My device is Stock DDLF2 so I wanted to flash it with other custom roms hence I flashed it with CF ROOT(DDLF2_CFROOT-05-07-2012.tar) and I flashed the CM9 Alpha14 rom it was working good, then I thought I should flash CM10 based roms so I tried to flash Slim Bean and as per the installation instruction I had to flash first CM10 Alpha4(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868074) so I downloaded the rom and tried to flash while flashing when it just starts to load package it just reboots into recovery where I cannot do anything, though I remove battery and try to switch it ON after some time same thing, thankfully my download mode works, so what I do is I flash the stock rom again on top of KPE following the thread below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
no matter how much I try I am just able to get back my DDLF2 stock but could not get past the abrupt reboot into recovery thing. I tried directly installing
Slim Bean
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024076
as well as
ENHDRIOX 13.2.9
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043870
but same thing, so i tried installing CM9 A14(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1449649) back where I can flash it without any problem and starts just fine, but when I try to reboot into recovery same recovery bootloop. I tried all of those back and forth I don't know how many times but same results. I'm afraid I might brick my phone by doing it so many times. I even tried installing the crackerizer-kernel-final.zip thinking that the kernel that currently i'm might have not supported the kernels in the custom roms that I've been trying to flash but not luck so far.
Please Help, desperately in need of some expert advise.
Man just flash kpe/lf2/root lf2/cm10 by Iosconosciuto( this rom fixed the recovery bootloop)/ whatever jb based rom of your taste.

Because standard rom is clubbed with lots of applications which are useless and not only take your space but ram too.....most of the custom roms are stripped version and available only after rooting...which will help you to get 'administrative' rights as in case of windows PC.
so you can even decide initial start up !!!!
the design of the stock rom makes me flash it again..

Hi.
I'm going to root and unlock my device this weekend. I can't settle on a ROM because I want a steady ROM and a really stable ROM. I don't want to be flashing every 5 minutes.
Basically I just want Voodoo sound badly on my device. I am running 4.1.2 at the moment.
Is it possible to flash a custom kernel with stock android?? I have read you need to delete a file before flashing on 4.1.1. Is this still the case on 4.1.2.?
Can anyone recommend a Kernel?
Thanks.

Yes you can do it. I suggest you to try Marmite Kernel v5, it's really smooth and it has a good battery life. With this kernel you can stay with your stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2, like me, and use a custom kernel (Idon't have to delete any file, I root my phone flash the kernel and gooo)
Wow thanks for replying.
I have heard many good things about Marmite .
So I defo don't need to delete anything from stock 4.1.2. Before flashing the Marmite kernel?

Nop, just flash via fastboot a custom recovery (recomend TWRP,link below) and root your phone with supersu or superuser zip.
then flash your kernel (dont forget to wipe cache and dalvik cacche before flashing the kernel)

Yes with CWM no problem with flashing this kernel
Hi all.
Well today I gave it a go. I managed to flash my NS using the guide by gullu101. Everything went fine.
I have downloaded Voodoo app and have Voodoo sound at last! :good:
I also flashed Marmite kernel V5, but I have a few questions.
I'm still on stock 4.1.2. and used Marmite V5 Stock OTA zip.
After flashing the kernel I noticed that I had no extra options in the settings menu. I take it because I'm still at stock these options aren't available?? If I was to flash a custom ROM and the 'All Other Roms' Marmite zip I would have these options?
Another thing, after the factory reset I had to install a few things from the market. I also got an notification exclamation error which I had never had before, it said 'need google play services' and took me to the Play store to install it. I have never had to install this app before and I'm wondering what it is.
Thanks.
install NS tools then you will have the "extra options"
Do I need to flash that or can I get that off the market?
Tbh I'm not bothered about tinkering. I just want to know that leaving the stock marmite kernel as is will be fine for my phone?
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
it's just an app you can download at the google play store.
I placed Custom ROM [cm-7-20130201-NIGHTLY-s5670] in SD card and then after removing Sim card i booted my phone in recovery mode then wiped data and cache, and after that i applied update from that custom ROM.. it got stuck in ANDROID written on it.. i've waited for 40 mins and re-read the instructions.. then i found my mistake and tried to install custom Recovery CWM [beni_cwm-5_ext4_v2] by tj_styles.. and it blew my recovery mode also... now my phone is only booting in download mode. can i repair it.? plz help me dev :crying:

Yes! Dont you ever try to touch ROM Manager. [WARNING]. you will may end up with a BRICKED galaxy fit. (btw its supported by galaxy fit, but better is not to touch it) and one advise....is as soon as you boot in cm7, remove ROM manager..

To be very true Cm10.1 latest build is way better than Cm10 Rc2.. No offence.
Cm10.1 is smooth and the camera works also smooth video recording as compared to cm10.

these are the bugs on the said thread:
1. WIFI doesn't work perfectly. Network strength doesn't show up and the network often disconnects.
2. There is LAG in the UI due to lack of Hardware Composer.
3. Front Facing camera preview is improper.
4. Video recording and playback suffers low framerate issues. Will be fixed soon.
5. Built-in WiFi hotspot doesn't work. Please use third party applications.

Man i saw your post in Xgamerz trhead and just for curiosity. You solved your problems? If no: just try reflash cm10 alpha4 let the rom boot for 10/20 minutes dont worry if you dont have signal the 5 first minutes( its because the kernel) after that, reboot into recovery, do nandroid backup, when finish, follow the instruction to flash directly Xgamerz v2.2/ wipe data / format sistem/ flash rom /wipe cache & dalvik / fix permisions always help / reboot sistem / wait to complete boot,it takes several minutes (not necesary to flash any kernel, rom includes kwerty v3.1 test-2)
Enjoy.

Definitely above - you need to flash the bandwidth - either the fix or flash newer. Lots of threads here about that. I got lucky and had done the update through LG before starting with custom roms and it updated it for me which allows me to use ICS and JB roms with no issues. I was also extremely impressed with the increase in reception with the new baseband. I can now stand in the middle of my house and make a call while hubby with his Blackberry stock Torch has to go stand on the porch!
