Just curious what everyone likes to use for their font on their sgs3. My favorite is segoeui.
I pick my fonts via ROM Toolbox in case anyone doesn't know.

I've noticed that a lot of people who run TouchWiz ROMs use a Comic Sans looking font.

What is the name of the stock font in order to go back, if necessary? The one named "Stock" is *not* it, by the way.

DroidSans.tff??
Sent from my PACmaned SCH-I535
The name of the fonts on Android are hard-coded to DroidSans and the variations of it, but a ROM can use any font in that place. What is done is a font such as "Frontier.ttf" is copied to "DroidSans.ttf". Just wondering what the original name on TouchWiz is. It could be standard "DroidSans". If it's not that, it is something very close.

Does anybody know how to change the signal icons to make them look like the ones in AOSP?

Befora anybody says "Why don't you flash an AOSP rom like cm9 or whatever?" I like the stability of touchwiz but the look of AOSP plus I'm up for the challenge of making touchwiz look like AOSP
So if anybody knows what XML to edit or what files. I'd be very thankful if you told me.

Because NexusMod doesn't have the AOSP signal icons.
And because I would like to learn how to do it myself.

Extract apk's and edit pngs then
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Its not just a png. The signal icons in touchwiz rooms are in a slightly different location. In AOSP roms, the signal icons are above the signal bars. So it would either be smali or an xml that needs to be edited. But I can't find it and I've looked everywhere. I was wondering if anybody else might know what needs to be edited.

I'd be interested in knowing how to do this as well....
On embryo (a touchwiz ROM), I thought I had found them in systemui/drawable-hdpi. I was changing them for the same reason. Could be wrong tho.

Hi everybody!
Just wanted to share a mod that will change the stock lock screen to a different style.
Not sure if this is an earlier lock screen or just something LG didn't finish developing.
First off you need root access.
Using a root explorer navigate to your build.prop file located in the system folder. Find and edit this line:
user.feature.lock_sui=true
To:
user.feature.lock_andy=true
Reboot and that's it! I like it a lot more than the old one.
Here's a screenshot.

Only bug I've seen is some overlapping text while charging with additional messages on the screen, like voicemail and texts.

What does it look like on yours?
I have the ICS theme installed, this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1467715
, so that may have added the holo icons to my framework.

So our email is a version and some behind(understandable). I found this while looking for the GB AOSP Email.
Directions:
1. Use TiBu to uninstall the Email.apk that we have(version 2.3.something).
2. Reboot for good measures.
3.Click the new APK and choose install.

thanks - this does look nice. will have to try it.
can you confirm which theme will/will not work with? I vaguely recall some themed e-mail apks not playing nicely.....
Not sure, I'm using BnB for [email protected] 3.1.
It sometimes doesn't display the email which then it crashes. I'm trying to find out why, and possibly another AOSP Email apk.
I've been spoiled with AOSP on the N7 and want some of the apps for this phone. Lol

Glad it worked out for you... Boot animations usually across the board. Your ROM and kernel just has to support it...

That's better.
No, you have to be careful to only flash kernels made for our device. I've never heard of that kernel, if you link it I can tell you for sure.
Additionally there are some specific to TouchWiz or aosp roms, you have to flash the correct one.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Yea talk to a buddy over in the get forum [where I came from] and he told me same thing you said so I guess I'll have to keep looking for a good stable kernel

Kernels are based on the device. If you are using a touchwiz rom then flash a touchwiz kernel if using an aosp rom then flash an aosp kernel. now that aosp kernels (4.4.2 kernels) are now universal you can check out kernels from other s3 varients as long as the developers updated it.
