Hi, you have to flash the Gapps package from CWM recovery depending upon the android version. Cheers !!

I tried like ten times, with different versions, rebooting, wiping, etc. Nothing worked.
Finally I installed Google Play from chinese Market app. Works.

I would be careful with that as it is hacked version and google is banning accounts that use it.

So what do you suggest? Extract phonesky.apk from gapps package, and install it like ordinary application?

Really couldnt say. As the OEM that puts this OS out doesnt have an agreement with google to allow google apps or the market. So you maybe able to get buy with it but I wouldnt use your normal email address.

That's OK with me. I use only free apps and gmail isn't my primary address. I thought Google could ban my cellphone, like for example Microsoft pirated Xbox.
Thanks for help.

how to install google map..

i just flash CM7 and gapps..but i cant have google maps..i search at market...cant be download also..
please help me...where i can get google map??
i simply type in google map in Android Market
then click install
done
maybe you just need to install Android Market spoof app, to make it think it is in USA
Get the gapps.zip from CM wiki... it'll contain the market (or get the market.apk itself).

In Malaysia, updates to google maps are not available for some ****ed up reason. It is very frustrating how google shuns markets outside the US. I have no idea why we dont have Google+, Blogger, Chrometophone (the list goes on)
However a workaround(bug) to this is just to wait for another update to come along in your android market. When this happens, there will be an option to update ALL apps. Choose this one and google maps will update and install as well. Just be patient, or download an app that gets updates frequently

Ever thought about it's not Google mocking you but the government restricting the market in MY to get certain apps?
Especially those apps you mentioned leave an impression that tools enabling quick sharing of opinions are blocked.
Market enabler? Tried that? Fake one of the US providers and try searching again. If not, google that .apk and install it manually...

[Q] App Purchase Declined (Probably a slightly different case)

Alright. I'm trying to download Tapatalk from the Play Store. Every time I've tried to download it, it is giving me an error. First, it gave me an error, something like "Could not download Tapatalk Forum App" as you have not purchased it yet. Then I cleared the Play Store cache, data, uninstalled updates, and cleared everything again, and now it's giving me the error: "Download of Tapatalk Forum App declined".
Now, I have a good clue as to why it's doing this. I previously downloaded an older version of it from apktop and installed it on my phone and my nook. I'm not proud of it, and this is why I'm buying it now, I'm sick of the guilty conscious every time I use the app. But now that I do want to buy it, I can't! Any ideas anyone?
I'm not sure why you're having issues with the play store. If it eases your conscience though, Tapatalk is free through getjar. Here's the link:
http://www.getjar.com/mobile/237628...4ymld6hvifbqfomy&c=5v55005as52yb2m813&lang=en
I know it doesn't fund the developer directly, but I imagine they receive some compensation from getjar. Hope this helps.

Is this the latest version? As in the same as on the play store?
had a similar problem recently and the only solution i found - posts on the android newsgroups confirm that - is going back to the old 2.3.x market apk. to do so either "uninstall updates" in manage apps or if your /system/app/Vending.apk is 3.x then you'll have to replace that one with the 2.3.x one.
annoying, yes, but at least that works

To the best of my knowledge, all apps through getjar receive the same updates as the Play store. It should continue to be updated after installing.

[Q] New feature ? Play Store re-installed all my apps

Hi all,
I've installed custom ROMs many times, and always used Titanium Backup (Pro) to re-install all my apps and settings automatically.
I was suprised today after installing PAC-ROM 22.1.0 (Jelly Bean 4.2.2) to have the Play Store automatically re-install all my apps. I did not have to use Titanium this time...
Is that a new feature from 4.2.2 ? Or from the Play Store itself ?
Thanks for your thoughts
regards
No google store is restoring your last installed apps free not quite sure how many apps are being installed. Figure around last 60 apps. I wish they wouldn't i test lots of apps. I would say i get about 20 junk apps installed every time

