Jb 4.2.2 non kexec cwflashable oc to 1388 - Motorola Atrix 2

Found this at :
The OPPtimizer Projekt by FreeWELL/tekahuna, and wondered if anyone had success in flashing thru BMM. I wanna try the 1.4 oc and Opp project has this flushable to 1388. Gonna Make a nandroid and flash to see. Even if it does not stick, the post says that we can push thru terminal.
If this works all credits to above website dev.
Flash at own risk.
Gonna boot into recovery, flash and wipe cache and davlik and reboot to see what happens.
File name : mo_simp_1.5_edison-signed.zip
Found out that that this is a possible battery drainer

Infinite Booting

I just flashed the CyanogenMod 7 MusicEdition_v1.1 and my phone has been stuck in an infinite booting loop
please help!
Damn bro, stop flashing roms from guys that are porting for the first time.
Try to put your SD Card on other phone and put a zip file of a rom, Creeds ROM or FITDroid.
managed to install official 2.3.6 ROM
that rom had pretty good reviews
anyhow, is this one safe?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415095
or this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277759
(though i don't like FITDroid much)
just flash it over cm7.1 that worked for me
flash this first :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324190
and then flash your cm7.1 music edition
do i flash the OC kernel first or the ROM?
You must flash the rom, then the kernel. And before you flash the kernel don't forget to mount system in advanced (CWM Recovery).
follow the instructions on link i gave u u dont have to flash kernel its not necessary just flash rom from link above and after that flash cm7 music edition i had same problem and this worked for me
k thanks
i'll give it a try

Kernel for JB

Hi,
I tried several kernels for JB. Air, Matrix. None of them worked for me. After flashing it, it won't boot the system and turn off the device. I currently use JellyBelly 1.5. Any idea? Is it ROM bug? Thanks!

I can't use Adam's Jelly Belly rom, as I have a NS4g, but I do follow his work. I believe that his rom comes with Thalamus kernel, and if you want to flash a different kernel, there is a file which needs to be deleted before doing so. There was quite a discussion about all this in his thread in the development forum. That's where you can figure it out ... good luck!
same for me
Hey i also tried to flash thalamus kernel but my phone didnt start it was hanged up on the boot screen. I am using Nexus S i9023 SCLD version stock rom 4.1.1 build JRO03E and it is rooted.
Can anyone please help me and also which other kernels are supported on stock rom.
There's a script you must delete in the init.d to use another kernel in Jelly Belly 0.1.5
Otherwise, your phone will poweroff

i have also a i9023 and i have allredy flashed bedalus kernel, thalamus and air kernel also matrix and vta2 worked for me..
i use JRO03E DX stock ROM..never had a problem
S.R.
(I use stock JB with Air #153, and got i9023. No OC, no NSTools, yet. I have no problem.)
On stock:
Try to do a factory reset/wipe data, or reflash the OS from scratch using factory images. And right after flashing the rom, flash the kernel. Even before installing any apps.
On JBelly:
For this, I think the Thalamus kernel is the best, the rom is come with it, so they made for each other If this kernel works with it, i think it is unnecessary to switch to another kernel right now.
Because JB kernels are not final yet, are "immature", there can be compatibility issues, collisions between (certain functions of) roms and kernels.
After a 2 or 3 releases, both on rom and kernel side, there will be more complete and stable versions.
Have you tried to fix permissions ?
Go to /etc/init.d/ folder and delete a file called 'kernel'. You can read it first if you want.
This is basically a hack that AdamG added to avoid everyone changing kernels and reporting problems about the ROM. He only allows thalamus kernel.
Can please provide me detailed steps of how to flash a thalamus kernel on stock jb because i think the procedure is wrong. I did the following steps:
1. Reboot into recovery( I am using Clockwork Mod recovery touch 6.0.1.0)
2. Wipe Cache partition
3. Wipe Dalvik cache
4. Install the kernel zip file
And after i tried restarting my phone but it hanged up on the boot screen.
Please someone advise me the correct steps if this is wrong
. Thanks in advance

I think the cache partition wipe is your problem. You shouldn't have to wipe anything if you're flashing _thalamus' kernel on stock JB. Just flash and reboot. I've done it plenty of times without problems.

To not have to deal with third party kernel support there is /system/etc/init.d/00kernel that simply powers off your phone if you flash another kernel.
Flash the rom to boot it, delete the file, then flash any kernel you want as you usually would.

