[GAME] bopbop - Android Apps and Games

Hi,
I have developed a game called bopbop and need your advices and suggestions about it.
It's a casual game and addictive in my opinion.
This is the link to the market:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inferno.mobile.dotdot
I hope you like it.
Thanks

Fantastic game, really addicting. Unfortunately, allowing connections diagonally is almost like cheating, so maybe you should not allow those... The game just doesn't feel as fluid as the iPhone version of this one ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dots-a-game-about-connecting/id632285588)
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium

Yes, I know about smoothness and I'm doing some changes to use pure opengl for game rendering.
About the diagonal connection I think that is not cheating it's jus how I thought it should be but nothing implies that will not be changed, I just need to hear the other players opinions.
Thanks for your reply

Great Game
Wow, this is a great game!!!
I can't stop playing this one. It runs very fine on my Nexus 4! Love also the implementation of leaderboard and achievements with new Google Play APIs. Need to share the game with friends!
My suggestion is: develop a multiplayer mode and some power ups. That would be awesome !!
Bye

Multiplayer is coming stay tuned

This is a great game. Thanks

great
Lovin' it.

Good day sir, I hope you make it available for the old API. I want to play it, Cause twas simple , minimal and eyecandy. I am running a GB smartphone. :/

I will give it a go. Thank you for your time creating it.

I'm really enjoying it, too. However, could you please make it available for Gingerbread?
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 4 mit Tapatalk 4

Wow, this is really fun! I have 2 suggestions:
1) have an option to disable sounds
2) have a colorblind mode (see, for example, Color Drips on the Play Store). I'm colorblind and I spend too much time trying to distinguish the colors. I would be happy to beta test a colorblind mode
Please don't see these as complaints, as I really do like the game and want to see it do well!
--Adam

Interesting this color blind mode
I will think a way to implement it.
About the old api, I'm working on making it compatible with every device since I'm changing the game engine to use libgdx.
This week I'm on vacation, but I hope to have the new version working for the end of the next week.
Stay tuned

Great Game!
An option to disable the sound effects would be nice.

Great game. Small, simple, sleek. I really like the bonus points and time for matching so many of different colors... Adds some strategy to the game.
Bonuses you had discussed would be nice... Can't wait to see those!
I do have to disagree with a prior poster... I think the diagonal matches are great. There are a few games on the play store similar, they all lack diagonal matches (which is why I didn't keep them). This definitely helps to set your game apart.
Again, I'm really excited about this game. If production keeps along these lines, I will certainly look forward to a paid / donate version.

Looks really great and I love the design my only problem so far is that I have a hard time distinguising between blue and purple. Otherwise keep up the good work, I really love games with minimalist design

Maybe add a "no diagonals" game mode to satisfy the folks who think that matching diagonals is cheating. In a similar vein, maybe add an "all diagonals" game mode.
Great game!

options text looks pretty bad on mdpi(320x480),
check out the screenshot.
perhaps a thicker font when on an mdpi screen.
game is quite good though.

Thanks
Will give this a try

Bug report, pressing back during/immediately after the grid is loaded the grand crashes. Nice idea, I love simple games which can be controlled with one hand.

A few suggestions...
At the end of a game, have a button to go back to the menu. I have to press the back arrow, which starts a new game, then exit that.
On the main menu, the background is white everywhere except the row below the google + icon. (see attached). Can you change that to all white?

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic (AVAILABLE NOW, FREE!)

Yeah so... I might be the only person here who's looking forward to this game. There's no official release date available yet, but Gameloft has announced that it will be available 'later this year' and will be on both iOS and Android.
From what I can tell it looks to be a city builder type game. Playing mini games to earn points, then using those points to buy houses, ponies, items...so on and so forth.
So my questions to you all is: Are you excited for this game? Do you think It'll satisfy My Little Pony fans? Will you be buying this? & If so how much are you willing to pay?
I personally think I will be a good game if they do 2 simple things. Listen to what the fans have to say, and have it reflect future episodes, meaning if new ponies make their appearance in season 3, I think Gameloft should add them into the game and to do as much as possible to have the game reflect the TV show. If they keep the updates coming this game should have some lasting appeal & replay value.
Check out the iPad game play demo and let me know what you think.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlBInHiJ-74
As a fellow brony, this excites me. /)
Like you said, as long as Gameloft listens to what the fans have to say. And of course new ponies and cannon names and the whatnot. And I hope that they include some of the maybe not so well known background ponies. Such as Lyra, Bon Bon, and Dr. Whooves, etc.. I'd probably pay anywhere between 5 and 10 dollars. Depending on how much content is actually in the game.
Possibly....even if I stopped watching it after season 2 episode 1....I still read the fanfics though lol.

