Black screen on boot... - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've installed Cydia Substrate on my Xoom running under MyAndroid 4.2 and now I get black screen on reboot...
What to do ??
Thx in advance !!

What do you mean by that? I didn't understand your question, is your screen black so you can't use your tablet?
"This Story Ends Where It Began" - Octavarium (Dream Theater)

Fixed, by reflashing through CWM, kept all my data.
Thx for your answer though.

You can't flash the swap sd mod you need to extract the apk from the ZIP and push it to /system/app
Set the permissions
For the wifi icon it is the same

I too have the same problem...is it because of software or the battery is weak
I don't have problems try to recalibrate your battery
Which version of the fix have you try ??

Try manually replace modem.bin from the PDA of your ROM to /radio and overwrite the existing one and reboot.

It's not smart to take out spen function from the GN2. It makes NO point . You should buy another phone. Let people choose what they want to take out like some other dev that disappeared prematurely

Why the contact list doesnt show any google and whatsapp symbol ? Previously it will show the contact will have a small icon like whatsapp and google icon.

Hi yreham;
This is my SGN2.
I like it! I like the big screen, the design, I like the processor. Do not use the stylus, Multiwindows not use and do not use many applications in my daily use. Then I do the rom, custom made and seen that work very well. So I share them. My ULTRALIGHT ROM, had more than 1200 downloads, see? Many feel the same as me. I'm not having to change the phone. you do not download this rom. It is very simple.
Fortunately I live in a democracy. At least for now.
What you wrote does not seem very democratic.
If you download or not download my rom, does not change my life. However, that my life is very nice, even if there are people like you.
Sorry for my bad English.
Greetings from Italy.

[MOD][CM10/10.1] On Screen Buttons

As you all may know, adding "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" to build.prop will do the trick.
Problem is, the on screen buttons are big and I decided to resize it. To achieve this, framework-res.apk is modified.
Notes
1) Framework-res.apk was extracted from ivendor's CM10.
2) Backup rom before flashing.
3) P_On-screen buttons activate buttons only in portrait.
Instructions
- Just flash through recovery and reboot.

I dont think that you can just replace the screen. I once broke my phone, and the guys from the shops said something like that.
Further, i believe you have all the answers. So lets manually close this thread by saying nothing anymore! Anymore questions can be posted in the question thread

Just download and try both. (Btw. I made a mistake, it wont work on any device but it will work on a lot of devices).
The difference between those two is the size.
If system crashes or the mod isnt working, just reflash rom (+gapps if you are using them now), no need to wipe data or cache.

Get Back button from ogapps in Play Store. Since I don't like physical buttons, the home button was annoying me. Back button lets u choose which button u want to permanently display anywhere as it's a floating button. So I've put the home button at the lowest right corner possible in the lowest size and margin. Does not affect my usage at all and very practical.
U can also try Simple Controls if u want all on screen buttons.

Yeah I installed back button, as you, till yesterday [emoji4] .
Only thing that bothers me is that the home button (or the the buttons : home, recent app, back) are always hiding some part of my screen, for example when I use the keyboard.[emoji16]
It would have been perfect if I could place them at the same place of other Android devices : at the extreme bottom, below the dock...

Do you have root? If so just install gravitybox and enable navigation bar.
Another easy solution is to use swipe navigation from play store, it doesn't add any button but allows you to use a simple swipe to emule the home - back- recent button

First of all you have to install xposed framework, it isn't an app which you can find on play store, read carefully this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3113463 . Than you can download gravitybox, enable the navigation bar and also be able to tweak a lot of things like size, color, actions etc. Note that the soft keys will cover the close all button in recents (in portrait) , some parts of the camera, and cause s-voice settings to force close. But luckily there is a workaround also for this, you can download "hideable nav bar" from xposed and with a simple tap you will be able to hide the nav bar when you want.
There is also another way to do it, it's simpler but you won't have the possibility to hide the nav bar and you won't have configurable options.
Just go to system/ (with es file explorer for example) and add this line to build.prop file:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Save and reboot and magically your nav bar will appear
Then, just to complete the opera, there is also a way to disable the capacity Samsung buttons, I'll explain how to do it if you want.
Let me know if one of these solutions work fine for you

Without root there's the Simple Control app, but you need a third party home launcher like Nova so that you can manipulate the home dock icons.

if you don't want to press the physical home button you can you use "easyHome Samsung" app from the play store. Simply touch the home button.... it uses the finger print sensor.
