To charge our phone faster then 1amp? If so will it hurt our battery alot? Also is the restrictions software based or a hardware limit? I'm not really concerned about longevity as I'll be upgrading soon.

Its safe. Just because the charger outputs 2amps does not mean the phone will draw 2amps. It should draw more than the 1amp charger though. The phone ultimately controls the drawing of power

Yeah I was just wondering if we could force it to draw more resulting in faster charges

What about fast or rapid charge? I noticed that the feature is built into elemental but I didn't see if the draw was limited

I'm not sure if that alters the level of amps the phone draws.. Maybe

Can anybody confirm if its safe to charge my phones battery using a non HTC micro USB charger.
I was think of my kindle 3 and LG micro USB chargers?
I know this is a bit of a stupid question but the mAh and voltages are slightly different than the AC HTC mains charger.
Thanks
Nik

I have done that ever since I left my HTC charger in Indiana different voltages then what the HTC charger was like you mentioned, but its lower not higher so I don't think that should ever b a problem.. as for a higher voltage, I'm not sure.
Hope I helped! have a good one.

I thought the lower voltage would be OK to use, but it will take longer to charge.
Thanks your reply, can anybody else offer any advice
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Did some research.
You can use ANY voltage charger it will only put out as much as your battery can take, so your safe pal!

No no no no no!
Any current, NOT any voltage!
The output voltage must be 5v
The output current can be anything, but below 500mA it's best to charge the phone without using it, or with it turned off due to the current draw by the phone in use.
All USB charging sources will be 5V. The current will vary from 500ma to 2000ma. It's all good my friend.

What "good things" could there be with chargers? Other than it charges lol?

Apparently they are a higher voltage but they charge the phone faster and are safe to use. Also you can get them for cheapo online

I doubt anything with higher voltage is
safe to use. Higher amperage is what enables fast charging. Regular USB is 500ma, the stock HTC chargers are 1000ma (1amp) that have faster charging.

+1 for the blackberry charger. The cord is way longer too so you can prance around while its plugged in.

I use the stock HTC charger when I'm traveling. I replaced my wall sockets at home with ones that have USB ports in them. They work perfectly fine. I believe the ones I have are about 1 amp.

I was just thinking the other day it would be cool if they made those. Got something on my to do list now!
i would be wary of HTC ebay wall chargers, there's probably tons of fakes out there. I somehow managed to buy a pair of fake HTC "oem" headphones the other day that lasted about two days before one ear broke (not to mention the phone controls were WACK).
I'd suggest going to amazon and getting an amazonbasics cable. They're really cheap, they make long ones, and I've had great experiences with them. As for wall chargers, I've had good luck with my one x using BlackBerry, HTC, amazon (for Kindle fire) and nook chargers. Just find one with nice amperage.

Checkout monoprice.com . We get all our cables and chargers there
+1 for bb chargers they don't cause any wake locks like cheap chargers do and a long usb
I use stock HTC
Definitely do not use the one that comes with the HP Touchpad. short circuited my phone :/
I was reading over at the HOS forums that a couple of people were buying HOX+ batteries (2100mah) and sticking them in their HOS (1600mah). That's the same as us I think. I wonder if it would fit. Sounds like a delicious combo methinks. Someone should try it!

Is the risk worth a hour or two of extra battery? And can you buy just the battery?
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
To me, no, but that's why I asked someone else to try it.

Not a bad idea... If you could find a broken hox+. 1600 to 2100, that's a little over 30% longer.

Did you ever find a battery case for your AT&T HTC One X (evita)?
Alright I've have noticed how easy it is to change a housing unit on a XL but I was wondering if the HTC One X+ housing would fit on this? There the same size right?
