[Q] DSP Manager system wide - SLIM BEAN 4.2 Build 5 - GT i9100(int) - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
due to the fact that i'm new to this forum and there is a requirement of 10 posts to post in a developer forum i have to post here and
not in this Thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060541
Maybe you can also help me here in this Thread.
I flashed the last stable Slim Bean Rom 4.2.2 Build 5 on my i9100 (int).
So far almost everything is working fine, except the DSP Manager. The ROM comes with Version 2.0.
My Problem:
Normally the DSP Manger should work globally (system wide), so that i can use e.g. my YouTube App with it.
If i'm already wrong at this point please tell me. The thing is it does not work globally. In my Music Apps like Apollo 1.1, the Stock Music Player of the ROM or Google Play Music everything works fine. So apps that provide an equalizer option do work with the DSP Manger.
Maybe someone got the same problem and can help me with this or tell me that it is not possible with current versions of the DSP Manger on 4.2.2 JB, i did not find a thread that helped me with this.
If there is no solution till now maybe someone can provide me a link to a good EQ APP that works system wide on JB 4.2.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, I totally agree! Did you find a solution already,?
I tried the same as you and didn't succeed either.
I also like the Miui contact app. Would be great if some Miui developer could help us out.
I'm interested to know why default Miui apps don't always (or always don't) work on non Miui roms...

[Q] Custom ROMS with working BT4.0/BLE

I am getting the itch to put on a custom ROM of my GS3, but I have a Fitbit One and would like for it to continue to update over the phone. I've tried CM10.1, but it appears that there is a problem with the BT4.0 and the phone doesn't want to try to connect to the fitbit. I'm not close to a computer much currently to update the fitbit.
TL: DR- Is there a working ROM where the BT4.0/BLE is working somewhat properly?
Thanks in advance.
I'm looking for the same thing. I switched back to a Stock variant to get BT4 working and the Stock ROM is total garbage after using Cyanogen Mod. I don't want to have to choose one or the other!
There is not a single ROM out there at the moment that has Bluetooth 4.0 working. Google has not released or included a lib file for it to work. Sure our devices have the hardware but the software has no clue how to utilize it. Maybe next version of android will have it.
The 4.1.2 Omega ROM was working for me. The ROM will need to be based off of Samsung's official as it will need their hacked Bluetooth stack - they worked directly wth Fitbit to get it up and running. I've since upgraded to the Omega 4.2.2 AOKP ROM and it no longer works (which I expected).
BLE
The only ROM that i've found with working BT4/BLE is the one by beanstown.. i do confirm it working just fine for my fitbit flex.

I have a fitbit as well and I am trying to figure out what it would take to get it working with CyanogenMod. I flashed an unofficial 10.2 (4.3) and still no luck with the fitbit.
try the 4.3 version of CM in teh development section? I thought this was an added or fixed feature in teh newest version of android. not too sure though.

[Q] Slim Bean 4.2.2 XT926 Voxer not recording

Tried searching for this all over and I can't seem to find it, just installed Slim Bean 4.2.2 build 5.8 on my Razr HD Maxx and I've gotten everything tweaked and working except for Voxer. I can listen to previously recorded and received files but I can't record/send new ones. Message 'Voxer cannot record because another app may already be recording. Please check this and try again.' Originally was using by Titanium Backup and then updated to latest version. Then cleared data, uninstalled and reinstalled but it still shows the same message. Any ideas/workarounds? Can't post this in the development section since I'm a newbie on this forum, hope this is the right place...
It might be a ROM bug or a 4.2.2 bug, try a different custom ROM and see if the bug exists...

[Q] DSP Manager not working in SultanXDA 3.0 and 3.4 ROMs

First of all I want to thank everybody on XDA for their work and support...I've learned a lot since I discovered this forum.
I'm new to this ,in fact this is my first post and that's because I prefere to search for the answers I need...not this time.
My question : is it possible to enable the DSP manager that's buit in SultanXDA ROMs (4.4.2 ROMs)?I've tried both 3.0 and 3.4 kernel ROMs and DSP Manager effects don't seem to work in either ROMs.
Thanks

You're right, DSP is not working, maybe is because of some libs from DSP are missed.
I've just installed latest CM11 nightly on another device that I have (HTC One X) and guess what.....DSP Manager effects don't work....none of them.
It's not SultanXDA's fault so I'm sorry for blaming him for this.I'm almost convinced that DSP manager doesn't work in any CM11 based ROM.
Can anybody confirm this?
I know this thread's a little old, but it's close to the issue I'm having.
I'm on Sultanxda's KitKat 4.4.4. DSP Manager was working until I did one of the following:
- Changed from Dalvik to ART in Developer Options
- Force Stopped and Disabled Apollo in favour of a folder music player.
So, flat sound until I either get it fixed or find a decent folder-based player that doesn't splash adverts around.

[Completed] Sprint Galaxy S4 - Lost Usage of Stock and 3rd Party Equalizers

Hello, new member to the forum here. I've just been through an ordeal trying to get Viper4Android working on my Sprint Galaxy S4 SPH-L720 running stock Lollipop 5.0.1. I've finally given up on V4A (enforcing kernel). Anyway, my problem is that somewhere during the course of trying to get V4A to work, I lost usage of the stock music player and equalizer. I'm getting a quick pop message that states the equalizer is "occupied" when trying to run the stock music player (it just crashes after this message). V4A has been uninstalled. The phone is still rooted with Busybox and SELinux installed. I don't really need the stock music player, however, Spotify now will not run any type of equalizer (one is not even listed in settings).
Any help would be appreciated. I've tried searching XDA as well as the internet to no avail.
Hi, thank you for issued XDA Assist. I see you already know where your device's specific forum is so I won't link you to it. It's difficult to tell what you might have changed while trying to install viber4android so the best I can suggest is to flash the stock firmware or a custom Rom and start over again.

Hey thanks. I've searched through everything on this site. Anyway, I'm strongly thinking about CM. Little confused about which version to choose. CM 11 is the latest "stable/snapshot" build for the S4. However, I was advised that there is very little to no risk running a CM 12.1 nightly build on it. So, should I just go to the CM 12.1 download page for my model phone and download the latest one? Or would it be safer to go back to a snapshot CM 11 build? Everyone seems to love 12.

Give cm12 a shot. I've rarely had problems with nightlies.
