Hello and sorry i might have posted this in another area but i am in need of help
i unlocked my boot-loader and rooted my htc inspire 4g so i can upgrade to jellybean 4.2.2 PAC MAN
and everything went well till i rebooted my phone up and noticed i could not connect to WiFi at all
the switch to turn it on is grayed and when i hit the switch to turn on it switch's instantly off
than says trying to connect to WiFi so i couldn't find any info about it so i decided to restore to the original ROM
i backed up but i can not get into my recovery every time i try manually it loads normally to my fast boot
and when i choose recovery it loads like its working then i see the red triangle with the !
and when i try through command prompt on my PC it shows adb offline with my phones serial number
and if i try to bypass that and use command prompt while i am already in fast boot it just restarts the phone normally
my situation is i would like some help to resolve the WiFi issue or restore my old ROM please any help will be very appreciated

Red triangle means that you still have stock recovery. That is weird. Anyway, re flash recovery from fastboot...if you do not know how to do that, then use the guide in my signature.
flash recovery
i am sorry i am a noob but does it matter the i have 4ext and i used that to create my ROM back up also
which one should i read in your signature i skimmed through them don't understand which one i has the info i need sorry

Hi
I got somehow a big problem.
I tried to update my Nexus S by mistake with the I9020A 2.3.6 Rom. It failed. At least somehow it said so.
Now i cannot load my phone normally. Sometimes I have to battery pull several times before the Nexus S boots up again. The other times it stays with a nasty "Google" on screen.
Even more strange. I cannot access the recovery submenu. It does stay at the same nasty "Google" on screen. It does no longer show up the triangle where you the can load an update.zip
What can I do?
Nexus S: GT-I9020
I9020XXXKB1

Thanks for help
Cheers

Since you said you can't access the recovery console and it gives you a google logo, I'm going to have to ask: Do you have access to the fastboot bootloader?
If so, are you rooted? If no, you have the option to take it in to get fixed or to root your phone.
If you decided to root/are already rooted, connect your phone to your computer while in fastboot, make sure all drivers are installed and use a command prompt to use the fastboot tools. The Unlockr's Nexus S rooting guide will be a huge help in guiding you where to be.
Does "fastboot devices" return anything on your computer, or is it empty?
(Sorry if you know most of this crap, but number of posts + lack of information in the OP + you saying you don't have a custom recovery = assuming you need a bot more in depth instruction.)
Thanks god I have been able to push the fastboot recovery console!
I did manage to access backup & restore and then load the stock 2.3.3 rom. I am back in business
Thanks for help. I think it is solved.
Cheers
Martin
Now make sure to make a backup.... helps save your a$$

Hi everyone. I have been looking everywhere i can and i cannot find any existing threads explaining how to fix this.
First off I am a little bit of a noob when it comes to rooting. I rooted my phone using a one-click method yesterday and was flashing roms fine. I couldnt find anything i liked last night so i restored the backup i made. This morning i was going to flash CM9. My phone was fine this morning. I turned off my phone and went into fastboot mode. When i went to recovery it came right back into fastboot mode saying "no boot or recovery image". No matter how i turn the phone on it goes to fastboot mode. Also, i can't seem to get my computer to recognize my phone no matter what i try. I have pulled the battery and left it out for 30 minutes and still nothing.
What am i missing.
Thank you in advance for any help.
I had a similar situation, don't get stressed, basically u'll have to force the phone into recovery, delete all the files in regards to android on ur pc, restart it, same for the phone, I don't exactly remember where it is but I think is around here on the forums at XDA that explain how to force the Nexus to be recognized by Windows again, or ;look it up on Google, lessons learned!!!
Also check the posts about Nexus being stuck on Boot and similar.

Since your in fast boot try to go to recovery. From recovery try to delete data and cache. Then try to reflash your rom. Chances are if it will not work. Maybe the file you downloaded is corrupted and u need to download it again.
PS don't forget to do a nand backup before flashing any rom or update.

stuck in fastboot mode, optimus G E970 (AT&T)
bought the phone unlocked and rooted, w. Root Box. everything was working good, had too many files so format the sdcard, data, cache, system... so now Im stuck in fastboot mode... the phone doesnt recognize the ext.sdcard and neither usb when pluged in the PC......please somebody, PLEASE! help me..
hi im pretty new here a friend of mine gave me her lg c800 mytouch to try and fix it for her.. not sure what she did she said she rooted the phone and the root was successful but i have a good idea that she doesnt know what she was doing..i will post a pic of the error screen im getting. but it says
E:Cant find misc
E:cant find misc
Finding update package...
E:unknown volume for path [sd:/download/adb_fastboot_and_other_tools.Zip]
E:Cant mount SDCARD:/download/adb_fastboot_and_other_tools.zip
Installation aborted
facory reset failed
restart factory reset..
now im far from a pro at this i know a lil more about computers and Ios devices..but ive rooted a few phones and to me it looks like she unzipped adb fastboot on her phone from her sd card??
ive tried holding F..A..vol down..and power..Nothing..
ive tried volume up .volume down and power still nothing..
BUT if i hold E..vol UP and power it brings me to a white screen that says S/W update
the big problem is the phone wont stay on long enough to do anything on the computer it stays on 3 sec. then reboots to same screen (computer says phone is unplugged) then phone just keeps restarting.
but the phone WILL stay on when i put it on the S/W update screen..but computer wont recognize the phone at all on that screen
ive tried the adb and fastboot commands but the phone wont stay recognized..it will recognize the phone and say thats its in recovery mode but when phone restarts it dont see phone no more..
well thanks ahead of time if anyone has any input or solution
and hopefully all this will make sense to someone lol
i think this pic will work.. if not ill try again
any ideas please?? or am i completely out of luck?

