Hi, I have managed to debrand my Lumia 820. I used translation from some italian site i have found back then. I don't know how to find that site but i have saved translation. Here it goes:
The OTA update has not arrived yet, but on the server NOKIA upgrade to Portico is present. The following guide is meant to run in one breath the flash and debrand a Nokia Lumia 920, but with the necessary modifications can be adapted to all Nokia and also update 7.8.

11. You should now have a directory like this: C: \ ProgramData \ Nokia \ Packages \ Products \ rm-821 \
12. Navigate to the folder of NaviFirmPlus
13. FW Open the folder and then the folder of the downloaded firmware.

Just a quick question. When you debranded your phone, did it unlock the sim to a different network?
My partners got the 820 locked on t mobile but wants it unlocked. I've done it with galaxy s2 by using a different firmware and also by using simunlock but so far not found a way of unlocking the 820 and as I have not played about with 1 before I'm researching possibilities to unlock it from t mobile even if it means flashing o2 firmware onto it
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium

My phone was SIM unlocked but branded (had operator logo and apps but it could use any SIM card). I think that this method doesn't affect SIM lock, it will remain locked after flashing

NP, I hope that this will help somebody... Good luck with unlocking

Sorry to bump this thread, but since the amber update has been leaked, I have been trying to debrand my AT&T 820. So far I have not had any luck. When I try to flash in NCS, it gives me an error (FFU not for this device) - I've tried about 10 different ROMs, both amber and other.
Has anyone had success with this yet?

I've been trying to debrand my AT&T Lumia 820 myself with no success. I wonder if it has been done before?

I've been trying to debrand my AT&T Lumia 820 with no success too. It's beacuse our product code. Our phone is RM-824 with 059M0F3 product code. We can't install FW with another product code. We need to change our phone's product code, but I don't know how! We need a solution for this.

flashing to old or new firmware will unlock the phone to other networks?
just bought a lumia 820 and its locked to EE Orange.
the CSR said i have to pay £20.42 and wait for 20days.
do you guys have other safe ways of unlocking this kind of phone?

product code
hello, i've tried to debrand my at&t lumia 820, the problem remains at the product code, you can't install diferent product code, but lumia 920's users have done it by flashing pre portico rom from rogers, seems that there is a bug there? idk but i want to debrand my lumia and it's already unlocked so at&t holds me and haven't seen any update

Unbrand vodafone italy 820
Hello all,
I have a unlocked 820 but branded with a vodofone italy rom, datasense is not given by vodafone so i want a "belgium" / "NL" version on it.
Now i have checked the list with available roms and downloaded all software to flash it but i dont seem to find a "unlocked not branded" version of the firmware.
Why not ? because the list is soo big and i dont understand all shorts and verbs next to it
I live in belgium - unlocked Lumia 820 - and i have Mobile Vikings as provider.
please anyone ?

Same for me, HTC Magic but on Vista... doesn't work
downloading... hope my malaysian magic can b updated...
The ROM is understandably pretty much identical to the Taiwanese, except for the obvious changes (and some not so obvious, like some apps and widgets missing - Plurk or Stocks, for example).
Oh, and it also of course contains the same perfected SPL, so...think about it before updating.
Can I use this rom on Polish HTC Magic, will i still have polish language in my android?