Thanks for the heads up, my wife loves games like this and the more cutesy the better
Edit: just watched the video, no way will this run on her ****ty wildfire s
They could make great use of the Xperia Plays touch pads on this game, instead of touch swiping the screen to navigate you could just use the touch pads. And the mini games could make great use of the D-pad. The game has huge potential hopefully they put effort into this instead of just selling the name and making a quick buck.
OMG! I LOVE PONIES!!!!
Must buy, must have!
Oh wait. Not for Android.

Didn't you know.. Ponies make the world go round!
I've been playing for about 12 hours now, runs flawlessly 98% of the time.
Running on my 800X. Pretty entertaining none the less.
Lol thats awesome
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
The only 'major' issue I've come across is the inability to connect to Gameloft & stay connected.
It's a flaw in the game, I expect this to be fixed pretty soon considering most challenges have to do with connecting to gameloft and interacting with other ponies.
All in all a pretty good game tho, I've played it more than Halo 4 so far...
Lol, you just made me download the game Xperia-player

Do you feel forced to make in app purchases or can you play the game fine without? I've only started really but read negative reviews stating this.

things get sort of expensive later down the road, but they don't force it on you. I'm level 23 and I haven't spent a dollar yet. As long as you manage your in game money you should be fine.
Thanks for the answer. The game isn't too bad. Does it ever feel like a grind?

Not really, after you hit level 20 everything you need is pretty much there. I currently have 35,000+ bits right now and that number increases every 3 minutes or so. I've also done all the available 'challenges' for the time being (besides the GL ones obviously)
So yeah hopefully we'll see an update soon...

[GAME]Pizza Snake - inspired by a DOS classic (pizza worm).

UPDATE 03 July 2014
I've rewritten the whole game, it's MUCH better now:
- ALL LEVELS ARE NOW PLAYABLE
- it's faster, more fun
- I've added leaderboards and achievements
- the start screen and Level Select menus are much more beautiful
- If your phone has a gyro sensor, the parallax effect on the start screen and level select will look fantastic. (really proud of this one)
Links to the Google Play Store:
Pizza Snake (free with ads).
Pizza Snake Pro (paid no ads).
I've also made a WebGL version that you can play on the latest Chrome, Firefox, Safari and IE 11: http://www.pizzasnake.com and there's also a version for iOS
Original post:
Hi everyone, I made a game - Pizza Snake - and it would be awesome to hear some feedback.
It's inspired by a very cool MS-DOS game called Pizza Worm, made by Sami "Zorlim" Lehtinen. Some of you may have played it when young.
Watch the gameplay trailer on Youtube: Pizza Snake - Gameplay Trailer
The game is free but it doesn't have all the levels that are on the youtube trailer yet. That is because this is my first game, first android application and I don't know how any of this works so I'm in total experimentation mode.
update: There is now also a full version of the game.
I'm very nervous right now as I hope the game is working correctly everywhere and I hope people will have fun.
It would be AWESOME to hear some feedback. Thanks everyone!
Nice little game mate
Scored 349 on my first go.
Thanks.
Thanks for installing, and sorry for not providing a link, I don't have 10 posts yet. I'm a member for 1 year now, but I lurk more than post.

You made me log into my xda account so I can say it's good. And I never log in :good:
It might get boring soon but this is not your fault, it's just the game concept
Well, I would really play it but there are people without wifi in the world...
sooo no google play store downloads for us :/
Kinda resembles the old 8bit snake on our old cellphones.
How about you make an old 8bit version with the rotational controls like in your video?
Would probably go really good (just suggestin'...)

Thanks, I haven't thought about it, and I'm currently doing a website for the game, and I'ts easy for me to put the .APK for people without WiFi to download, even if it's for few people because it will take just some minutes. I'll do it.

