live in Northern VA and have great 4g service everywhere except a small part of Lake Ridge.

wouldn't northern VA be almost counted as in the DC market? How north are you?
Just wanted to tell anyone in the Southwestern PA area that Allegheny and Washington county are both now completely blanketed in 4g.
I live in Northern Washington and have had 3g until this morning but have had 4g now for around 4 or 5 hours so I'm guessing that it is now live and I can now confirm both counties with full 4g coverage.
Nice ... Now when I visit my parents I'll be set!
Saw this over at TBforums.com and thought I should share w/ya'll. Hope this doesn't violate anything w/either site.
Verizon adding 13 new markets to its 4G LTE network on July 21
Jun 21, 2011 - 6:14 PM - by wicked
Verizon is really cracking the whip on its 4G LTE coverage expansion. The carrier had just announced the deployment of 19 new markets and 2 new cities a week ago, and now it’s revealing 13 new markets to get the boost on July 21. Verizon looks to be right on track for hitting its target of 175 markets by the end of this year.
The new locations to be added to the 4G LTE coverage map will include
Springfield, Massachusetts
Huntsville, Alabama
Augusta, Georgia
Charleston, West Virginia
Louisville, Kentucky
Wichita, Kansas
Toledo, Ohio
Carbondale and Marion, Illinois
Chattanooga, Tennessee
Charleston, South Carolina
Knoxville, Tennessee
Greensboro-Winston Salem-High Point, North Carolina
Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
Awesome! My city is on that list. Thanks for sharing.

Anyone have an idea when LTE will be available in the San Fernando Valley? I don't understand how AT&T could ignore two-thirds of the City of Los Angeles?
On HSPA+ I'm getting about 5-6 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. But part of the joy of owning a One X is its LTE capabilities.
It's weird that Verizon did the SFV with their LTE rollout, but AT&T ignored it. I think if you head south to ventura blvd/405 area, there is LTE.
I asked this question as I live here too. They said since they have 50ish towers out here they're doing them all and don't expect it done Until the end if the year.

Well, it's about the end of the year and no hint of LTE in The Valley. Usually you hear people mention brief spottings of LTE service as the towers are tested before the official launch. In Santa Clarita, I saw Verizon LTE service full time for two weeks before VZW announced it as officially available.

There is no LTE service anywhere north of Sunset Blvd, according to their coverage maps.

The Valley's less than half of the actual city's population these days. Either way, they may be ignoring the ~1.75 million residents of The Valley, but when you consider the ~13 million in the LA/OC county areas, most of which are covered now, AT&T's proudly calling LA an LTE city and not in any rush to finish up it seems.
On the brighter side, I've seen reports (and photos) of new LTE compatible panels on AT&T towers near Balboa & the I5, and even up in Santa Clarita near Lyons and the I5. There's also a completely new tower someone's thrown up at Devonshire/Reseda, hopefully it's AT&T LTE.
LTE in the San Fernando Valley
LTE is finally rolling out in the San Fernando Valley.
I was in North Hollywood, Reseda, Sherman Oaks, Tarzana, and Encino last night and all these places were covered in LTE. Signal strength was great and download speeds are amazingly fast. I live in Sherman Oaks and I'm seeing speeds as high as 30 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up in my home. I was seeing 5 down in NoHo, but that may have only been because I caught the beginning of the rollout in my area. Very exciting.
Note: I have a friend that lives in Northridge that claims she did not see LTE out in that area.
