CWM recovery file question. - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know where I can find a good link to a CWM recovery file for the XT926? I have googled the piss out of it and all lead to the goo.im site and it says the file is no longer there.
Any ideas? Thanks

Can't find a link to just CWM, but here's one that has TWRP and the stock Moto recovery also (just toss those if you don't want them):
http://d-h.st/ZOG

Thanks! I'm willing to try anything. BTW will that work as a recovery file I can use in ROM manager?

I haven't tested it personally since I use TWRP, but it should work.

Remove CWM. Possibility?

Okay so my friend flashed cwm through rom manager on his SGS 4G before realizing it wasn't the correct way to get cwm. Is there any way he could remove the bad cwm so we can replace it with the correct cwm? Even if we have to completely wipe the phone to do so that's fine, I just don't know how. A guide or link would be great! Thanks!

Tell him to get astro or another file manager and find something called update.zip, delete it, them install the right one. For the sgs4g just search the development forum for CWM FINAL. Hoped i helped.
Thank you that is exactly what I needed!

I am using Sonya v4 and I get stable signal with AT&T where my wife's IPhone only is very patchy. Might be something to try it is a very solid rom and great performance and the dev is awesome.
Thanks for the help. I'll try it later.

Have you already rooted? Lithium v1.2.1 is the rom I'm running currently. I like its look and feel. Its using Milestone Overclock to 1100MHz (but I've ramped it up to run 1250MHz stable) and has been de-bloated to a point I'm happy with.
As for signal, AT&T is and has IMO always been sketchy. I live in a 4G LTE area but my in my neighborhood I get one bar. Have to switch to Wi-Fi while at home. Not sure that a rom's radio build has anything to do with available signal strength from towers.

victory rom has worked well for me, but now flashed back to stock 2.3.6. tried the "stock monster" (2.3.6 MB865 ROMULUS) too and worked great! now to 2.3.6 yet again to await ics.
Yes,my atrix 2 is rooted. I already install boostrap on my phone and i dont know what to do next. Before i can install rom do i really need to install cwnonboot global-j.y.daddy or can i go directly installing custom rom?

Because of the locked bootloader on the A2 the CWM Recovery is the current workaround.

Once you have installed CWM Recovery, just find a rom in the development section threads (titled "[ROM] Whatever" ) and read the install directions. Some are recoveries, others are install zip from sdcard.

The ATRIX 2 Bootstrapper is the bootstrap, and the CWMOnBoot-Global-J.Y.Daddy.zip is the Clockworkmod Recovery used to flash/restore roms. If you're watching Mastermind278's YouTube videos, they're pretty easy to follow.
So, if you've already rooted, installed superuser, and the ATRIX 2 Bootstrapper, you need to do this:
From "My Files" on your device, scroll down to find the ATRIX 2 Bootstrapper.apk and click to install (if not done already).
Next, open the ATRIX 2 Bootstrapper. Superuser will ask to allow ATRIX 2 Bootstrapper for permissions, give it!
Click the 1st button, then the 2nd button.
Now, the ATRIX 2 Bootstrapper should boot you into recovery, where you need to INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD the CWMOnBoot-Global-J.Y.Daddy.zip.
This will install the CWM recovery on your device.
When done, reboot system.
Now, your device should boot into Android. From there, navigate back to superuser and DENY the ATRIX 2 Bootstrapper permissions! (THIS IS IMPORTANT TO GET THE CWM RECOVERY TO BOOT EACH TIME YOU EITHER REBOOT OR POWER ON!)
Should be good from there. Now you can find a rom you like and follow the install instructions on the thread for that rom
Hope this helps....

Find the link for the CWMOnboot-Global by j.y.daddy.zip, download it to your computer. Make sure USB DEBUGGING is enabled AND the UNKNOWN SOURCES boxes are checked. Then move the zip from your computer to root of SDCARD.
Make sure your USB setting is for MASS STORAGE.
After you copy the zip, select CHARGE ONLY in USB SETTINGS.
Now, in doing that, when you open the ATRIX 2 Bootstrapper recovery, you can choose the "install zip from sdcard" option to install the CWMOnboot-Global by j.y.daddy.zip.
This will install the needed Clockworkmod Recovery.

Have you tried installing GooManager and getting it through there? Otherwise, I installed a CM JB ROM just now on my Skyrocket using TWRP and that worked fine (I had been using CWM up to this point).
I did a simple search of "GT-I9000 CWM Recovery" and was linked to Cyanogenmod's wiki here.. http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide
:cyclops:
I have tried this, but it's not working. The heindal program is not reading the kernel file.

GT-I9000 CWM Recovery should have worked
tried the step on the recent post and worked for me too.....
You can download ROM Manager from the Play Store. It has an option built in to download and flash CWM.

-made ROM slot in 1 nothing 2 nothing 3 nothing and 4 nothing
-wiped cache and other three
-installed ROM and gapps
-reboot and NOTHING!

No need for safestrap on an unlocked BL use TWRP instead and it should work

Do I have to uninstall safe strap and if my boot loader is unlocked is that going to matter if so how would I uninstall and thanks
Sorry I'm kind of a newbie

Make sure to delete the partition you created with safestrap then uninstall it. Then use one of the tools in the development section if your not comfortable using fastboot commands to flash either twrp recovery or cwm. Then install your custom rom and it'll work fine.

Aparently safestrap doesnt flash 4.2.2 roms.
I had this same problem. You'd be better of using clockwork mod.

You have to uninstall through the app like I said man. Not just delete it.
