Removing static from phone? - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Hey yall! So I am receiving a Glass tr protector from spigen in the next days, i have installed many protectors in the past (only plastic ones). I am a perfectionist and hate even the smallest bubbles or lints, i understand that i get one shot to install this right and i have no problem with the cleaning process and pre installation, but i was reading somewhere that the small lints are attracted by static in the phone, so...any advice on how to minimize this? Maybe its just BS but i dont want to risk it causes once is on, there's no turning back... I know i sound paranoid btw....thanks for any tip!

First off, wrong phone. this is the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, not the S4. :banghead: Tried looking up info on what you're asking though and couldn't find anything. Maybe if you try in the right forum, you might have better luck.

Scratch or streak? Seen only from angle

Hi guys,
I'm new to the community but hope to be part of it!
Anyways I used to be an iphone user but switched to the skyrocket and love it! Its been about 3 weeks and everythings been great. I actually decided not to use a screen cover and have gotten no scratches thus far.
However today i noticed under a bright light theres two horizontal whitish lines on my screen, both near the top each only going half way across the screen. I can see it most clearly under bright light and almost not at all under a regular light and if I look at my phone at an angle (from the bottom to the top or vice versa) It looks more like a smudge (that cant be rubbed off) than a sratch because it looks thicker than a scratch, almost a discoloration. However it looks fine with the screen on. What could this be? Should i be concerned or go to the Att store? Thx guys!!

I know some ppl had screen problem in galaxy line so thats may be y you see the screen. If you are not rooted take it to ATT and get new phone for it. If you are rooted unroot it using odin here.

I've had lines like that on both my Skyrocket and my Captivate. Not sure if they're the same as yours, vertical lines that look like scratches, but when I clean them with an alcohol pad they go away.

Scratched Screen.

Not sure how it happened, but i finally picked up a scratch on my screen. Now i will be definitely be picking up a screen protector to help prevent further issues.
Is there anything recommend to help buff it out? I'm not sure if its 100% repairable, which is fine. Just something to help conceal it.
Was contemplating using toothpaste, but didn't want to risk further ruining my screen.
Displex works. Look it up on eBay. Ps stay away from the screen logos. I had an issue on another device

I really wouldn't use any method to remove the scratch on the phone. Just put a good screen protector on it, like Ghost Armor and you won't even see th e scratch anymore.
I just scratched mine last week also.... No idea how, ghost armor makes it look brand new.

I will look into it. Thank you.

Broke my screen

So I dropped my Inspire and the screen is shattered, but it still works basically. I'm waiting for the replacement screen to come in. I've replaced an iPhone screen and battery before, but the videos for this one leave me feeling very shaky about trying it. Anyone ever done it? Looks sorta easy but the videos talk it like it's hard. Plus, they do it differently.

Not sure about him, but based on most comments I recommend getting the Screen with the digitizer attached. It'll run you more money, but it's easier to pull out the entire broken thing than to pry apart broken bits of glass from delicate hardware without breaking something even more.
This didn't apply to me. My screen shows fine. The touch isn't responding. I've read too many posts already. They all pointless, as they don't apply. As stated: I already replaced the glass. I didn't miss a step. I've reposted the process 4 times, and I can't get it to work. The touch isn't responding.

I'm so sorry. This isn't the post I thought it was. I posted somewhere else about my results. It's been a long weekend. I replaced the screen (glass only) but now the touch doesn't work. Gonna just replace the phone. I've reposted the procedure four times. I miss my iPhone. Fixing it was EASY compared to this

I'd like to thank you instead! This is XDA, no one forces anyone to do anything on here. The OP of this post made his own choice of opening up his phone and drilling the holes.
Many people have done the same mod and no one else is facing the same problem. It could well be the OP drilled a little bit too hard which makes sense considering the screen is showing signs of damage.
OP: I was looking for spare speaker parts myself but have not seen any yet ( UK ).
Can you take a picture of the damage?

Does the damage coincide with where you put the holes? For example where the bluish marks are on the screen?

no, from what I'm seeing it looks like there may be something under the back cover which is causing pressure on the display. that does not look like light separation.
Take it back apart and see what you see.

This is what you should have started this thread with. You already know what caused the issue, and you're trying to get a free replacement on the phone by using Fraud.
I realize this is going to come across as offensive, but you were dumb enough to sit on your phone and now you're dumb enough to try to get XDA to help you attempt fraud against Google so you don't have to pay the money to get it fixed. Read the forum rules about illegal activity.

It's probably only visible on a dark screen because those are the areas where the actual display are under stress from the phone being bent. It won't necessarily make it BRIGHTER.... just more easily noticed. Kind of like if you touch your computer monitor. touch the screen where it's lighter, and you don't really notice much of anything. touch where it's darker, and you'll more easily see the distortion.