Can't revert back to Nodo on VZW HTC Trophy

I have the Verizon HTC Trophy with mango beta 2, and I'm trying to go back to NoDo. When I click on my backup file, I get the error, "Error: The installed version of the tool (4.7.1404) needs to be updated to match the Zune version (4.8.2098). Please install the tool version 4.8.2098." When I go to the Zune settings, phone update, there is no restore option. Any suggestions?
I have had the same problem and I have figured out a way to get around it.
1. You have to uninstall the zune client.
2. Download the zune client 4.7.1404 I cant provide links cause it wont let me so you have to find it. google zune client 4.7.1404 download.
3. Make sure that your restore folder is in the c: Drive it will be named premangostate2
4. Install the 4.7.1404 without having the internet connected. Having the internet connected will update to a higher version.
5. Make a copy of the the contents inside this folder. (it will have a series of values) copy this folder to the the windows phone update folder. this folder will be in appdata/local/windows folder. If done correctly you will have 2 copies.
6. run the restore.bat file that should have came with the mango beta 2 update.
7. when asked to overwrite select yes.
8 This should restore your HTC Trophy back to the NODO so you can update your phone to Mango from your carrier.
I have tried everything around and this is the one that worked for me. I know you asked a bit ago but if anyone else needs this then they will find it by search.
If there is no windows phone update folder you may have to connect your phone or restart your computer.

I have a Lumia 822 on T-Mobile. I can't get SMS or MMS to work. I've tried everything that I can possibly try! My question is can I flash T-Mobile's Lumia 810 firmware on my 822? The other thing is, I tried to download Nokia Care Suite. I was successful in downloading it, but I don't know how to install the package manager. Can somebody please help?
Thank you in advance.
I'm not sure if this might work but try this:
1. Download and install Lumia Pusher from the WP8 Store (or Marketplace).
2. Open Lumia Pusher and install "network+".
3. Still on the Lumia Pusher, install "access point".
4. Go to settings and configure your phone.

was going to update that there is an update on Access Point, update the app through Lumia Pusher, and then go to settings, scroll all the way to bottom chose APN settings, Tmoblie should be there and underneath it should read "actvie" if not, press and hold on it untill menu pops up to activate it. done.
I did that this weekend. on portico update
Outgoing sms issue is known to portico update.. You should downgrade to be able to get it work.. And please dont even try to flash that of lumia 810's firmware. Try to search on forums about the issue.. There are links for firmwares there, and flashing instructions too.

[GUIDE] Fix Fastboot on Windows 8.1 [Latest fix as of 8/25/14]

I know there are multiple fixes out there for getting Windows 8.1 to detect HTC phones while in fastboot mode, but some are dependent on whether you have an Intel or AMD processor and USB 2.0 or 3.0. This is the latest fix, and should work on all types of PCs and HTC phones. It worked for me on my computer with Windows 8.1 x64, Intel processor, and USB 2.0.
This is a repost of a thread by @izi501 in the Wildfire S forums; I just wanted to help spread the word. Credit goes to Auth from 4PDA and @niks255.
The issue has something to do with the BOS descriptor in Windows 8.1. It has been fixed in update rollup 2967917.
Instructions:
1. Install update rollup 2967917 for Windows 8.1.
- To check if you have the update installed already, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates > type "KB2967917" in the search box.
- If you don't have the update installed, open Windows Update to install it.2. Download the attached file Fastboot.reg.txt and change the extension to Fastboot.reg.
3. Right click on the Start button and choose Command Prompt (admin). Then type "regedit" and press enter.
4. Go to File > Import > choose Fastboot.reg.
That should be it; Windows 8.1 should now be able to detect your phone when in fastboot mode!
Yes it will fix this issue for all PC's. Read about it here http://blogs.msdn.com/b/usbcoreblog...8-0-but-fail-on-windows-8-1-with-code-43.aspx
I'm wondering why my reg file works for One S. Your device must have a different code, so it means a different registry key. Did you check it for yourself?

I wasn't aware that the reg file was supposed to be device-specific. I didn't check for codes specific to the One S, but I used your reg file and it worked fine for me. I don't have the phone anymore, so I can't check. Maybe someone else can verify the registry keys.
Anyway, thanks for the fix!

I read lots on this forum, but I signed up just so I could say thank you so very, very much for this post! I spent about 12 hours straight trying to get the fastboot driver to work for my HTC Sensation which I wanted to unlock and upgrade. I read lots and lots and lots of posts and tried out lots of suggested fixes but this was the only thing that worked and it was delightfully simple, even though I'd never made any changes to the registry before. I am forever in your debt!