What is quoted below is directly from Google play store! So how did you come to your conclusion?
Permanently removing uninstalled apps
At this time, there is no way to permanently delete or remove apps from the Google Play website (My Orders/My Android Apps) or from the Google Play Store app (My Apps) that you’ve previously downloaded but have since uninstalled.
Uninstalling apps using the Google Play website
To uninstall apps from play.google.com, simply visit the My Android Apps section. Click on your desired device, then click the trash can icon (to the left of the INSTALLED button) next to the app you'd like to uninstall. Click UNINSTALL to confirm.
Sent from my Nexus 4
Some apk's of the playstore in gapps packages have auto restore where, as someone stated earlier, youre most recently installed apps are reinstalled. In some cases all of them. Its usually just something the dev who created the gapps package puts together. Ive never heard of it being an option in google settings.

First of all, the OP is not asking how to uninstall apps via Play Store. My conclusion is from experience. Flashing many ROMs and having to setup my google account with every new ROM. After entering your Google username and password you are prompted by a checkbox that asks to keep this device backed up on google. Enabling it causes the behaviour the OP is reporting.

Understood what you said hoping you knew of option to stop apps from reinstalling after google account was already setup!
I guess i should have asked in a question. Did not mean to get you on defensive. My Second android phone was hoping that google by now would have seen these pitfalls in reinstallion of apps and customers need to experiment.
I wish google would get its act together realize 90% of apps i dont want are free in the first place. Its annoying to see free apps being reinstalled. I could understand paid apps being reinstalled but free apps come on Google Play Store!
But thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately I don't know how to stop the reinstallation, sorry. I don't normally use that feature anyways. Google seems to be getting too big for their britches too. As for me being on the defensive, it's all good .

I've probably misunderstood the issue here but if you want to stop the restoration of apps on each new ROM flash then just go to settings>backup & restore and uncheck the boxes for keeping the phone backed up and restoring the phone each time. If you mean that you want it only to install the paid apps and not free apps then I have no clue, sorry.
EDIT: whoops, quoted the wrong person.

However, as i said, it's the first time my apps get re-installed by themselves. Anyways, does this mean that Titanium Backup became obsolete ?
Btw, since play store v3.9 or so, one can remove the apps from the account (except he paid ones). One can even select as many apps as required and remove them all at once. Go to my applications>all apps.
Regards
I tell you one thing: it's never worked well. If I try to move over onto WiFi so that my battery won't be violated and it won't be downloading for half a day it always stops reloading them and it won't work again. This would be a great feature if it worked well.

[Q] Hello you lovely Huawei people!

I've been looking at Chinese smartphones for a while but haven't yet taken the plunge. However, a colleague of mine asked me for my opinion and I nudged him in the direction of the X2, as it would have been what I would have gone for had I gone for one...
He went for it and I am impressed. But I didn't realise (probably niaively) that it would be so dislodged from Google. Obviously not completely detached, but there is no Play Store, G+, Play Services etc as you will all know. I've been on XDA for many years and I'm somewhat of an HTC fanbuy (see my sig :laugh so I know all about unlocking bootloaders, rooting, flashing custom recoveries, firmware, custom roms etc so I am absolutely fine doing all that. He has brought the phone back to me and asked if I can help him with it; basically give him a more "westernised" Android experience I suppose
So once unlocked, rooted and flashed the (apparently) only custom rom available (KangVIP), am I able to flash a gapps package to it? And if anyone has done so, would you please be able to point me to the right one to use? He tried adding google apps from the built-in appstore but they don't play nicely (I wouldn't expect them to), presumably because the framework isn't there
Coming from a long list of mainstream devices, it's amazing to me to see a subforum with only one of two threads I understand the lack of support isn't due to unwillingness though; just a lack of owners and developers. I've been on XDA so long because of how helpful everyone is and I try to help others where I can from my experiences and techy logic
I would be extremely grateful for a little bit of advice if someone wouldn't mind :good:
Thank you all
PS - The device is the 16GB 703L and is currently running the B106 update (EMUI 3.1)

When you install the play store from the Chinese App Store it installs the Google Framework. The only two things you need to install are the Play Store and GoogleContactsSyncAdapter. You can download the GoogleContactsSyncAdapter here:

Thanks for this. I did read this in another thread actually but I was reading so much that it got lost in my brain somewhere
So at the moment play store is installed (I don't have the X2 with me at the moment). Play store won't load because of not being able to authenticate with Google servers. Also G+ doesn't work for the same reason and obviously sync doesn't work. So am I right in thinking that one sync adapter will solve all of that? If so I'll sort it tomorrow for him :good:
Thanks again

I didn't have to do anything on my new X2 other than install the play store and GoogleContactsSyncAdapter. Go into settings---Manage Apps and clear data for the play store and see if it opens. Mine opened no problem and I was able to sign into my Google account from there. When I opened maps it asked me to update Google play services and when I did the play store would no longer open. So I installed the Google play services update, rebooted and everything worked fine after that.

Excellent... Thanks a lot! I forwarded the link to him and told him to download and install it and he reports everything is working. To say he is grateful is an understatement. I was bombarded with messages at 2am saying how amazing it is
Just need to help him get rid of all of the Chinese bits now. Changing default apps and keyboard, launcher etc. He's not really interested in rooting which is a shame because of all the system apps I'd like to clear out for him but if he's happy I'll let it go. No good for my OCD though. I like a clean ROM myself

Swiftkey is standard for me so that's a definite recommendation. And yes something along the lines of Apex or Nova will improve it 1000%. At least then he can have an app drawer and either hide the stock Huawei apps or put them into a folder, never to be opened again
Messaging-wise he's already using WhatsApp but I'll mention Textra anyway

How do you install the Google play store on the China version Miui 10???

Any know how on this Mi Mix 3? Googled but no answers for this phone. Thanks
never tried but sounds like you can just download the google play store apk and sideload it just like any other app.
I appreciate your answer but I think it's more than that.

You can really just sideload the google play store APK honestly. Not sure if it also requires Google Play Services however, you may need that as well.
There is a tutorial on miui.com, but as usual its a mess but it should get you started: http://en.miui.com/thread-2326998-1-1.html
(Its for the MIX 2S, but it works for every xiaomi phone on China rom)
On previous xiaomi phones Chinese versions I had I downloaded a Google installer from the Mi app store which would install Play services and Play store. However there were also some additional adjustments required to get everything to sync, like downloading a specific contact and calendar sync app.
You typically never get rid of all the Chinese apps and language but it is usable until you can flash.
Look forward to hearing how you get on when yours arrives. I am waiting to see before pulling the trigger..
Just istall using Mi store or using Google Installer version 3.0 or 2.0

People said this machine likes the Mix2s which contains the framework itself. You can just download and sideload the apk found in the apkmirror.
I just installed to Google play store from apk mirror. Only issue I had be so far is contact sync with Google. But I just used the mi sync instead from my mi mix 2

Sorry it didn't work for me..
So let me get it right, these are the steps
1. Go settings > installed apps > "Google contact sync"
(not "Contacts")
2. Allow permission for all items
3. Restart phone.
Correct?

Contact's sync and contacts, when you start contacts there is a setting at top of screen which for some reason I always miss
so basically, google play services, contact sync etc are all preinstalled, all one has to do is install Playstore APK? right?
Hello , i'm a french student (so the budget is low and i do not speak fluent english) and i really want the Mi Mix 3 but here's the problem :
As it is not the Global version of the Mi Mix, (and the later will come out with SoC 855 and 5G so the price will go up) i don't know if i should buy it now or wait for the Global version to come out
I understand english quite well in my opinion so there's no problem with the phone being in english but the thing that bothers me is that the current version do not hold Google Play right ?
So should i buy it now and do what as said in this thread or wait for the Global version ?
Sorry to bother you and thank you very much
It's pretty simple to get the Google apps running on the Chinese version, and if you're comfortable with unlocking the phone and flashing you can now easily install the xiaomi.eu rom, which although it's based on the official Chinese rom, already includes the Google apps and supports French as well as English. As you point out, the 5G version will likely cost more, and there's also no firm release date yet. Here's the link to the rom I mentioned: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-10-0-10-1-stable-release.47170/
