[Q] Cannot find bml3.bak for unlocking - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

I am following this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=980157&highlight=bml3
And I can't find the find in using the andriod emulator,
I have used the ls command, went around checking if bml3 exists. With no avail, and yes I have the superuser permission. I got root explorer and tried to search then as well, but I only find this file "bml12" ?
I need to unlock this phone by tomorrow, any help would be really appreciated ? Thanks

Found the solution
The emulator terminal was not working for me because the bml3.bak file didn't exist for some reason, Insted get this from file nv_data.bin from efs/root/afs/settings. You can use this app OI file manager to easily copy it, also if you can't find this file you can Root explorer app.
And also the 010 hex editor is know 010 editor now, and the modified settings is Line width>custom width>set to 32 . You can then find the 8-ASCII digits on the third window panel .Thank you for all the help ,

ResHack will cause a dll or exe locked to sign if u edit it heavily.
Use Heaventools Resource Editor or PE Explorer instead
I bought Resource Editor and there is no way to sign the file....It shows when I edit only 6 bitmap files it says the file is no longer signed or trusted...is there a way around this

i attached the program i used to sign the htchome.dll file I patched. Do the following:
1) Put the file in the same folder as the program.
2) Go into command prompt and navigate to the folder which contains the the file (in my case C:\Documents and Settings\ScottE\Desktop\Programs\ATT Tilt\Programs\SignCode\SignCode)
3) Type "sign filename" which in my case was: sign htchome.dll
Then it should give you a message that the file was signed.
I just added a screenshot
you can also use sign tool from Microsoft SDK 2008
i tought he cannot sign the file after edit it. silly me there is also multisign tool floating in this forum based on SDK but with easy GUI.

Thats what I used..!!!! Thank you so much for the response...The 2008 SDK signs files but not really, you actually have to buy digital signatures...this way its free and works....
Just copied my phncanbmp test file to my phone and it works like a charm!!

[Q] How to access root files

Hey, I'm really new to the android scene, just got my galaxy s2 yesterday I've flashed the litening ROM which says that it roots it, so im assuming my phones rooted. I wanted to put in a MOD which turns off the camera noise and it says you need to go to /data and create a file. How do I access the root files from the PC because with the two file managers i've used on the phone dont have options to create files, help will be VERY highly appreciated!! Sorry if people have posted this before, but i looked and its very complicated for me :S
you can use android commander to access root files on pc , but i have a proplem with it when i copy or paste any file in the root it tells me access denied and you can use super manager on your galaxy .

Find Bluestacks SD Card Location in Your PC

Q. Whats Bluestacks?
A. Bluestacks is a Silicon Valley-based software company that produces BlueStacks App Player and BlueStacks Cloud Connect. Both products revolve around enabling Android applications to run on Windows PCs, Macintosh computers and Windows tablets. The company was founded in 2009 by Rosen Sharma, former CTO at McAfee and board member of Cloud.com.
Steps To Find SD Card in your PC
First Download 'Root Explorer' (Included Below) and Install 'Root Explorer' in Bluestacks
Decide on which directory to give access in BlueStacks. You can either choose an entire hard drive, or a particular folder of your choice.
Access the Windows Registry by going to Start >> Run and type in 'regedit' and hit Enter. This opens up the Registry Editor.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BlueStacks\Guests\Android\ SharedFolder\0.
Right Click on 'Path' and click on 'Modify'.
Write the path of the folder which you want to include in SD card. (Example C:\SDCard)
Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
You can find the folder at '(Root)/sdcard/bstfolder/ BstSharedFolder/'
Note
If u don't wanna change your Registry, You can simply copy and paste the file's that you want in SD Card at 'C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\UserData\SharedFolder\' and find the files at above location in Root Explorer (ie '(Root)/sdcard/bstfolder/ BstSharedFolder/').

YEAH! Finally found it again! Thanks mate
Has anyone noticed that this shared folder has limited functionality when trying to transfer files from Bluestacks to the PC? It seems like if I try to copy something larger than ~300 megabytes Bluestacks will freeze up. Titanium backup is also unable to successfully use that shared folder as a backup location (also freezes up). I'm trying to find a good way to sync my app data (or at least transfer the Titanium Backup backups to my PC). Any ideas?
How to copy file from window to Bluestack or Bluestack to window
1) download and intall root explorer on your phone
2) go from your computer
3) My Documents/Downloads and paste there any files
4) now open root explorer n go to this path: sdcard/windows/documents/downloads
5) you will find your file under "Downloads"
so the folder "Downloads" is the only path through which files can be transferred between window(computer) and bluestack..
i cant find the iserdata folder in c:/programefiles/bluestacks

Is your S4 rooted? I have an unrooted S4 (GT-I9500) and I couldn't find the particular path that you stated nor any folder with the name com.samsung.android.service.travel
I've been looking for ways to save those pictures too. Any help would be appreciated
Hi there, yes my s4 i9500 is rooted, i think You have 2 options:
1-Root your phone, it's really easy using chainfire's root and Odin, and search for path I mentioned.
2-Search if any folder app allows you to browse inside the whole android's files structure without being rooted, and search for the path I mentioned.
If step 1 or 2 are not successful for you but at least you can browse into the whole android's file structure ( as suggested in step 2) then you can make a search of jpg files using the search function of your file browser app and wait until it finish and look into results, the images you are looking for should appear and you will be able to check its path for future reference (In case this path would be different from mine)
Thanks. I'll root my phone and give it a try!
Rooted my phone, but still no luck. That particular folder doesnt exist on my phone, it seems
Searched for the images and no images appear either while I have it on my lock screen. Weird state of affairs.

Hi,
Do you know how to do it in Mac OS X of in iPhone Explorer?

EX FILE EXPLORER MP4 files decrypted they disappear !!

i need help with files disappear in my android after encrypting them with ES FILE EXPLORER app (
mostly are files with.mp4' after making a decrypted with the app ( es file explorer ) they simlpy VANISH from the android and cant find them
i am terribly need them back/
please help
Wondering what sense does it make to encrypt videos unless they are porn-videos?
keep Wondering, add some extra for that. but it's not the case this time....
..
can you help instead of wondering ?
Try this:
Look inside the folder where the videos should be and look there for a file named .nomedia. If this file is present delete it.
Didnt work :
i dont know where the .eslock files disappear ( which are the file being decrypted by this program ) i tried seach also with other applications.. but nothing :S
An .ESLOCK file is an encrypted file created by ES File Explorer app.
When you encrypt ( read: lock ) a file with the ES File Exploer app, then file is renamed to a set of numbers and letters and given the "eslock" file extension, which appears similar to asd496gfr04.eslock.
These .ESLOCK files should be found in the folder where the original files where housed. You can search Android for such files using ADB
Code:
adb devices
adb shell "cd /; ls -R * ^| grep 'eslock'"
thanks.
i am not familiar with the ADB thing actualy, i googled a lot and found whats called
"cmdline-tools" inside it there's is a "bin" and then " sdkmanager.bat" but it doesnt run a command shell line to type the codes :S
i dont know how to use that adb..

Use the ADB installer what is in my signature below linked to. Once installed connect Android device with PC via USB-cable and enable in Android's Settings -> Developer options "USB Debug". When having done so open a Windows command prompt and run the ADB commands.
hi again,
I couldn't find anything with the search.
I tried to make another file being encrypted.
but after a day it vanished as well after the encryption.
i dont know whats happening, and if there's another way to resotre those files being vanished :?
also i got most of the search " access denied as in the picture "