Firstly, thanks for replying. I need to do the folloing steps (just to confirm because its better to do so and also i dont want to again restore a backup)
1. Reboot into recovery
2. Wipe Dalvik Cache
3. Install the kernel zip file
4. Fix Permissions
or 3. Fix Permissions, and then
4. Install kernel zip file
Please advise the correct steps and thanks in advance.
(I know i am getting a bit more concerned because i had it twice and i am not able to flash the same. So, I am trying to get a correct way and this the best place to ask. XDA rocksssssss<3<3<3)

There's no need for all that... flash jellybelly latest version, boot with the original kernel and delete /system/etc/init.d/00kernel with Rom Toolbox or Root explorer. After that you can flash the kernel that you want. Mind that this will only work for version 0.1.5.1, versions after that one will probably have a framework check to prevent flashing 3rd party kernels because the dev of jellybelly doesn't want to be disturbed with bugs caused by other kernels then not the Thalamus one.
---------- Post added at 08:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:34 AM ----------
Checked. Version 1.0.0 only allows Thalamus kernel to be flashed. A framework check doesn't allow 3rd party kernels to be fixed so either you stick to the stock kernel of jellybelly or get another ROM so you can use other Kernels.
Panks_4ever
What I always do.. (phone i9023 X-JB Stock).
1. flash kernel zip
2. wipe cache
3. wipe dalvik
4. fix permissions
i only know that thalamus kernel don´t need any wipe...also i don´t know if this procedure is right or not
and i don´t won´t discuss about i only can report what worked for me so try it or not its your decision....

thank you

Any help anyone?
Edit. After removing the battery it goes in recovery mode. Now i install the rom again.
OK.I just download this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2624488
Everything works nice but i cannot see sim contacts, but i can import the from sim to phone.
I search the forum for S3 look alike but RemICS V6 gives me a Status 6 error.
Can anyone know any custom rom like S3.I like the way you swipe to the right and you call and swipe to the left to SMS.
Perhaps if you have an older device that is running gingerbread as it is, maybe it is better to use ICS over gingerbread. The triple buffering in jelly bean, although pretty, is quite CPU intensive on an older phone relative to ICS. Or GPU intensive if you decide to run your UI acceleration through the GPU.

But 4.4 is bit heavy for my dad.My dad likes something simple with a big dialer.Any recomedation for a rom?
Thanks.
Helo Kuro.
I know its been a year since you made the question about a Fast Rom (you asked for ICS).
My advice is to stick to Gingerbread Roms. I safely recommend:
- " Full DDLF2 Rom".
- Deodex the Rom
- Flash CF Root
- Remove Bloatware
- Install good Apps only
- Remove the 90% of the Advertising
ICS; Jelly Bean and Kit Kat Roms may brick your device and it requires advanced knowledge when something goes wrong.
Let me know if you want to do this.
Ill be glad to provide files and teach you howto do it properly.

[Q] Cyanogen Mod gapps bootloop

Hi, I have an SGH-T959V and I have many questions .-.
Phone information:
Model number: SGH-T959V
Firmware version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: T959VUVKJ6
Kernel version 2.3.35.7-T959VUVKJ6-CL694130
Build number GINGERBREAD.VUVKJ6
First how can I put a custom recovery on here? Rom Manager does not do anything, and I don't want to go on Froyo to do it because i want android 4.1.2 - Cyanogen Mod 10.1 for SGH-T959V
Next is a problem. First I tried to put a custom recovery so I used Bali SGS4G v3.3UV Voodoo( from here -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080871) on android 2.3.6 gingerbread so I can use the recovery because there was no other way for me. Next I wipe data, cache, and dalvik then I installed the Cyanogen Mod zip from my downloads folder in my SD Card.
This zip - www.codedgraphx.info/tka/sgs4g/jellybean/cm10/cm-10-20121212-UNOFFICIAL-galaxys4gmtd.zip CM10 build 1-alpha
and this Gapps - http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip apps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
Also I tried following this guide http://www.droidgator.com/update-samsung-galaxy-s-4g-android-4-1-jelly-bean-cm10-rom/ but when I flash CM10 and then GAPPS I get stuck in clockworkmod bootloop, but it works fine if i just install CM10 but I will have no google applications such as the play store which is very important. I also put all the files in my downloads folder in my SD card.
I need to know how to make GAPPS work with the Cyanogen 10.1 Android 4.1.2 custom rom because gapps just makes it bootloop in cwm.
Wow that's a lot going on there.
At the top of your post your
Build says your on Gingerbread.
What recovery do you have?
Did you wipe correctly between
Flashing?
Did you back up your Elf folder?
Sent from my SM-G900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I thought bali was froyo recovery. Don't use rom manager. This phone isn't supported.
OK...let's start from scratch:
1. Install Heimdall...follow Lumin30's guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21953878&postcount=2
2. Use Heimdall to flash the Basic With A Twist Kernel: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/74713966/1.1.3/sms-T959V-KJ6-antsvx.v1.1.3.zip
You are now rooted and have CWM recovery
3. Boot into recovery
4. Full wipe
5. Flash ROM
6. Flash Gapps
You should be good to go.