Yeah this is one of those arcade type games (one life, one goal) that isn't very deep for some people but many people love to replay it for the score and the gameplay is fun.
Kind of like Hexagon (first a flash browser game, now on iPhone, no Android yet)

I've had people having troubles with the controls, saying it's too hard so I'm implementing an analog stick like control.
My fear is that at some points the controls (and the finger) will be over the snake and that kind of sucks.
I don't know if it will work.
Fun game! I'll be looking forward to the updates =D

What are some good retro platformers?

I already have most of OrangePixel's games(Meganoid, INC, etc.) and They Need To Be Fed, but can't find any other good ones. I don't want something like Cordy or Robotto. I'd prefer something more retro-like and also PLAY optimized, if possible. Thanks.
Have you tried Don't look back? Only some of the play controls work. I've finished it and quite enjoyed it despite it's basic gameplay.
Project 83113 is also great but not really retro
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
LMAO, that looks like an Atari game! Maybe a little TOO retro, but I'll give it a try regardless. Thanks.
The sonic games might also be worth checking out as well as:
Lode Runner X
Experiment 13
Karoshi
Gunman Clive
And Tap n crash

Sent from my Nexus 7
@UndisputedGuy I've already beaten Karoshi & Gunman Clive before, but Tap n Crash looks a lot like impossible game, which is good.
@TLRtheory Giana Sisters & Pixeline...No. Paper Monsters looks OK at most. These all seem too childish to me. Thanks anyways.
@Leraeniesh Unfortunately, I've already beaten every Metroid & Castlevania multiple times. It's too bad Metroidvania is dying. Great recommendation though.
Have you tried Megatroid? It's free but I don't think it's optimised for the Xperia Play
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Gunman Clive was way too short and I found Paper Monsters to be very very boring. I would certainly agree with the Lode Runner X recommendation even though it isn't a platformer. I would also try Ninjammin Beat-Jitsu even though it's a bit more of a rhythm based game.
@UndisputedGuy I will definitely check out Megatroid. It looks really fun! You're on fire today!
@BrianChase You're right, Gunman Clive was really short, but still fun. As for the other titles you recommended, I'll give them a look. Thanks!
Good point! In my tired state I forgot to mention how much fun I had with Gunman Clive. Great game, but because of that the shortness made me even more sad.
So I got Megatroid, and I gotta say it's pretty awesome. It's pretty much what I was looking for. I really like how the game randomly generates a level based on an entered code as well as all the upgrades in the shop. These give it a lot of replay value. BTW, it actually is Xperia PLAY optimized, but only in-game, which means the menu buttons are only accessible via touch. That doesn't really matter though.

..

..
Also wanted to add that Cubixx is the free game this week. I would definitely recommend it; it's a Qix style game in 3D and I really enjoyed my time with it and would recommend it at the ~$3.00 price tag it usually retails for. The 3D becomes a play mechanic as the cube has 6 different sides that can all be cleared. I have a review of it somewhere in the original playstation mobile thread if anyone cares to look for it. My largest complaint was that there was an updated version released on PS3 called Cubixx HD a while back that had a lot of extra modes and I think the replay value would have skyrocketed with them included.
Just wanted to add that a music creation game called Still Life was also released today and if I remember correctly it retails for something like 49 cents and looked pretty neat. Haven't picked it up yet since I'm considering getting back in to Vendetta Online which is something of a full time job.

You cant back up the data from the app PSM or you will get an error message and force close on restore but if you install the PSM app normally and sign in the games will still be installed as they get installed to SD. All PSM game data will be in Android>data>com.psstore folder (or something named Like that).
If wipe these games you can always redownload (even if free promo has stopped) as will save the purchases (even if free) in your downloads tab as they will be added to your PSN account.

Good news, I have been talking to Thomas Hopper, the developer behind this game, Radiant Flux, and other PSM titles. He has two PSM game projects in the works, Super Brain Eater and toEND. Super Brain Eater is an arcade game in the vein of oldschool classics like pac-man. toEND is a retro action platformer. He makes some good games. Here is a gameplay video of Super Brain Eater in a very very basic alpha form, work just began on this project. Give this guy some views, he deserves it.
Good finds! I'm not a big fan of the whole retro-style that T.A.C.S. goes for but it's always good to get a jump on news like this.

Hey guys!
Just for relax. Simple time killer. Box is divided into different colored cells. Using the sliders separate the balls in the box according to their color. 70+ levels.
It's like a old game - Maxwell's Demon.
Looking forward for your feedback!

I'll give this a go later today.