...do you mean that you can successfully communicate with the phone over USB, but you only have 3 seconds? What way is the phone recognized? Is it visible to adb/fastboot?

Yes In Adb device list it shows the phone and then says recovery..but after that I don't have enough time to type any other commands ..the phone is also recognized in "my computer" as removable device then when the phone restarts seconds later it says device unplugged ..and just keeps restarting on its own till I remove the battery...I just read on the forum in a post that Adb will recognize the phone if it's off but I remove the battery and put it back in and plug in USB and phone turns on and keeps restarting won't even let me turn it off!! I'm losing patience with this thing lol
But I don't get why the error mentions fastboot? Not my phone so if it's not fixable I don't really care but I'm just the stuborn type when it comes to fixing electronics ..again thanks ahead of time to anyone that helps cuz I'm completely lost on this one
Have you tried timing it to send a quick "adb reboot recovery"? If you can use fastboot, you can tell it to boot off a new, custom recovery img, without actually flashing it.
i have the same problem

i used an app on the market to remove bloatware. i removed slacker and the app stated that after two reboots that everything would be fine and the app would be gone. after one reboot the phone has the same screen this gentlemans lady friend has. it looks like the app its looking for is no longer zip aligned properly. someone told me to rename a recovery image the error message to trick the bootloader into thinking the missing app is there. hes an app dev so i figured he knows whats what. ive tried everything the gentleman in this post said and more. hell i have two of these phones and rooted the other and made a backup of that phone and dragged the backup to an sd card and rebooted to see if any of the backed up system apks would trigger a successful reboot but to no avail. i have all the drivers i need and adb commands but nothing works because the phone doesnt stay connected to my pc long enough for anything. please reply with some knowledge. ive been scouring the web for at least a month. i was so happy when i came across this. i actually became a member just to post about this erroer (look up diabolus ae in the forum search field. my post is about 3 days old with a better pic of the screen message. i bought a galaxy s II but i want to give the lg to my son. please help or respond:cyclops:

Normally, if you want to flash a custom recovery through fastboot, people will tell you to run 2 commands:
fastboot flash recovery nameofimagefile.img
fastboot reboot recovery
Since you don't have time to execute those 2 commands, you can tell it to just boot from the .img file, without flashing over your current recovery. (This is actually proper form, as you can test if the .img file works properly without damaging your existing recovery.) The way you do that is to 1st copy a recovery .img file to the root of your SD card, then execute the following 1 command:
fastboot boot nameofimagefile.img
Since you only have ~3 seconds, type the command in, and wait for the right instant to hit enter on the keyboard. If the command is successfully sent to the phone, it will reboot into that .img.
See if that works for you. Good luck.

Dear Frnds,
This is my 1st post in XDA, Need help,
Using HTC desire x.
Yesterday I selcted to upgrade my OS from ICS to JB, the download was successful, and started to install.
1st the Red triangle symbol appeared and then the HTC boot screen, Nothing further. U left the phone for a long time thinking the new OS is getting booted. Then realised got stuck up in updation. The phone doesnt boot,
I have tried Hard reset- not happening.it again comes back to boot screen and stucks.
Recovery- Not happening.
With addition to above, there is one more prob- I cant switch on when its connected to charger, i need to disconnect charge to switch it on.
Nor when its on if i connect charger it doesnt charge.
Note- When i mentioned device on, it implies only only boot screen.
The device is still under warranty, should i take it to service for flash? Or do i have any other solutions for this.?
This is an unrooted device
Kindly help.
Thanks & regards,

HY,i had this problem ,here is how you can solve it .If you can ,enter the phones stock recovery(volume up+power) and go into bootloader mode ,then open cmd on your computer and tipe this fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.2.7-endeavoru.img ,this worked for me.This might have happened when you flashed the boot.img that was not installed correctly.if you need more information just tell.

HY,are you rooted, because this is the only way you can do this what io told you previously. If you just updated the device software trough an official htc update, the thing that might cause this should be the hard reset you did.TRY to power down the device completly, and restart it,if it doesnt boot and works ,it means that you have no recovery installed on your device,i solved that by typing this in cwm fastboot erase cache but again i did this because i am rooted, also if thye first one didnt work you needed to tipe into cmd before that comand fastboot devices,to be sure your device is connected.SO IF YOU did what i told you before adn it didnt work even if you redo it ,try to change the RUU of your device (ROM UPDATE UTILITY),OR you can do this if you are rooted you are now in recovery(red triangle) where you should press volume up + power and you will get a small menu that says clockworkmode update.zip ,and you should press that.
